Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsHonestly I think it suits her job and lifestyle much better - and she has come to terms with that in her head. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/04/25 08:24 AM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsJust a little pre-warning that I intend to delete this post for privacy reasons. Thank you for everyone’s input and support it means a lot to me - it’s great to have this community on here and it’s sad to read the stories. I certainly dont think I’m perfect I am not - I have done loads of things wrong but I just don’t get what throwing in the towel solves. Anyways my point being there’s levels of deal breaking right? Adultery for me is no.1 but lack of commitment and taking me for granted is als… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 06:51 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsIt’s interesting because she doesn’t actually earn more than me 😂 or is able to be financially independent 😂 | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 08:32 AM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsHouse is in both names bro. The only option here is to avoid expensive attorneys, and courts and sell house and move on - this is the solution. I will eventually have to come to terms with this. Moving on physically and emotionally after 17 years and 2 kids isn’t something I can just switch on. I can’t just do that. The decision is so massive and unreversable no my eyes once it’s done it’s done. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 06:42 AM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsYou got the nail on the head there - certainly a shift in mentality since getting more money etc | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 06:32 AM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsI really do agree. Infact she continues to threaten me with divorce but doesn’t actually do anything about it - actually last year when I confronted her about her behaviour and what she wants she said she wanted me to move out and when the kids were grown up we’d sell the house abd split the proceeds! | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 06:28 AM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsYes, went to counselling and she accused me of abuse because I get angry - the first thing the counsellor did was to shut this down and validated anger as a normal emotional response. I.e anger doesn’t just sit on its own, and in my case i am regularly provoked, her actions lead to regular anger, frustration and, resentment | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 06:27 AM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsShe has admitted to me recently that for a year she was pushing for promotion and sucking up massively to her bosses at work taking long extended work trips, working late every night and staying out late to try and get on the right side of them - along with this she was also training for marathons going away at inconvenient times to run marathons etc during this time I raised my concerns with her and she took it badly, very badly, and as a personal attack on her and her independence - she did ge… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 06:19 AM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsWell I think I’ve pretty clarified in my original post she was and continues to lead her life relying on me to pick up the pieces, was coming home late drunk, prioritising work over family/kids and generally relying on me to be there all the time, there’s a lot of detail I’ve haven’t shared but at one point I was sorting out kids schools, sorting out kids clubs, sorting out diagnosis for adhd, sorting out all family holidays, sorting out all house renovations, pretty much running the show and ye… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/25 06:05 AM

Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsShe is 44 and I’m 49 - similar we live in 5 bed beautiful home, I really don’t want to downsize and play out my 50s as a single guy. But I guess shit happens. A lot of what has happened seems to align with my wife’s career which has taken off in the last few years and so she’s become more and more engaged with that and her priorities have shifted, she denies it but I have see it, as I’ve supported her throughout her working life… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 10:23 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsYeah I kinda get that feeling actually. It’s a process isn’t it, I’m pretty sure it’ll play itself out naturally as the kids get older it’s just a bit difficult because they are young and I’m not prepared to only see them 50% of the time….I’ll be honest I’ve been in denial for a long time because there were so many good times it’s just unbelievable to me that she wants to throw the towel in after 17 years, absolutely crazy | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 09:43 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsI agree - she wants out then move out | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 09:13 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsI had previously called her a bad mother | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 09:12 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsPossibly, but I’ve asked her, and she said no | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 09:11 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsYes my folks have advised to sell and move on - but I love my kids too much to displace them | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 09:11 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsCan’t afford that | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 09:10 PM
Feeling stuck not sure what to do lack of optionsOk but what about our living arrangements - I just continue? TBH I’m not really interested in getting into another relationship that’s the last thing on my mind - it’s more the companionship I’m missing | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 06:30 PM
