If you have a career that you are dedicated to - money, at least here in US, will follow. I also never relied on SO's income in any major financial planning which helps as well. Make "enough" money, and keep your needs below your means. That's all there is to it. This applies to both chicks and dudes. Nothing sexy about being obsessed with budget. It's just as bad as compulsive shopping. Ps Financially responsible is don't take out insane credits on cars and mortgages.
