Agreed on the part where we can heal. Functional working adult nearing 30. But some scars run deep. There are some nights i sit up wondering how much further I'd be in life if i hadn't spent 15 years healing and spent it like a normal teenager/young adult. And hell, even now I'm full of trust issues. These things stay with you for life, even if only in a small corner of your mind.
