First, you need to swallow the pill and be less mean so that men actually want to approach you 😂

Yup. Definitely not the smartest move or the best choice.

But the dude was married for 9 years..He's probably still emotionally wrecked from it.

Carry on as you were. No need for internet validation I think.

It is a bit ridiculous! That's why there are such things as other options...But also you have the right to decline if you feel like you don't know this man well enough to feed his appetite like that.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Surrendered Wife by Laura Doyle yet! I think you'd relate and enjoy it a lot!

I think this dude is trolling, finding petty reasons to "debate" and not really taking in what you're both saying....You girls have too much patience XD

Say something like, "nothing would turn me on more than a thoughtful surprise gift, that would make me so happy. What do you think your love language is? What could I do for you that makes you happy?" Oooh. This sounds kinda ungrateful and slightly manipulative as she said before she prefers experience over gifts :/ I’m sure there’s a better way of saying that you want gifts without sugar coating it so much....Anyone? :P

If your date offers to pay for the meal, then accept it with grace and gratitude. It doesn't mean anything more than just him wanting to be the gentleman, even if you don't see them again.

I appreciate your maturity as an 18yr old, but maybe experiencing life a bit more will help you formulate a more solid and convincing theory :-) (you gotta remember that you’re dealing with more mid-twenties and 30-40 something’s here haha...)

The captain/first mate analogy reflects working as a team uplifting each other more than the literal sense.

You know, I have quite a strong personality and sometimes when I first meet my guy friend’s gfs who are more quiet/shy type, I can feel the potential threatening vibe I might give off. But I usually try to mentally distance myself from the guy even if we are close and try to make an effort to be friends with the girl, talk up her bf to let her know that I’m not a threat, plus not make inside jokes in front of her/make plans with her/invite her. If you feel that your bf prioritises you and treats…

To me, you sound a little threatened by her, even though you are the one he chose to be his girlfriend. Could you dig a little deeper to find the root of your insecurity? On the other hand, if she’s someone with a stronger personality, she might be testing you whether she’s doing it intentionally or not. You just gotta show her (gracefully) that you’re not bothered if that’s the case, and make your bf realise your worth even more. Just my two cents!

I do feel like he is the best man I've dated, in comparison to his bestfriend who lied and left me pretty much in a state on depression. You were 19 and now 22. Only. Your whole life is ahead of you, whereas he is 31 and possibly looking to settle down soon. Do you want to settle down now with a history of issues or explore the world just a little bit more and have a better sense of what you want out of a relationship/life? Just a viewpoint to consider!

This is really valuable advice, really take it in. Don't just say empty Thank You's and I Appreciate It's. I have friends who I give endless advice to when they have relationship troubles, like this, just to be met with empty acknowledgements and false in-taking of the advice. It's great that you are seeking advice here (respect!!!) but also know that you won't find the comfort/validation that your ego seeks. I really do hope you take every single piece of advice given here. Even if you don't, i…

Coming from someone who went down a similar path (I grew up with boys, have/had more close guy friends than girls) and just kind of grew out of my tomboy phase naturally, that was some amazing, amazing advice. Still staying away from the drama queens though and pick my friends carefully haha

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
