I think it’s the whole you tryna come to her rescue and sweep her off her feet away from creepy boyfriend that makes it seem like a kinda white knight thing, I’m not saying you’re wrong for liking this girl and wanting to help her but like you said she made her choice here and I don’t think getting involved is going to have any ideal outcomes for either.

Obvious advice but just try to relax, if it feels forced or there’s tension it won’t come of smooth or genuine, just go with the flow

I’d strike up normal convo like “hey I see you take this bus a lot, how are you?” Kinda normally, then at her/your stop say something about it was nice talking to her and offer her your number, that way you’re not being objectifying and it’s up to her to text or call you if she’s interested.
