Yes. My dad does this. Hundreds of thousands tucked away and my mom doesn’t even know the password to get in.

That doesn’t give me much hope as a 23 year old :/ I joined the dating app world for the first time at the beginning of the year, and I ended up meeting a commitment-phobe guy. Deleted and blocked now. He was porn-sick and really bad with money. Really irresponsable. He was 26 years old - I’m scared to know that there are others worse than him out there in the dating app world. I kinda always dreamed since I was 12 about a HVM and meeting him one day. But dating nowadays doesn’t give me much hop…

Metrosexual 😂 That word is never used anymore! Wow!

Yes!!! The same thing happened to me! He asked if I wanted kids, told me emotional family stories, called me “babe,” and stuff, and this was around 4 months in. We even agreed to be exclusive, by deleting our dating apps. But he did not want to be official. Little did I know he was going to move soon and he didn’t tell me until 6 months in. He never saw me in his future. He was probably seeing other girls and didn’t tell me. He had loads of female “friends “ he was probably getting with. We met …

Yesssss. I know so many Indian aunties who are afraid shitless of their in-laws or keep complaining about them. Ones who abuse them or make them feel as if they are not good enough for their son. Sometimes it’s not the man - it’s his parents. If you happen to find a South Asian man who is a gem, you gotta vet his parents too...

I got ghosted after knowing a guy for six months. He found another girl, guaranteed. He wasted my time anyways, we were not compatible. I’m happy and blessed he is gone now. I absolutely panicked and was really sad at the time - but after a week I was like... “eh. Whatever.” Onwards and upwards girl!

As a “lighter” skinned Indian, when I visited the uk to see relatives someone was interested in me to marry their 29 year old son because of my skin color - but also my US citizenship. Sometimes it’s not just the color of your skin/eyes. FOB Indian men want your citizenship too! Be extremely wary of them.

It’s okay, but it’s just very prevalent in Indian men and I’m so done with them. I really got to understand what a terrible father is like.

So sorry you had to go through this!!! My dad is a sexist narc - he loves control, domination, and power as well. My Indian friends only complain about how abusive/cheating brown guys are. I am so turned off by them.

As an Indian woman, my parents don’t give a crap about marriage. They have never asked me or my brother to get married at a certain age. They just don’t care. My dad got married at age 40 and my mom hates her marriage and tells me to never get married. So I am lucky in that regard. The only person who cares about me getting married is my grandmother, but my mom/aunt are against it. I told them I’m not considering an Indian man. Full stop.

My dad is a huge misogynist and immediately believed it was her when he saw this news, calling this woman all the bad names under the sun - “druggie, bitch, witch, slut, etc.” He and other men would gladly blame a woman for their issues if there is one involved. He calls me and my mom the same female-centered insults too but never calls my brother any. I wonder why???

Yeah, tell me where to find them, honestly! My mom got unlucky and married the worst NVM of all. You could have picked any one of his 8 siblings and they would have been better than my dad. My dad is the lowest pick of the bunch. Gaslighting, blackmail, emotional abuse, and physical threats from time to time. My mom’s sister stayed single for her entire life because she saw what happened to my mom and swore off Indian men. She has a big house and lives peacefully, and she does not regret staying…

The two high value men I know are in my family, one is my older cousin. -He helps his wife with housework/cooking and takes her on date nights and stuff -Does not have a temper at all, really nice guy -very active in his children’s lives with school and extracurriculars -knows how to fix everything!!! Carpentry, pipes, etc -takes care of himself and his appearance That’s all I can think of at the top of my head, his dad is the other HVM who is like this with his wife as well! Honestly, these are…

As an Indian woman, I could not agree more. I stay away from Indian men like the plague. If it’s not him (in rare instances) it will be the mother in law or his other family members. I only know one or two HV Indian men in my lifetime. No matter how abusive your husband is, they will force you and convince you to stay with him. And if you do magically divorce him, prepare to be shamed and called “used goods.” Not to mention, they have no basic hygiene skills.

Idk why, but this reminds me of a Pokemon episode. A lady waited on a cliff for her lover at sea, scouring the ocean horizon to see his ship return, but he did not come back! She eventually turned to stone from waiting so long!!! I’m glad you turned that down 😂

They’ll be 40 and looking around for younger women. Broke, unattractive, and wanting to settle down immediately with someone young and easily manipulated who can bear children because they’ll finally “be ready.” 🤢

Wow! You’re right, money and items are not everything, i’ve tried to get rid of many possessions I don’t need anymore, as someone else may enjoy them a lot more! That’s a really good philosophy to have. And ewww haha, that’s nasty!

I get that not all of them are running away if they just like travel, I guess my experience with this guy is warping my view. Just trying to wrap my mind around this dream that so many men want and I had no idea about it! Good for you by the way for sticking to your guns!

A nonchalant type like a Taurus is just not my thing haha! Make sure the libra guy is a HVM too :) I honestly believe a Libra is more likely to be a hvm than a Taurus... but that’s just in my experience, not the rule!

They are really sweet, patient, and adorable. And I really love how they listen to you when you’re talking. The Libra guy I was dating recently never spoke over me and remembered everything I said. I honestly think they are the least scary guys ever! They basically do all the things that my dad does not! Hahaha

I’m an Aquarius so one of the least compatible signs for us is Taurus... because of my dad I have PTSD with Taurus men, lol. I’m sure there are good ones out there though. I’m just not gonna go for them haha! Libra men are my weakness though, ngl

My NV dad is a Taurus and I can confirm. He plays the victim card, hoards his money and does no housework while my mom recovering from chemo does.

You’re right! Every year he will move to another place like Australia, Japan, Singapore, Canada, China, etc. I’m just like, “no dude, I want stability and career-focusing in my mid-to-late twenties, not this uncertainty.”

He is, and was in no position for a serious relationship, which is what I wanted.

Could be the case, but like you said, he’s too delusional to entertain any girl with his plans.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/08/20 08:08 PM

I actually asked him that! And he said that he would not expect me to do that. So I guess he just wanted a girl to give him sex and company for two years before he went off... ugh. Screw the girl’s feelings, I guess? He is pretty sensitive himself but expected me not to get attached?

Yup, exactly. That’s why I ended it.

Wow! Yeah I suppose the novelty wears out. That does sound exciting to travel and live your life doing whatever you want but it would tire me out. I think he is running away. I realized that if he really wants me in his life then he would do anything to keep me there. Right now, not sure if he has any plans for a future wife, or settling down.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/08/20 07:37 PM
13

Exactly! Great perspective. Who doesn’t love travel? If he said 2 years I would have been like, “I’m with you!” Hell, I probably would have gone with him. But 10 years? He wants to use all his savings on travel while he works. It doesn’t sound like a good idea. Everyone I have talked to about this situation was just flabbergasted by his ideas. Oh well, it will be his problem when he’s 40.

I’m just glad he only wasted 6 months of my life and not 6 years. He was actually the one who brought up his future plans first - but the audacity when he told me was astounding. I told him I wanted something serious and long-term before. If I was planning to leave the country then there is no way I would string someone along in my area.

I’m 23 and just encountered this with the 25 year old guy (almost 26) I was dating. I posted about this. He wants to travel for the next ten years and I told him that I was not going to wait for him. By that time I would be like 35. There is no man I would be waiting for for ten+ years. He wasted my time by being on Hinge looking for a girl when he had no plans to stay in the country. I guess they just want a girl to casually stay with for a year or two and then they will leave carefree with the…

Huge rap fan here. The men constantly base songs based on how much pussy they can get, how many women they have, how they can steal your girl, etc. Men are the target audience and men are producing the music. The female rappers are OVERLY sexualized. You think anyone would listen to a skinny girl with no boobs or butt who wears baggy clothes and raps from the heart? No, because the industry is male dominated. Sex sells. There are a few rappers who call out how sexualized and unfair the industry …

My NV dad does the same thing, he woke up my mom early in the morning when she was on chemo (he did it before that as well) by making so much noise, would not let her rest. That first bullet point made me so happy as well!

YES, if it’s not the guy, then it’ll be his parents. I watched Indian Matchmaking on Netflix and there were so many issues with the guys (some of the women too were questionable) except Vyasar who was the sweetest Indian guy I ever saw.

Not to mention brown people don’t believe in depression. So sorry to hear about that. Date out of your race. All the gems of men I have encountered are never brown. I’ve only known two good brown men in my life. Its not looking too good.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/08/20 10:25 PM

I have never dated a brown guy due to fear, am I right to do that? My grandma wants me to marry a “good” guy from our community and I was like... no way. I’m gonna be disowned left and right by my relatives but i’d rather be a single, old cat lady than be with a brown guy. My mom agrees with me. She regrets getting married everyday.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/08/20 10:21 PM

I relate completely. My mom is not strict but my dad is a cheapskate and a narcissist. So I did not get to do anything growing up because of him. I think I have to get counseling because of him myself... and brown men just don’t interest me period. It’s so hard to find a brown guy that treats a woman right, that i think a brown HVM is so rare.

As an Indian woman myself, I try to stay away from indian men in general. There is too much misogyny and sexism in Indian men and our culture. Not to say all of them are like this, but literally all my brown friends have dated the lowest value Indian men possible. My dad is scum as well, and that’s what it seems Indian men are in my experience. I hope I’m wrong but... I don’t have much hope.

The difference with me is that he is probably the most amazing guy I’ve ever met, he ticks off all the boxes on my “wishlist”... but I wouldn’t see him for ten years and that breaks my heart... you can’t have a relationship with someone in this case...

This guy i was dating is a phd student but he wants to job hop every year to a different country... and backpack/road across each country. Sounds quite adventurous and its not for me. The way he explains, it seems like something that needs immense planning and money and I don’t want that kinda life with him... i just wanna stay in one place and focus on my career haha and save money most of all for stability

In this case, I say fantasy dream bc he has no concrete plans set in place. He talks about traveling the world but has no idea how to get it done. I don’t think he cares about having kids either. By the time he finishes his adventures I would be thirty. That does not fly with me. I am not dead set on having kids as I would only do it if I met the right HVM and I am established in my career. But I don’t wanna be with someone who is ‘iffy’ about children.

Exactly. Good on you for standing up for yourself! I thought that if I waited around for this guy I’d be playing myself a fool. I could be in my thirties (I’m 23 right now) by the time he comes back, and who knows if that’s even gonna happen? Hell naw! I’ll find a guy who doesn’t have his head up in the clouds!

I would like to travel a bit before having kids as well. But this guy literally wants to see the world and live in each country for years. I cannot do that. Thanks for your comment :))
