I don't disagree. It absolutely should be deleted.

This sub isn't suppose to be a "blanket anti-women" sub. The sidebar says: "THIS IS NOT /R/BEATINGWOMEN. /r/pussypassdenied is not for misogynists, racists, or otherwise douchy types of individuals. To be clear: PPD DOES NOT MEAN THAT A WOMAN NEEDS TO REFER VERBALLY TO HER GENDER. FEMINIST ACTS, A MAN DEFENDING HIMSELF, AND OTHER SITUATIONS WHERE WOMEN DO SOMETHING THAT IMPLIES THEY WILL SUFFER NO REPERCUSSIONS ARE FAIR GAME."

I mean, I won't deny anyone their harmless catharsis. But when it becomes a haven for actual prejudice that's where I draw the line.

I just think it's a slippery slope. I get that it's cathartic, but these subs easily turn into hate breeding grounds. Less relevant stuff gets posted, more rational people start jumping ship, the chamber generates more echo, and whadda ya know you have a full blown hate sub. I've seen it happen and it's really sad.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a "pussy pass" when a woman tries to use her gender to her advantage? How is this relevant to the sub?

Is this out of context?

You are assuming so much about me that it makes it exceptionally difficult to have a conversation with you. You automatically assume that I am against your point of view instead of unexposed to it. If you present your side in a hostile manner, am I going to be more or less open to receiving it? If you want your side to be understood, why insist on treating me as if I'm lesser simply because I have a different point of view? The diffusion of ideas is non-existent in the format you're insisting on…

Firstly, I would like to question why you're so hostile with me. Secondly, I never mentioned anything about limiting boys, and I never mentioned anything about biological differences being the issue. Furthermore, I am perfectly capable of advocating for girls and women without being against boys and men. It is a fact that women are not entering STEM fields nearly as much as men do. I have never claimed, or even believe, that this is caused by their sex. What I do believe, and what we try to comb…

No, but we did indeed have boys only programs just as we had girls only programs.

Former after-school educator. We would often set up "girls only" tech classes simply because they're designed to get girls specifically more interested in the subject. Our boys already had a high interest in tech and science, but our girls would often shy away from it. We had a general program for all of the children, but the vast majority of the turn out were always boys. The unfortunate reality is that young girls often perceive tech and science to be a subject they wouldn't be interested in, …

That's a really excellent point. I'll chew on it for a little bit.

One issue does not take away from another. Your issues matter just as much as mine, and they don't have to fight with each other to matter.

..what? Lol. How is my opinion irrelevant? We're not talking about scientific facts, we're literally talking about differing opinions on the definition of Feminism. I don't understand where you're coming from where my opinion is irrelevant in a conversation about how you and I view feminism. They're both opinions. Furthermore, how am I suppose to defend someone telling me I have views I don't have other than saying "No, I don't share those views"? Do you want some kind of evidence or..?

You would be wrong in that case. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the label feminist and I'm not afraid of the label. I would rather address the concerns that are brought up with it than change entirely. Not only because of the history behind it, but because it creates a more rounded discussion, in my opinion. We might not agree on the label, but that is the least important part of the issue. I like being called a feminist, I like when people bring up the issue of misandry and men's ri…

Egalitarianism -> Feminism/Men's Rights One deals with women specific issues. One deals with men specific issues. Both under the umbrella of egalitarianism. I will never think the phrase "I don't need feminism because..." isn't dumb. You can have one without taking away from the other.

The photo is a comedic representation of real concerns that men have. I'm a woman, I value women's issues. However I think there is a distinct lack of conversation between people due in part by the fact that everyone is so hostile right out of the gate. Take a minute to stop being offended and you'll hear the concern behind the meaning of the image and the words in most of these comments. Equality stems from understanding and compassion, not yelling louder and more fiercely.

A lot of the conversations I'm seeing are very informed and thought out. Men are venting about problems that affect themselves, and there's nothing wrong with that. Paying attention to (and not automatically dismissing) each other's concerns, in my opinion, is the real first step to equality.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
