If it's not in a public setting you could just address it "do we have a problem?" People do this because like you said, they're overall feelings. It's a clear indicator of having a low opinion of you, likely talking poorly of you to others, or resenting some action on your part. People who do this cannot be fixed and even if they do come clean you should probably avoid them.
