That being said, I don’t think you should worry too much when i'm putting myself at risk for a manslaughter charge, i will worry and take every step i can to make sure i handle the situation properly. this is absolutely something to be concerned about, and no offense, but a lackadaisical response like this is very worrisome makes me damn glad i've unsubbed from a sub with this kind of mob mentality.

In some states in the US there are duty to retreat laws when dealing with self defense. Things like this are real, and if it can be shown in court you didnt do what you needed do before, you can be charged with manslaughter if you killed them.
