This seems like a very sad case. Did the girl friend actually believe the kid wasn't his or was she just saying that to be hurtful in an argument? I imagine we will never know. I can't imagine what that would feel like.

i am in no way condoning his behavior. My comment was directed at what appeared to be an increase in condemnation because she is female. That being said she did not just 'mouth off' to the driver. She struck him first, which is bad, and spit on him, which is worse. Attempting to transfer bodily fluids is a felony in some states because blood/saliva/etc can transfer disease.

An adult who is at a physical disadvantage has no right to use that as an excuse to get away with poor behavior and then not pay the price. Bringing up children is a classic 'straw man' argument. shame.

Why does it matter that she is a women? She is just a passenger that was verbally and physically unruly and needed to be dealt with. The driver may have been untrained and dealt with it to the best of his abilities (poorly), but gender has nothing to do with it.

Chris Rock, or one of those comedians, was talking about sex in relationships. He said that if a woman gave a bj every morning the man would never file for divorce. I tend to agree somewhat in that men use love to get sex and women use sex to get love. If one or the other stops the normal social norm there is hell to pay.

It is difficult and even today (8 years later) I - occasionally - think it wasn't the best choice and still think about it. However, I managed to get through school debt free, which allows me to do whatever I want now. It has opened some choices for me that wouldn't have been there if I had debt hanging over me and I am content. And it has given me real empathy for people going through tough situations of any type.

Its tough, but I had a similar experience. I stuck it out for financial reasons, but stayed in the computer labs till late, took extra shifts at work, etc. I am sorry you are going through this.

Disappointing article with regards to counseling. Ball explains in his screed that he refused to do counseling sessions with the court-ordered counselor because it was the same woman that lied to his wife and told her she had to call the police or she (wife) would go to jail. He was willing to go to some other counselor. And after his case was dismissed then he thought it should be reflected by a change in the decision in family court. Of course, that judge refused.
