I'm a woman so I don't know if this counts, but I'm quite comfortable talking about men's issues and the additional awareness that they need. 2	Serious question: Am I full of shit or is this an overreaction? I don't have many ideas, there's only so much you can do in a world where people tend to want a "team" to be on and something to "win." I wish I had a different answer. I'm a woman, so I just try to educate my friends on men's issues (mainly legal bias against men, suicide rates, social expectations, etc) and try to show them that these issues don't mean women's issues are unimportant. Not questioning your views is ignorant and the mark of someone too stubborn to be open to new ideas. That is the #1 way to prevent yourself from learning something new or seeing something in a new way. Confirmation bias is a huge issue. There are extremists and assholes on both sides. One of the dumbest misconceptions about gender issues is that one gender's rights invalidates the other. Both genders have inequalities and issues. Women's rights do not invalidate men's rights. Men's rights do not invalidate women's rights. It is possible for both genders to both have issues that are specific to them.
