Sounds like you are almost describing my ex in the early years of our marriage. It doesn’t get better as she can’t see that she has a problem. When times get hard, she will flip on you because she believes she cannot be responsible for any mistakes, financial problems, or physical altercations; You will be blamed for everything.

This. It will escalate eventually. You are not going to be believed when it does escalate, because she will lie and take no responsibility due to her BPD. Get out.

Obviously there is some reason she wants in that is not the absurd reason she is giving. I would definitely alert neighbors and talk to a lawyer and/or police.

I would talk to her. Mediation is going to cost both of you, while talking will not. I would ask her what she wants, rather than revealing anything about your position. Don’t react, just find out the info of what she is going for and how hard she wants it so you have a fair idea of what is negotiable.

Sounds like Borderline Personality Disorder. There is a book, “Walking on Eggshells”, which I found very instructive when my wife was diagnosed with it.

I would recommend not involving CPS. From experience with a female abuser (who did terrible things to children on multiple occasions) diagnosed with multiple mental issues, there were very few consequences for her. CPS officially called it neglect due to her mental health. CPS then requested she attend counseling and have someone around most of the time when she was with the kids for a few months. No criminal charges, no permanent record for her.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
