The officer can give a warning without acting like an ass. He could and should act in a respectful and professional manner. Threatening rape, intimidation and insults are not behavior becoming of an officer of the law. The fact that this is so common place, and the fact that that many people accept as the norm shows how institutionalized U.S. residents are and how endemic this type of behavior is. Regardless of how reckless the driver was, the Policeman should act professional. If the driver broke the law, then the Policeman should act within the law. He should be professional and civil.
