Someone driving past shouted "nice arse" at my missus the other day. She wasn't exactly pleased but the man wasn't lieing.

Nothing, like the hydra if you cut off one head two more replace it. The whole organisation needs to be annihilated in a short space of time to make a difference. Only swift and crushing defeats are effective at completely stopping terrorist groups.

It's people like you that allow people like ISIS to thrive. I don't agree with the death penalty either, generally, but one should always allow for exceptions.

Unless it's conspiracy or "going equipped", in which case you can be prosecuted without the crime ever occurring. (But I know that's not what you were talking about, I just thought you might find this interesting)

Modifying ammunition is a war crime and they know NATO wouldn't do it- A failed Taliban propaganda campaign suggested pork was used in US ammo, but instead of outrage it discouraged villagers from fighting.

If female militias patrolled Tikrit they would have been rounded up and executed- ISIS are neutralising the military threat before moving on to the civilian population. As for my sources on market bombings, watch the news- it happens often enough that there should be another one in Peshawar or FATA soon. When it does happen you will notice the majority of casualties are females. This is because the bombers clack off where the crowd is densest, usually the middle of the square. Females congregate…

I agree. . responded to another post about ISIS and told OP I didn't think this was a "men's rights" issue. The motivations which drive forces in that part of the world are alien to us and we understand them poorly. I spent time in Kirkuk and Tikrit and even though they're close on the map, they are worlds apart. We need to stop trying to impose our values on their cultures before we try and do anything else.
/r/MensRights27/06/14 06:28 PM

Indeed I do believe it's a human rights issue, but not a men's rights issue. They were killed because they were soldiers employed by a government ISIS has declared war on, not because they were male. Would you say the bombing of markets in Afghanistan and Pakistan is a women's rights issue? Women make up the majority of victims in those attacks (and are often the perpetrators also), but I would say that the Taliban don't care who gets killed as long as there are enough bodies.
/r/MensRights27/06/14 03:52 PM

How on earth is this a Men's rights issue? Is OP upset that an equal number of women weren't executed too?

Soldiers today (well, from Anglophone nations at least) march further to combat carrying heavier equipment than ever before. The nature of urban warfare in Iraq and Afghanistan has meant that most firefights are initiated at a range of 25m and regularly end with bayonets fixed. A lot of tech is used in combat, but you still don't control ground until you have a man lying in a ditch with a rifle in it.

Yes, you obviously don't eat at good restaurants often. Not only are ladies orders taken first but if the waiting staff know who is paying then that person's order gets taken last- this is so you can bask in your benevolence and also so you have the waiter's full attention should you have any special requests.

The Serbs were actively trying to breed out the Bosniaks and established "rape farms" in parts of Bosnia, according to my ex-wife who spent much of her early teens hiding in a bunker her father built for the women of his village. That said, you are broadly correct. I think systematic rape is only really used as a weapon when there is an ethnic/religious root to the conflict.

By the sounds of things she is lucky they changed their minds. Alan Titchmarsh is a gardener and not really qualified to chair debates on important matters. Going on this show would have done her no favours. If it was news night or question time it'd be a different matter, but then they would probably have still had her on the show as they're BBC shows and very PC.

You ARE a pussy. You need to gradually expose yourself to more and more trying circumstances. Once you have overcome each one your confidence will grow. Whether it's deliberately getting onto bar fights or parachuting doesn't matter as long as you take on challenges and complete them. Eventually you'll get to the stage where a punch in the face no longer phazes you.

VW Golfs are excellent cars, and the blue motion range is one of the most economic motors on the market (on an episode of top gear they drove one about 800 miles on one, tiny, tank of fuel). A V8 is more economic than you might think though- I drive a Mercedes clk 3.2 v8 and I get about 40mpg because the engine never goes over 2000rpm around town. It's a lot cheaper to run than my bird's 1.2 fiat pinto, which is virtually redlining all the time.

It only gets that mileage in theory. Introduce a hill or passengers and those figures become fantasy. You're better off with a small turbo diesel which will be fast enough to overtake safely, get as good if not better mileage than a Prius, cost lest to maintain and hasn't raped the earth by mining nickel for batteries which has to be shipped to several different countries- thus making the carbon footprint of the car during its life much higher than an average sedan.

Spare ammo, water, rations, radio batteries, ecm, ecm batteries, specialist kit- it all starts adding up quickly and an infanteer's (or anyone deployed on the ground with them) can easily have to lug around over 100lbs in their bergan. Add on top of that javelin, mortars, mortar baseplates, bombs, section weapons and their ammo, your body armour and belt kit. Now tell me he's talking shit.

That's why I said "broadly". His only blood descendant to outlive him was Fatima I think, and the split was down to succession, in simple terms. And that's why indoctrination starts then. It is much harder to do when critical thinking has developed. Tell most children that there is a magic man in the sky who made everything or that there is a magic man at the north pole who brings them presents and they'll believe it. Try the same thing with most adults and they may ask for proof.
