1	Are 'outdated' preferences towards men also misandristic, while the same towards women are deemed misogynistic?" sorry if this is long, it just felt important. the reason why those things can be considered "misogynistic" is if you combine those preferences with objectification. If a woman only has value based to you based on her physical attributes and her appearance does not match them, then she is inherently worthless or of lesser value as a human being. obviously, the same can happen to men, it's just that society as a whole tends to overwhelmingly do this to women.	/r/PurplePillDebate	02/05/23 05:41 AM

I wouldn't say a person's preference is automatically/inherently misogynistic or misandristic. However, as soon as you use them as a way to shame or harass others is where you enter the territory of being misogynistic or misandristic. As an example: ever notice how focused tabloids and media are on the physical appearance of famous women and female celebs?
