I think Chad perks are mostly ease of access to sex and a serious buff in likability. The key distinction between 3 and 4 to me is that even Chad still has to put in serious work to change his station in life.

IMO the order of the very tip of the pyramid of privilege and preferential treatment goes Powerful/famous apex male (movie star, sports MVP, rockstar, billionaire founder, governor/president/prime minister, etc.) Hot woman (8+/10, rarely older than late twenties) Attractive woman (6+/10; former hot women can stay in this category until menopause if they have a very healthy lifestyle and don't get fat) Hot man (8+/10; this rating is different than a woman's 8+, only one or two percentiles of men …

This is because unattractive men are literally invisible to women. This has been discussed at length in this sub and supported with compelling evidence. When you recall the reasons you've rejected men, you're recalling instances where you interacted with a man who was attractive enough in the first place for you to subconsciously even consider him. Your anecdotal experience in this area isn't meaningful.

Some moms start to think and believe that THEY are the 'real' parent. And they think the father is unqualified to have unregulated, unrestricted access to his own daughter. "Everything must go through me" is what mom will conclude. This attitude is frighteningly common. So many women believe that they have the the final say with kids because they're the mother. I don't have children, but I try very hard to suss out very early on if women I'm dating have this attitude towards parenting.

I like to call it the Dunning-Kruger confidence phenomenon. Most people who are high-confidence have no real reason to be confident, i.e. no true respect among peers and no real outstanding accomplishments or skills. They're just too sheltered or dumb to have the self-awareness to realize it, and they're confident anyways. It puts men who have more cerebral, thoughtful personalities at a big disadvantage in their teens and early twenties until they manage to build themselves up to the point wher…

I fully agree. I was burned by a similar scenario to the one OP is discussing. Since then I just make sure to have a brief chat at the end of the first date if I see potential. Something like Hey, I find that I can't really develop feelings or take a person seriously as a potential partner if they're actively chatting/dating/sleeping with other people. Can we agree that we'll focus exclusively on each other? Only a single woman has reacted by attempting to shame me for being weird/posessive. It'…

On paper (finances/career/weight/alcohol/female companionship) I only lost a few months. But it took 2 or 3 years of introspection and hard work before I could honestly say my psyche was back to normal. I was a very tormented, negative, ruminative person for a very long time.

Sure, I don't notice it until it's gone so by definition it's invisible. Am I grateful for it, though? Or sympathetic for the exhaustion it causes? Nope. If I stayed up until 2 AM sorting m&m's into different bowls by color, would you be sympathetic the next day when I was whining about being tired?

From my experience, a good chunk of things that women consider invisible or emotional labor tend to be things that no reasonable person would prioritize or expend energy on. For example: going to insane lengths to maintain ties with acquaintances who don't give a fuck about you; participating in exhausting social rituals for no reason other than keeping up appearances; perfectionistically nitpicking and agonizing about clothing/makeup/hair/home decor; helicopter parenting their children

If I ever decide to make a commitment to a woman again (prospects look grim but hey, gotta stay optimistic), legal marriage is out of the question. So is cohabitation in any state/territory that has a statute regarding automatic common-law marriage after a certain period of living together. I'll happily make a solemn promise before God, the community, etc. to be loyal to her and try to make her happy and all that good stuff for as long as I live, given she makes the same promises to me. But I'm …

What the kids are resilient/flexible line really means is kids will ultimately adapt to the situations they're forced to deal with because they don't have any other choice

I agree. I'm sure some women consciously bait-and-switch their partners, but I don't think it's fraud/malicious in most cases. It's just female nature.

I think the the root of the poor communication is often a desire to protect mens' egos. It can be difficult-verging-on-impossible to tell an average woman that she needs to lose weight, no matter how true it is or how much love and empathy the message is delivered with. All she will end up hearing is "you're fat." It's similarly explosive for women to bring up dissatisfaction or constructive criticism with their sex lives. Often all men hear is "you don't satisfy me" or "you're bad in bed."

I wasn't making a normative statement, I was just stating my observations about the minds of women who tend to seek out abusive men. Of course they're ultimately accountable for their actions. And I don't think women who are like that generally make very good partners. The issues run way deeper than which sexual acts they're willing to perform and with who.

I agree with your point about women being complicit in their own abuse more often than society is willing to acknowledge. But I don't think they actually enjoy it, more so that they're addicted to the mental patterns that facilitate their abuse and they lack the agency in many cases to become aware of those patterns and change.

I never thought it would happen, but as time has passed my mental image of my ex-wife and my general conception of our time together has shifted a lot. I don't think this shift represents me "rewriting our history," I just think I'm able to see things for what they are now that some of the strong emotions have begun to fade. It's gone from me viewing her as a fundamentally great person with several tragic flaws and me reminiscing about our happy memories to me viewing her as generally a pretty a…

I won't disclose my age, but I'm well past the age where there's a common consensus that libido declines. I don't desire sex any less frequently than I did when I was a teenager, and my libido has never significantly dropped off in my adult life except for a period of about two months when I was on SSRI's. I enjoy masturbation, but it doesn't make me desire sexual intercourse any less, and the experience of self-pleasure doesn't remotely scratch the same itch. In my ideal relationship, I would l…

Sometimes whatever act that they did in the past with someone else was painful or traumatic, and avoiding the act is simply a matter of wanting to avoid physical/emotional pain, and has nothing to do with their feelings toward you or how you measure up to past partners. But if they explicitly said they enjoy the act in general, but didn't want to do it with me, it would make me conclude that they're fundamentally not sexually compatible with me, and it would probably make me choose to end the re…

If you can't think of ways in which your life is negatively impacted by 40+% of American women being overweight or by 8+ million single-mother households existing in the US I can't help you out. Unless you live alone herding sheep on the side of a mountain these issues are going to affect your life. And I have news for you: while some children are raised out of wedlock as a result of rape, coercion, abandonment, widowhood, etc., in the vast majority of cases, women's poor decisions majorly contr…

I guarantee throughout your life you've experienced countless negative effects of the prevalence of obesity, single motherhood, etc. in modern society. You just failed to correctly identify the cause of those negative experiences because they are systemic problems which challenge sacred political beliefs intertwined with your ego.

The issue "with these people just existing" is that the overall well-being of society and the dating market in general is negatively impacted by them existing. I'm a member of society and I participate in the dating market. So their existence has a negative impact on my life, and I care. That's my issue.

It's because of both. Are you really trying to say that only about 6% of paleolithic men lived to sexual maturity?

I only find a small percentage of men to be sexy, my pals find a separate percentage to be yummy, it all works out. I paraphrased what you said in a reasonable way, and you didn't like it. Maybe that's because your argument is unsound.

B-b-but I know of a statistical outlier! You're crazy for making observations about society-level consequences of the average! You see the same tired crap over and over and over again on every single social policy debate, not just romance/dating.

The point you're making is disingenuous. Of course women exist who have tastes in men outside the norm. But the norm—the qualities that make a man conventionally attractive—is very real and has a very real effect on the dating market on a macro scale. If your appearance is very far from conventionally attractive, you will struggle if you're seeking a healthy romantic relationship where there is mutual physical attraction. Dismissively saying there's someone for everyone is incredibly callous and…

And then everybody clapped! A million in cash over a decade works out to about $2,000 every two weeks. I have no clue what your situation is. Maybe your income came from a business and you were able to somewhat conceal what you were doing from your clueless wife. But unless you're a literal drug dealer crypto-whale, any decent forensic accountant will be able to see through your bullshit within fifteen minutes, and the judge will punish you mercilessly in the divorce proceedings. But even more p…
