You don't need proof to report a suspected crime. That's what being a "suspect" is. Investigators have to prove if you are guilty or innocent. OP is doing his duty as a law abiding citizen. Dudes go through this all the time with domestic allegations and sex crimes but now people are mad because a woman got reported for a lesser crime?
