I would disagree with that definition. To me it's simply a responsibility. I can like or dislike it but I have to do it anyway because I'm pretty sure it would be the death of our relationship if I stopped. No one's talking about sucking cock like it's defending the country. And whatever I said about cookies was meant to be lighthearted. You people have a strange affinity for misconstruing examples. Point about the cookie wasn't that it has feelings, it was that I have feelings towards it, which…

Guess you haven't met my childhood stepdad or my dad's girlfriend's ex husband. I know some crazy men.

Giving oral is amazing. I'm really affectionate so I feel kinda high having his penis in or around my mouth. Immediately i don't care about the discomfort or messiness or texture or taste, all I'm focusing on is his pleasure, and I'll move mountains for him in that window. I don't expect most people to have this level of fondness or determination but I wish people would at least try to set aside their own comfort for this one thing that would make their partner very happy.

Well that, my friend was an analogy. No one's debating whether cookies are sentient!

Exactly! Just making your partner feel good feels good and you know they'll love you for it. I don't think there's an easier way to strengthen a relationship lol

You're right! I don't like it either. He'd probably be offended if I said it seriously, it's more a joke for us because blowjobs are kind of a habit, not a special event. I'll probably stay away from the word 'duty' for it's negative connotation. I genuinely know how much he enjoys them so I do feel obligated. I also love giving them though, so it's like having a job you love doing, everyone wins.

Sometimes I'll meet a guy that has a girlfriend and feel concerned for her because he seems mean to her. Then internally I just feel put off by him and think she deserves better. So I think it depends on the type of guy. There are some guys that have a great personality and I think "yeah I understand why she chose him, he seems like a great catch". But I don't mess with other women's men, and I don't make it about me.

I don't know where it came from, my parents didn't care, and I only went to church briefly, but I'm kind of morally against it personally. Maybe for a while I was afraid of losing my purity once I lost my virginity. And even now, I'm still concerned about being unwanted if I were to rack up a high notch count. It's 1 currently and it's with a great guy I'm in a LTR with. But anyway even with all the acceptance in society I just value intimacy more. I want my boyfriend to feel special. I don't wa…

Duty doesn't mean we don't like it. Some times I'm very passionate. Sometimes it depends on whether my mouth is dry that day, the more saliva the more comfortable and the more into it I am. It's a duty and a privilege at the same time, I truly like doing it, I'm good at it, but yeah sometimes it's not comfortable but I do it anyway and then I get turned on and it's worth it. Wouldn't like a life without it. But doesn't mean I need to be obsessed with it 24/7. I like cookies, sometimes I don't ha…

Lol it's just a phrase. More like either he's in the mood or it's a good time, so naturally it happens. I feel it's my duty to give him nice orgasms and make his life more enjoyable. If we just waited until both of us were 100% in the mood at the same time it would rarely happen. This works for us. Don't feel like it's personal if she's not horny, it has a lot to do with energy levels, hormones, moods, and stress. Nothing to do with how attracted we are to him. The horniest I've ever been was wh…

I'm in an LTR and he's my first sex partner. There's lots of duty BJs but they're always enthusiastic, we both enjoy it. Sometimes I don't feel well or I'm not horny and we do it anyway. But usually the act of doing it turns me on and I'll enjoy it regardless. It's usually all welcome. Been over 2 years and I don't have any complaints. He never pressures me, and he reciprocates.

That's just not practical and you're going to want a girlfriend at some point. The reality is stupidity comes from all walks of life, you'll hire terrible male workers too or bad influence male friends, and get requests from other men to help you with xyz but they never return the favor. It's all a gamble who you'll run into. Can't shut yourself in your room forever. Just be careful in social situations.

a lot of the realizations here in your post are learned over time by any woman that wants to be better or cares about fairness. We grow up in a society that doesn't discipline girls for hitting boys, and shames boys for hitting girls .... we are fed the stereotype that men want sex all the time so we take it personally when they don't. from the time we're preteens all the way into adulthood we notice that our prettier peers get more attention so of course it's frustrating. everyone wants to get …

huh. ive never had this problem. The men(man) I've been with treats me like a human and I do the same, there's no crazy expectations. But my first instinct isn't to claim double standards and rant, it's to listen to his feelings and change where it's applicable.

I look for someone wise and knowledgeable, so that's just gained by living life, experiencing hardships, and working. Honestly nothing wrong with a guy that's a bit lost, I'll be his friend, but if I'm your girlfriend I want to feel secure with you; I want to feel like if something breaks in our home you will have the insight, patience or at least initiative to figure out what's wrong so I don't have to ask my dad. If my dad likes you, that's a good sign. I also need the guy to be polite to peop…

Well let's state the obvious, humans do better when they have close connections. Intimacy, companionship, trust, support, and consistent sex. It's also motivation to do better for yourself there's accountability. Most people don't make tons of money so it's easier for both when there's 2 incomes. I'm tired of reading "people don't need relationships anymore" it's simply not true, we will always need relationships, we crave it, it's healthy, no amt of feminism / financial independence dampens thi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
