There is absolutely no downfall to creating a "Men's Issues" topic Except that she loses the feminist woman vote (which is pretty strong in Wisconsin, especially around Madison) and puts the overall liberal vote in jeopardy. No Democrat is going to advocate for "Men's Issues". You didn't really think she would, did you?

I've heard it's theoretically possible for a woman to have sex without being drunk. Not on a college campus.

How about just not calling it rape when you consent to sex while drunk and then regret your choice in the morning?

I don't think the question is whether or not the political ambition gap exists, but how do we fix it. The easy solution would be for vote for female candidates to count "more" than votes for male candidates. I'd suggest a 3:1 ratio.

When I tell her that she should not get mad about this stuff and explain to her how I feel she apologises sincerely. A sincere apology would be followed by an elimination of those actions in the future. It sounds like that isn't the case. I would question the sincerity. Does she also buy you flowers to apologize. They usually buy flowers too.

I don't care how drunk she was either. If she pursued or consented to sex, it wasn't rape. Just like I don't care how sober she was. If she didn't consent to sex, it was rape.

By feminist definition, you were raped. But in reality, drunk consent is consent. So if you consented (you never indicated whether you did or not), then you had a regrettable sexual experience. That's not rape.

Asking individual women to enter hostile spaces to make them better is really asking women to make men better – and to make men better at women’s own risk. But it shouldn’t be women’s responsibility to fix men or deal with their misogyny. Instead, men should be taking it upon themselves to treat women with respect, and demand their other male colleagues do the same. You know what I do when someone is an asshole at work? I suck it up, I confront them on it, or I decide it isn't worth the effort a…

In isolation, this stat is irrelevant even if it had any type of scientific accuracy. There is a lot of shit a lot of people - male and female - would do if it (a) wasn't against the law and (b) would result in no consequences. I'd guess that the stats on rape and murder would be comparable. Everything else would be astronomical. Would you steal $1 million from a multi-billion dollar faceless corporation if you wouldn't face any consequences? If people were being honest, I think 90%+ would say t…

the majority of people would keep working to have a sense of purpose, of being useful. They might just scale down the hours. They'd scale down their hours and change what they are doing. The main focus of their "career" would now be to find something they enjoy, gives them a sense of purpose and makes them feel useful. They would no longer stick with a job they have to drag themselves to 10% of the time just because it pays well.

I am complete baffled by the entire concept of "sacrificing one partner's career while letting the other partner's career take precedence". That is NOT what is going on!!! What is going on is that one partner is sacrificing their leisure time and other "joys" of life to provide that to the other partner. For the vast, vast, vast majority of people - male and female - a career is about one thing: Earning enough money so you don't have to do that job (or a similar job) any more. When one partner's…

#1 Tip to prevent rape: When someone wants to have sex with you, agree to have sex with them! That's my response to bullshit "teach men not to rape" posts. Simply consent whenever someone wants to have sex with you and you'll never get raped. The logic is just as sounds as the linked crap.

First off, that didn't happen and this is clearly an agenda post, but.... There is a difference between a girl being a true friend to a guy, and a girl "putting a guy in the friend zone". In the hypothetical example you provided, you say that A was "a great friend to me". Yet, you give no examples of how she was a good friend to you. What causes this? Everyone wants to attribute it to men getting sick of repeated rejection. I don't think it is that. I think it is just that men decide that having a girlfriend isn't worth the effort. It's like asking someone to be a coal mine worker and then paying them $8.00/hour. The work and risk required to be a good coal miner is too significant to want to put forth that effort for a mere $8.00/hour. Because the main oppressor of men's rights is legislation brought about by feminist propaganda. Before we can really even get the ball rolling, the lies spread by feminists (and their willing accomplices in the media and the Democratic party) need to be refuted and identified as lies. Once the feminist lies are silenced, we'll at least be on even ground from a "beginning the discussion" standpoint. Right now we're in a hole that had been dug by feminist lies. In some work places in the US, women are mistreated by their fellow employees and superiors. In some work places in the US, men are mistreated by their fellow employees and superiors. It isn't a gender issue. People are assholes. They don't restrict their assholery to a specific gender. And, unfortunately, some of these assholes are employers and coworkers. I can even agree with the boilerplate reddit definition of "feminism is about equality for all genders". What that fails to recognize is that feminists think that such equality can only be achieved by giving women more rights, taking away the rights of men, or some combination of both. Feminism fails to realize that while women are oppressed in some respects, men are equally oppressed in other respects. The end result is that (in America) we already have gender equality. If feminism is just abou…

I can only speak for the United States. There is no need for feminism here. In some Middle Eastern and African countries? Probably so. If feminists in America spent as much time worrying about true atrocities against women in places like Sudan and Qatar, as they do worrying about whether some construction worker says "good morning" to them in New York City, I'd have a lot more sympathy for their cause.

Feminists define "fake feminists" as anyone who is actually a feminists but reacts differently from how they think they should. I don't know if it is really a "problem" or not, but for lack of a better phrase, the "problem" with your plan is this: Courts currently believe that the child of a Fortune 500 CEO is entitled to more money - a better lifestyle - than the child of teacher. Under your plan, if the CEO's child or the teacher's child was in the custody of a non-income-earning parent, their "need" would be identical and your system would pay them both identically. Does anyone else get the impression that Lacy is just a poor, misinformed lost soul? Unlike most other radical feminists, I can't hate her. I really see her "coming around" in the next 5 or 10 years and realizing how inaccurate her world view is. I've always thought it was tounge-in-cheek. I thought the implication was that a girl who has consensual sex with her teacher is a victim of nothing. But if feminists are going to insist that the girl was a victim, then by god the boy having consensual sex with his teacher is a victim too. In your post, you seem to buy into the idea that a girl having consensual sex with her teacher is a victim. While that can be true, it isn't true by default and isn't true most of the time.

You're never going to stop the intentional, vindictive false rape claims, but we can make some progress on the "confused" false rape claims. Whether it is 7%, 22% or some other number, there are reasons for those differences. Any rational business person would hire a person with a vagina instead of a person with a penis if said business person could get "the exact same work" from the vaginad person for less money.

Men are permitted and expected to cry when they bury a child. Again, it seems like Mr. Porter had strange childhood experiences compared to what I experienced as a chil…

You don't have a say in it as it is legally her decision and her decision alone. But you may be able to influence her decision. What is her reason for refusing an abortion? Knowing that will give some insight into knowing how to influence her decision.

This is pretty much in line with how I was going to respond. I don't really give a shit about any "societal pressures". I'm confident enough in myself that I could really not care less about insults about my masculinity. To me, that isn't at all about what MRAs should be worried about. For me, it is 100% about inequities codified into law (either written or as applied): Alimony, Child Custody, Reproductive Rights, Selective Service, etc.

Legally, however, the rape-ee needs to have communicated a lack of consent in some way. That is the way things should be legally. And in many jurisdictions, that is still currently true. However, on a California campus, that is no longer true. And feminists are pushing, and will continue to push, to have the California campus definition of rape extended to all jurisdictions.

if you follow the rule of only fucking people who definitely into it ... That's why feminists want to get "enthusiastic consent" Which really boils down to: Feminists want to be able to call any sex rape if they decide they want it to be rape. There is no way to be certain that someone is "definitely into it". The could just be scared of what is going to happen if they don't appear to be "into it" so they are faking it. They may be really bad at body language (or their partner could be really ba…

I don't understand why you need anything more than logic. Imagine you own a company that has $5,000,000 in sales and $4,000,000 in expenses. Of those expenses, $3,000,000 is payroll. So right now, you're paying your employees $3,000,000 and earning $1,000,000 yourself. If the pay gap is real, you could replace all your male employees with females and cut your payroll by about $750,000. Then you would be paying your employees $2,250,000 and you'd be making $1,750,000. If the wage gap were real, e…

So in your world (and, apparently, on California campuses)... A couple has been married for 20 years. The guy wants to have sex one night. The woman isn't really into it, but decides to have sex with him anyway. Not because she wants to, but because she feels that sex is an obligation of a long-term, monogamous relationship. Sometimes, she feels, you just do things for your partner even if you don't actually want to do those things. She never tells him she's not into it and does the best she can…

If you're messing around with someone and they freeze up, you need to check in with them asap. You're assuming that a person interpreting themselves as "freezing up" is also interpreted by the person they are with as "freezing up".
/r/MensRights15/10/14 01:58 PM
3

Perhaps I should clarify. I guess I don't doubt that someone could "freeze up" in the scenario I painted. But "freezing up" isn't a reasonable or rational response in such a situation and it doesn't make the other party a "bad person" for continuing under the assumption that all of the consent leading up to that point is continuing since there has been no indication of the withdrawal of that consent.

Actually, in a violent stranger attack I'd be more likely to believe that. What I don't believe is the woman who, after a night of hanging out with a guy, partying, flirting, going back to his place, touching, removing clothes then suddenly gets paralyzed by fear.

Is it just that one little quip about how "we wouldn't expect men to drop everything"? Yes. It is an article about how awesome and liberating abortion is for women, while simultaneously claiming that we don't expect men to accept a life of dimmed hope because of an unwanted pregnancy.

Only the father wins. Right now, only the mother wins if the father doesn't want a baby. How is that any different?
/r/MensRights14/10/14 09:24 PM
9

No. The procedure would be essentially the same as an abortion today; the only difference is that the fetus would live. So, with regard to bodily autonomy, the woman's choice is absolutely no different than it is today: Get an abortion or carry the baby to term. The difference is that getting the abortion no longer absolves the woman of her financial obligation to the future child.
/r/MensRights14/10/14 08:22 PM
12

I feel that when you pressure someone into this decision it has a far more detrimental impact than making the man pay for half of the child's upkeep. How is it "pressuring" someone into a decision? It is simply allowing them to make a decision with full information about the future financial responsibilities. A woman being "pressured" into a choice is worse than a man being given no choice at all? At the worst point, the man isn't being asked to provide more than half of what the child should al…

At that point she is already pregnant, in affect you are pressuring her to abort with the knowledge that she may suffer great financial hardships (as she would be alone) if she were to continue. Why don't you have the same concern for the great financial hardships that men face every day because women choose to continue their pregnancy - sometimes for the sole purpose of punishing the man and extracting money from him.

women are the reproducers and it's their choice to keep the child. Men should be able to opt-out of parenthood early in pregnancy so the woman is making that choice based upon the knowledge of whether or not she will be "doing it alone". But is it really about giving a woman sovereignty over her own body, or is it about controlling men. Imagine a day in the future when an "abortion", rather than killing the fetus, simply moves it to a mechanical womb where it can continue to grow and develop nor…

Why is a film degree any less valuable than a science, math or teaching degree? Either way, within 10 years of graduating, she's going to be out of the workforce caring for children while being supported by a man's labor anyway. Hell, a film degree may be the better option because it is kind of like a lottery ticket: It could be worthless like any other degree, or she might end up working on one hit film that nets her a big paycheck.

I wouldn't limit it simply to false rape accusers. That is just too difficult to know. You never really know whether an accusation is true or false. Even it the accusation results in conviction, it could be false. But it would be nice to have a searchable database of rape accusers - false or otherwise. You meet a new girl, you can do a quick search on your phone. If she comes back with 3 or 4 rape accusations, most guys are going to call it a day an move on to the next chick.

It is moral to do so if you are doing so to report a crime (that said, his wife was not morally motivated--she just wanted to use the recordings to make money for herself). They are both invasions of privacy. They are not fundamentally different. If anything, I think the fundamental difference would be that the Stephen Collins tape was released for the sole and specific purpose of hurting Stephen Collins. They're not wrong about it being sexual assault by today's feminist standard. That's the whole things with Feminism and sexual assault: It doesn't matter whether the "victim" knows, or feels like, she was victimized. If Feminists say she was victimized, then she is a victim. if you get the yes go for it. At Least this is what I've read from other sources. The law requires that consent be "affirmative and on going". Getting the "yes" covers that "affirmative" part, but it fails to cover the on going part. You need to get the "yes" on a continuous basis. The law specifically says that "silence is not consent". So a "yes" follow by silence is initial consent followed by the withdrawal - or potential withdrawal - of that consent.
