Tests are fallible. Not every STI is even able to be detected with a test, such as HPV which may not show up until an abnormal pap smear decades later. It can take weeks for a test to detect others, such as HIV which cannot be detected by tests for months. Herpes is not even included in an STD panel. And so forth. Not to mention false negatives and such. Getting tested regularly is good but the truth is that no matter what, the higher your number of sexual partners, the higher your risk, even if…

Did I write this post in a fever dream? Lol! I really feel similarly to you: I'll see a picture of myself that looks nice and I tell myself I must look different in real life, I used to want surgery on my face, and so forth. The thing that really helps me, at least, is to just try to assess myself very honestly without attaching negative judgment. Rather than label myself "pretty" or "ugly," I tell myself, "yeah, I have an unflattering and pronounced overbite. I have a positive canthal tilt and …

That paragraph you quoted refers only to the formation of secure attachment. Attachment theory is psychology and refers to how a person, through their life, perceives specific aspects of their social relationships. I don't think they mean to say that it is just as good for a child to be raised by a nanny, nor that this never causes any issues for a child. Simply that a child can develop secure attachment under those circumstances. I do agree with you though. There's nothing wrong with working an…

I think you should talk to him because what he's really trying to express to you is that he is willing to spare no expense to give you what you want. If you don't talk to him, then neither of you win: you are uncomfortable, and he didn't give you what you want. But hey, is there something that would make you feel that way? Well, tell him! if you have something you really do want very badly, let him know. Say that you understand that he really wants to show you how important you are but actually …

I do think, from what you've said, maybe you should consider leaving. But if you want to stay you need to sit down and talk to him and try to really hear his feelings. He is trying to express his feelings to you in a really hurtful way but the way through it is to sit down and try to understand what he's trying to say to you and give him sympathy. Try to take his side. You are on a team even if it doesn't feel like it right now. For example, when he tells you you're just bitching or talking shit…

I came here to say this.... I also haven't. But hey, if anyone wants like-minded friends, hi!

To be fair, a paternity test is only a "major life decision" if the result is a surprise. If everyone is being honest and up front, it's a simple medical confirmation of the truth.

I'm in this same boat. My family is adamant we have Native ancestry but I have never met a relative who was anything other than 100% phenotypically and culturally white. They never mention a specific tribe or any specific people being native -- I'm just told I'm "part Indian." I believed them as a child but once my critical thinking skills developed I became convinced it's nonsense.

I really agree with this. I've heard so many stories of women getting extremely upset after being asked for a paternity test. They think it's unfair because they've been faithful. But a lot of people who are being cheated on right now have every reason to believe their partners are being faithful. That's why it's good to have one, because so many people have no idea at all and love and trust their partners. It really should just be standard procedure, instead of a thing that leads to an argument…

Honestly I don't think it's a bad thing to not marry if you both are happiest that way, but you really should think of your future child. There's a lot of stigma around having unmarried parents and people are going to ask your child about it for their entire life. If you are in love and happy you should strongly consider it for your kid. To be honest, I don't know a lot about the financial/legal aspect of all of this, but I wanted to comment on this part in case it is overlooked.

People have done this to me totally unprompted. Both sides of it, actually. I'm very petite but quite busty (28FF) so in baggy clothes I can look chubby. Strangers regularly approach me to tell me I would be more desirable a little heavier and that I would look better with some meat on my bones, or that I'd like nice a bit thinner. I just ignore them. I'm going to be honest, emotionally stable women just get used to feedback about our weight and learn to shrug it off in order to function sociall…

I consider myself pretty red pilled. I think that the extremely high expectations on men to both always be the ones to approach women, and then to not be hurt by rejection, are rather ridiculous. So if I like a man, I tell him. That's how my current relationship started and he still tells me from time to time how hard approaching women is and how grateful he is that I got the courage to tell him how I feel first.

I stayed in a relationship after being cheated on because I contributed to the dynamic that led to the cheating. I was young and not very emotionally available to, or supportive of, my boyfriend at the time, so he sought attention and support outside of the relationship. The relationship ultimately ended because of this dynamic, but I don't regret my choice to work on it after being cheated on. In fact, I think my efforts in doing so helped me learn to be a better partner in later relationships.…

I do agree with your thesis. Sex is physical struggle for me, but I have a very high libido. I rarely orgasm from it, but I love it and want a lot of it. My boyfriend has a lot of difficulty orgasming himself but has a similarly high libido. Sometimes sex between us is just touching and kissing and stimulating each other until we decide to stop. that's still extremely fulfilling for both of us. Orgasms are amazing but shouldn't be the goal of sex--sex should be an expression of feelings. I think…
