Yes!! If I had charged a session fee for every time a man tried to work through his mommy or ex issues with me, I’d have a down payment for a house!

My boyfriend got snappy with me when he had a migraine. I misunderstood something and I wasn’t upset that he got snappy, but he still came in a few minutes later to kiss me and sit with me because he felt bad. He also apologizes when I have bad dreams about him. He tells me he’s sorry for upsetting me any time I’m even mildly annoyed. He strokes my scalp when I’m laying in bed with a headache, and gives me full body oil massages without asking or expecting anything in return. Gentle isn’t a qual…

A few years ago for my birthday, I had my ex toss socks at me, while I was sitting on the couch throughout the day. He bought me a bunch of novelty socks...which I love...but thought tossing them at me, one pair at a time and unwrapped , throughout the day, would be funny. There was like one other small gift (a toy figure) other than socks and that was it for the day. No dinner, no cake, no card, no real attempt. This guy used to complain about going out on our anniversary even if I paid and pla…

This. Chasing doesn’t equal love by any stretch. The man who loves you will chase you, but not every man who chases you loves you.

Right? I’ve had both...guys with money and guys without. It seems mostly irrelevant to what kind of person they are. I had someone who appeared to be a HVM at first glance. Smart guy, went to MIT and worked a high paying engineering job...talks about emotions, wanting kids and a family, etc. Second date was a last minute off Broadway show, with an expensive dinner, dressed up and all that. Guess what? Third date...He came over in jeans and a hoodie and ghosted me within a week when I didn’t take…

I just have to say that love Australian slang...I started dating an Australian and he refers everyone as ‘old mate’ which i had never really heard before!

A quick google search and this kind of stuff is out there. And there’s a LVM market for it

It always seems like men think this is a solution to being unhappy in a relationship, and it will solve their problems...then when it doesn’t...they’re just shocked. I think fewer people are truly on the spectrum of poly than there are people who are just afraid of breaking up.

Exactly. I left. I was so done, I stayed longer than I should have for sure...but once I was done, that door was closed. I went to go see the dog a few months ago because she got hurt, and he tried to kiss me! He was with her then!

Scumbag of a character. Yeah and the kicker is, two months ago he said he’d drop her to get back with me. Again, then why are you dating her? One of those ‘if it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no’ moments playing out in real life. You’re lying to one of us, both of us, and probably yourself.

My ex has spent the last 9 months trying to get me to CONTINUE to rehash. We went over this during all the arguments we had before I moved out, all the crying I did in our bedroom telling you I needed more from you for 3 years. No thank you, I’m done talking. And the kicker is that he would be telling me he still loved me and missed me and asking me how to get over me, WHILE HES IN A NEW RELATIONSHIP. Yeah that sounds healthy. You’re dating someone and telling me you’d dump her if I wanted you b…

I know it’s easy to generalize but I have been very very lucky. My last PCP was a woman and she did zero follow up testing for my Celiac. I have a new PCP who’s a middle aged man and has been very kind and compassionate with me from the get go. He was appalled that my prior PCP didn’t follow up with my full blood work and antibody tests. I had some mild abdominal pain and he sent me for a CT scan the next morning, even when I tried to get it scheduled for later in the week. He called me back and…

Mental health! I’ve been managing a residential facility and my stress levels during covid have been though the roof! I’m going back to doing outpatient therapy, which is better for me long term!

I had almost given up applying for new jobs during the pandemic. But I interviewed and accepted a job in my field last week, where full time is considered 20-25 hrs, and I am being paid more hourly so the pay evens out compared to my 40 hour salary now. I’m also going to be fully remote till at least New Years. I am so thrilled to start at the end of the month!

In my life, I’ve know a handful of cops who don’t have some kind of inferiority complex. My uncle was one, one of the kindest and sweetest men I’ve ever known. My brother in law is the opposite...one of the pushiest assholes I’ve ever met, who abuses his authority as an officer any way he can. He has pulled people over when he’s off duty to brandish his weapon...yeah.

Exactly this. There are ways of looking at shit like this, one is his perspective in the post and the other correct.

This. It’s easier to blame it on someone else being shallow, rather them not doing the hard work to be better people.

Too much importance is placed on physical looks by our society. I’m definitely attracted to different people for different reasons. I’ve dated a variety from tall, buff blondes, to short, dark haired skinny dudes. Physical attraction is important to me but what that means to me varies wildly from each man I meet. It can also go the route of a slow build for me, where I become more attracted to someone over time based on their personality...or the reverse where their personality makes them less a…

I just deleted all my dating apps till this round of quarantine blows over. There were a few guys that popped that never responded the first round. Like I’m gonna talk to you two months later, asshole.

My mom always told me to have a career of my own and never NEED to depend on a man financially...a trap she got stuck in by my manipulative ex step father. I have a masters and have been in the counseling field for 10 years now. No matter what, I can get a job in my field.

I personally prefer the men who are a little less polished and have those brief awkward moments. Things don’t feel curated. I understand putting effort is much different than a narcissistic charm type of effort. On a side note, I was on a date the other night and watched a much younger couple on a date next to us. The dude was so awkward it wound up being kind of adorable to watch. He fell out of his chair trying to pick up a lemon wedge he dropped. He also whacked his head on the light when the…

My first real boyfriend when I was 19 used to buy me Victoria’s Secret, bought me diamond earrings and pearl and diamond earring/necklace combo. He used to take me out on real dates regularly. I honestly never got anything as expensive or thoughtful from my ex husband of 10 years or recent ex boyfriend of 5 years. How did this work at age 19 (he was 24) but not 39?!

Oh boy. I slipped last week and got into a casual sex kind of situation. Still have 3 other men that I’m actively seeing, but we met there was some major chemistry and it threw me for a loop. I ignored warning signs that he was ‘burnt out’ and ‘going through something’ and still got involved sexually. Because when we were together, it was comfortable and relaxed and felt amazing. I had zero expectations of where it was going, and thought it would be fun for a while. Which it was, for a week, bef…

My ex husband was on one of my student loans. It was a small one to cover an emergency gap so I could keep working on my masters degree. I’ve now paid that one off, 5 years after we first separated. I still have heaps of other loans. It just depends on context IMO. But acknowledge if they’re a dick about it, it can screw up your credit. I was not a dick and have paid it religiously.

I met a guy for the first time recently and we hugged and he followed with full on kiss with tongue. However, the context of our conversations leading up to that point, made it clear that that would be ok with me coming from him. I would have said something immediately if a guy had done anything that made me uncomfortable. I hope you spoke up.

One guy on Hinge literally answered the prompt ‘one thing I’d love to know about you...’ with ‘I’m all set actually’. So yeah, not going out with that guy. So many don’t give a shit at all, it’s all about them.

110%. My ex husband wasn’t broke but just getting by. No flexibility. Talked big about wanting to do other jobs, make a shift in his career, fix up his portfolio, etc. I told him I wanted to eventually move out of state a few years before we broke up, and he had time to do all those things before I started seriously looking. He never did and it was part of the reason I dumped him and moved 9 hours away.
