No need to resort to belittling me when you don't like what I said. It's not very productive. Probably not healthy either. and no I'm not going to cite some research studies to back up that guess. To make my perspective more clear I've interacted with people throughout my life who have gone deeper into the research out there and chosen to trust what they say because it lined up with my experiences and other things I've learned and they seemed like trustworthy people to me and I didn't want to go…

It's just my opinion based off personal experience. I don't care enough to find studies to back up my opinion. no need to get offended and throw insults around.

Sure criticize. I'm all for constructive criticism. What I see here is not exactly constructive.

I don't see what this post has to do wit yes, I don't have empirical evidence and I don't care enough to go search some out. the main point here is that this sub seems to be blindly hateful towards their perception of who this person is for no good reason. not a good look. Even if the comments were right about their assumptions it still does not justify treating her in the way she is being treated here.

Yeah, I guess technically age is probably the leading cause if you live to be old enough. you win. I don't even see porn listed as a cause on any of the top search results. Why? maybe because the mainstream narrative is that porn is good for you so they refuse to acknowledge the harmful aspects of porn. I disagree with the mainstream narrative and don't trust google search for any topic that has a strong mainstream narrative.

Who is shaming ED here? I didn't see anybody doing that.
/r/AntiFeminists24/01/22 08:42 PM

of course she was trying to give good advice. why do so many people in here automatically assume the worst intention?

she was not shaming anybody. she was calling them out for being a toxic echo chamber.

It's probably the leading cause.

Most of the replies to this post seem to be making unfounded assumptions about the person in the screenshot. I don't see what this post has to do with feminism. and for the record I agree with the screenshot. The leading cause of ED is probably porn addiction and it should not be normalized.
/r/AntiFeminists24/01/22 07:54 PM

I agree with her. Porn addiction is probably the leading cause. And ED should not be normalized. IDK how this has anything to do with feminism though.

That's a pretty pessimistic view of the world. What's your solution? Don't start families and allow society to collapse? I say just find someone who is frugal and financially responsible.

Also, not having kids isn't necessarily the end all b Yeah, you don't have to be conservative but I think in general you will find more people who sympathize with this sub reddit on the conservative side. Just because liberal people in general are more on board with a lot of the modern social movements. I think the main difference between friends and kids is that if your able to maintain a good relationship with your kids they are more likely to be willing and able to provide you with the suppor…

https://www.insider.com/what-is-the-divorce-rate-2017-2 Idk why any femenist source would have a bias on this matter. If anything I would think they would favor a higher divorce rate stat.
/r/AntiFeminists16/12/21 07:25 PM

Yes it is a risk for sure. But it might not be as much of a gamble as you think. the common 50% divorce rate being thrown around is wrong. (https://www.insider.com/what-is-the-divorce-rate-2017-2) Chance of divorce varies greatly on a lot of factors. Do your own research on these factors and make changes to decrease the chance or just don't get married if you decide it's too risky. Whatever you do it should be done with much caution and thought. Starting a family is a big deal and an essential t…

Whether or not you should want to live to an old age just depends on what you think the point of life is and what you want to accomplish. This is a hard question I think so I personally want as long as I can get to try and figure it out.

I think there are a lot of great girls out there but maybe they can be harder to find depending on the communities you are in. If you are looking for antifeminists leaning women definitely check conservative / religious circles. But definitely don't recommend anybody who has a completely different religion / belief system than you. I think kids can give a lot of purpose and meaning to life though. So that's one of the biggest reasons why I think married people are more likely to be happy. You re…

Gees, that's a lot of hate for an extremely neutral question. What's up with all the negativity aimed towards questions here? Seems like this group likes to jump to conclusions about intent way too quickly. This post is a great example of that. I haven't seen any good argument for how this post is anything more than a good humored practical joke.
/r/AntiFeminists15/12/21 09:32 PM

No, but I think my friends might. Who thinks her mom put that sign up? What evidence is there for that?
/r/AntiFeminists15/12/21 09:28 PM

Imo I think there is a lot of talking past each other from both sides. In general I think most large groups on average are not morons, they just have a completely different lense of viewing the world which causes them to interpret their experiences completely differently and it hurts to consider that they are wrong. And most (if not all) groups are wrong in at least some aspects.

I think one thing that could help a lot is not demonizing the other side so much. There are some curious people who want to hear the antifeminists perspective (and could actually come to agree with a lot of the points made here) but these people are sometimes immediately turned off when they see the harsh rethoric that a lot of people use in here. Sometimes it seems like the only point of this group is to mock femenist and make assumptions that almost all femenist are horrible people. I doubt th…

I wouldn't call myself antifeminists by any means (but some of the mainstream femenist are a little crazy imo). I think women do face some reall and serious problems. Expecially in the third world. But I also think men face reall and serious problems too. Which gender faces greater problems? Probably women in the third world. I don't think it's so clear who has more problems in the first world though. In my interaction with femenist online I've found they are not willing to tolerate any opinions…

I think maybe you would have more of an argument if we didn't treat our kids like helpless babies until they move out of the house. A lot of people don't really learn much about responsibility until they are closer to 18 or 20 so it would be foolish to allow your kids who you have not given any real responsibility to make decisions that they aren't even close to understanding. I think historically it was more normal to get married younger. Probably partly due to life expectancy but also do to th…

Already done that. Been banned multiple times. That's why I'm here I guess. And that's why my karma is so bad lol I do appreciate groups that don't force an echo chamber by banning anybody who critiques.

You have some good points and you might be right in general. I'm not fully convinced that it's been the demonization and hostility that has made femenism so successful though. I think it's probably more complicated than that but I'm not really knowledgeable enough on what makes movements successful to attempt any guesses. I guess it is true that being loud and saying crazy things does bring a lot of attention and might make people angry enough to campaign on your behalf. This is the problem we f…

I'm just asking questions because I don't really understand the productivity of this group. If this group is just here for you to blow off some steam: fine. Maybe that is a good enough thing. But if your goal is to spread awareness and convince people of how messed up some modern femenist thought is, my personal recommendation would be to be more careful about being unnecessarily harsh and demonizing in rehtoic. You will quickly turn away any curious and open minded visitor which will just make …

Why do you call my questions dumb? I think there are some good points made by some good femenist just like there are some good points made by some anti femenist. Seems foolish to group the good points in with the bad ones and accuse femenist as being like militant Islam.

I never took a side. I'm mostly just scared of the consequences of all these echo chambers the internet enabled. I think the normalization of demonizing anybody who disagrees with you is probably unhealthy for society as a whole. I question whether attacking the opposition is a good long term tactic to promote your worldview. Because the femenist demonization of anybody who questions them has turned off a LOT of people to their narrative. Me included. Maybe it might work for a while. Idk. But I …

Yeah, I think I agree with a good amount of what you said. But I will say weather or not people in here intend to they can come across as a bit harsh towards femenist imo. I'm just worried this group is generally a little bit too harsh in their choice of words which will turn off any curious visitors from the mission of debunking bad aspects of the femenist movement.
/r/AntiFeminists11/12/21 03:32 AM

Sure. Modern femenism can be pretty bad. Do you want to help others to understand that or just alienate them through harsh rethoric? Maybe this is just a place to let off some steam?

I'm not saying there are no crazy feminist. I'm just saying it's not fair to group all femenist in with the crazy ones. The idea that most people agree with these crazy mainstream authors is just propaganda promoted by MSM.

This is the problem: neither side wants to tolerate the opposite opinion which just serves to amplify the problem that both sides are so passionate about. https://www.reddit.com/r/antifeminists/comments/rcgxxv/sigma_male_vs_beta_misandrist_hivemind/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Yes, maybe some mainstream feminist (the ones who make the most noise by saying the most rediculus things) will hold this view. I think the average femenist probably holds a more reasonable stance though. To say femenist was always about female superiority is not true. Maybe it has evolved to be that to some non arbitrary extent.

Yeah, I'm all for equal opportunity and equal rights as is most people. Probably where we might disagree is on questions like "is the wage gap a result of unequal opportunity or is it a result differences in career and life choices?". We also might disagree on what the solution should be when we do find things that appear to indicate oppression of some form. I think equality of outcome is far from equality of opportunity. I will agree that a lot of people in this group at least come across as a little toxic. Despite the fact that a lot of their post are bringing up legitimately toxic problems related to femenism. The only reason I'm here is because I got tired of being banned from feminist groups for asking questions and presenting my point of view.

Pretty good argument. I think the counter argument is something like "your opinion doesn't matter because it's not your body and I don't want to hear your negativity here." *clicks ban button*

To be fair, I don't think you really gave a direct response to her argument of "it's not your body. You don't get to tell other people what they can or can't do with their bodies".
