I'm there with you man, I grew up on the west coast (Portland, OR) and am a classical musician and a good majority of my active facebook friends are feminists. Basically, since the people on facebook can be useful contacts for business, I just don't post anything on there anymore and block useless sites like Gawker and its subsites from appearing on my feed. The CDC found that in 2009 1.27 million men were rape victims whose rapists were overwhelmingly female. They also found that 1.27 million women were rape victims whose rapists were mostly male. If your male profile gets 10 messages per day, you're going to get someone attempting real contact about once per day, have a manageable amount of junk to delete, and one a week someone will harass you. Women still lack equality in many ways. Until they make up 50% of workplace deaths, 50% of suicides, have to sign up for the draft, etc. the work of the women's rights movement will not be done.
