“Pride Month began after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in 1969.” “Since 1994, June has been recognized as Men's Health Month.” Your entire premise is backwards. And one doesn’t take away from the other. People can care about two issues at once. Go fix your mental health and stop looking for scapegoats.

He’s not innocent. He was court martialed by the US military for crimes committed against the US while on active duty. Fuck that guy. Using him as a prop is pure propaganda.

Stop arguing and listen to these valid criticisms. That’s the mature thing to do. As this commenter pointed out, you’re not mature, you’re just driven and very serious, very full of yourself, overly judgmental, and sound like not a lot of fun. Fun and maturity are not opposites or mutually exclusive. Your description of yourself and criticism of others doesn’t show emotional intelligence, self-awareness, social intelligence, humility, and all kinds of other things you’re clearly lacking that you…

Hahahahahaha. You think you know more/better about Catholicism than the fucking pope AND the bible. Just start calling yourself a Christo-fascist already, that’s clearly your real religion.

Exactly! The mother is the womb, so when her life is in danger abortion is permitted by Catholicism. Likewise when the baby cannot survive. Several states now have blanket abortion bans which violate catholic doctrine. And again, Biden is pro-choice because his religion shouldn’t dictate anyone’s right to bodily autonomy and healthy care. But assuming that he believes and acts on everything the Vatican approves of, that still means his pro-choice stance is closer to catholic doctrine than blanke…

The Vatican supports abortion in life-saving cases. The Bible states clearly that life begins at first breath. You are 100% wrong and so are the states with blanket bans even according to the church. Your statement is entirely false. The pope is a catholic and supports abortion in life-saving cases. Please stop arguing and look it up. You’re already on the internet, so make good use of it instead of showing people how ignorant you are. Also, he supports the right to choose because he doesn’t let…

The Bible states clearly that life begins at first breath. Those fetuses don’t have souls according to the Bible. The church allows for abortion in certain cases. The GOP are defying freedom of religion in their blanket ban of abortion. Also, he supports people’s rights to their own bodily autonomy, not abortion. Because we live in a democracy and have inalienable rights, not in a theocracy. You want that get the fuck out of America and go live in Afghanistan or Iran.

First off, the Bible says life begins at the first breath. So no. Also, he doesn’t support abortion, he supports choice and rights to bodily autonomy. He recognizes, like the medical community does in cases concerning organ donation and blood donation and choice over surgeries, that people have a constitutional right over their own bodies and that fetuses that cannot survive outside of a womb are not people and thus don’t have rights. A dead person who didn’t sign their drivers license to be an …

So add to the conversation instead of complaining and blaming women for getting off their asses and doing something about it from their perspective: write articles, start a body positivity IG page and post pics, start a podcast or YouTube channel to talk about the male side of this issue.

Who said I accept friend requests from randoms hoping to get naked pics? You did. Then you called me a pervert for something you thought of that isn’t real. Your limited life experience is not indicative of all that there is. Also, why are you making it about you? Instead of only leaning on what you have personally experienced, you could look up whatever subject is in question and actually learn about it. All research into the subject has shown there are dozens of working open relationships that the couple keeps quiet about for every one you hear about failing. And the reason you hear about the ones that failed is because those are salacious items f…

Exactly. Breakups happen all the time and then you can go back to being single and fucking everything that moves until the next one comes along that’s worth giving up the single life for. But you might want to look into open relationships. A lot of men would be surprised by how many women would be down for something less rigid and limiting and with more room to explore sexually.

Not at all. Upping your body count just for the sake of it and denying yourself meaningful relationships is a great way to feel empty inside and miss out on some of the most profound experiences a person can have. When you’re single, fuck everyone you want. But some people are worth giving up being single for. And if you’re like me, maybe something in between like an open relationship is what works best so you don’t have to choose between one extreme or the other. Either way, do what’s best for …

This is such an incredibly dumb take from someone who admits that they have zero firsthand knowledge of this phenomenon. People get divorced for all kinds of reasons, doesn’t mean they’re going to saddle you with baggage. Also, non-married people come with serious baggage all the time. First off, you have a sad, pathetic, gross, angry, miserable outlook on life. The only loser in this scenario is you. My stepdad could have had almost anyone, but chose my mom because they complemented each other. Also, my mom had her choice and chose him and his kids. Also, she would never waste her time on a loser like you. Why are you and OP taking this phrase as a condemnation of single guys?!? It’s comparing good step dads to dead best bio dads. It’s not about you. Why are you making it about yourself? I think the phrase is cheesy as hell, but as the child of a deadbeat, abusive dad who abandoned his family, I’m grateful for my stepdad for taking on a family when he didn’t have to. So cheesy or not, the phrase is about stepdads who happily took on the role of primary father figure for kids whose bio-dads couldn’t give a fuck about them.

1) this doesn’t meet the definition of discrimination. Not even close. What you’re describing is rejection. And you’re getting rejected for good reason as detailed below. 2) inviting them over for a first date is always a bad idea because they genuinely do have to worry about their safety. Most rape is date rape. So even asking is already a red flag to most women even if cooking for others is a nice gensture since you’re a complete stranger and no one should trust complete strangers enough to co…

Given that OP you are accepting the friend request from these random women, who you don’t know, for the express reason of being able to ogle their sexy photos, then I don’t think it’s unsolicited for them to offer you more. And you can say no. If they keep offering you more than what you consented to, or send you nudes against your consent, then THAT would be harassment. But what you described is not harassment.

Selling a product (photos and vids) is different than a coworker or otherwise trying to fuck you in real life though. Two mitigating factors are that some anonymous person over the internet doesn’t have access to you and that intent matters.

/r/MensRights23/08/22 08:31 PM

No it doesn’t. Ads are different than a person physically or verbally harassing you. Pornhub’s banner ads aren’t sexual harassment. Neither are people adding their OF links to social. You don’t have to click it. If someone is harassing you at work in your physical space or cyberstalking you you can’t get away from it. That’s harassment. On social you can unfollow. This is some wild, asinine dumb crybaby false victim bullshit you and OP are trying to argue.
/r/MensRights23/08/22 02:37 PM
-2

Way to sidestep the actual topic. Oxford defines sexual harassment as “unacceptable physical contact, comments about sex, etc., usually happening at work, that a person finds annoying and offensive.” No one is making unwanted touches or comments toward or about you. OP is complaining about advertising. Not anywhere near the same thing.
/r/MensRights23/08/22 01:59 PM

Do you feel threatened or intimidated by it? No. Just annoyed. So not harassment. There solved it for you. Now stop distracting with petty bullshit and get to talking about actual human rights issues pertaining to men.

You said “this guy cannot change and it’s not his fault” which is extremely ignorant and bigoted. Setting aside that most people need to have a connection with someone they’re going to sleep with, it’s because most straight guys are bad at sex, and while “bad sex” for guys means it wasn’t great, for women that can mean it’s painful or even cause serious injury. Even if it’s not painful, women are very unlikely to orgasm from casual sex because most men don’t make getting them off a priority and are only focussed on their own pleasure (or genuinely don’t know women’s anatomy and how to get wo…

This is such extremely insecure behavior. You admittedly have no reason for distrusting your partner, yet you distrust her in the worst way, need outside validation despite knowing all of this, sneak around her back and local laws to quiet your irrational insecurity… this is so sad. It’s funny and sad that you use language like “pump and dump” and in doing so assume that the guy dumped her and not that she got sick of a fuck boy. They’re just people like anyone else. The fact that you even categorize them as “hot girls” shows that you think of them differently. They’re not another species. It’s an individual who you’re attracted to. Just treat that person like another guy who you’d be interested in being friends with and getting to know better. The more you remember that they’re just people and get over your own attraction to them the faster you’ll be able to approach them and not get nervous.

First off, almost no rape happens between strangers. Just want to clear up that common misconception. Almost all cases of rape involve a perpetrator who is known by the victim (date rape, significant other, friend, relative, boss or coworker, etc). That said, some partners are ok with their partner grabbing them and trying to have sex with them in their sleep and some aren’t. That’s actually a specific kink. If you’re coming up with witty, funny remarks on the moment (which is always a good thing) that’s literally the exact opposite of a “line” which is premeditated and generic, not specific to the person or environment or situation, etc. What you’re talking about is just being a good conversationalist and generally an engaging person to chat with, which is always good, vs cheesy pickup lines which are always a bad idea.

I feel sad for you that you think this is a good idea. If you can’t open up to your significant other than you don’t have a significant other. Either you’re only dating scumbags who actively exploit any weaknesses, which is you fault for dating complete pieces of shit, or you’re never lasting long enough in a relationship or getting close enough to anyone get to the point where opening up and letting your guard down is absolutely what you should be and need to be doing, or you just have serious …

Don’t share extremely personal stuff with people who you don’t already completely trust. She clearly was a POS given her reaction and you hadn’t figured that out yet. Sorry it took such an extreme reaction for you to learn that tough lesson, but hopefully you won’t make that mistake again. But the lesson there is to learn how to figure out who’s trustworthy, not that you can’t open up to people you trust and who genuinely care about you.

This is dumb as fuck and will lead to mental health issues. You’re supposed to be vulnerable in front of people who care about you and whom you can trust. Bottling it all up and only letting it out when you’re alone makes things way worse. Should you completely lose your shit? No, but having self-control is part of being a mature adult. But if you’re not able to open up and cry in front of a significant other than there is so much wrong with you and/or your relationship that it’s hard to know wh…

You sound like you need therapy. Shame and guilt are often associated with sex, but it shouldn’t be that way it sounds like you’re on the extreme end of it. I think it would really help you to talk to a professional and work through those feelings so you have a healthy understanding and approach to sex and dating.

Pretty simple: just say “cool, happy to get to know you more first” and then ask her questions about her life. Text back and forth with her for a few days and then ask her out again.

She said “along with flirting and being confident.” She’s not negating game at all. She’s just saying take basic care of yourself to not start out from being in a hole because she and most other women won’t give you a chance after that, so your game is irrelevant if you’re not baseline presentable. And people are arguing with her and downvoting her when it’s pretty common sense (aside from the voice thing that’s not something you can control much).
/r/seduction31/01/22 09:34 PM

Except that people are arguing with it up and down in the comments. So no. You and I think it’s unnecessary since it’s so basic and obvious. But most of the people on this thread are claiming it’s wrong and bad advice.

Them hating on a woman and her perspective is exactly why they’re still here looking for, giving, and taking bad advice: they don’t actually want to grow or change/evolve as people. They just want to keep doing the same weak, ineffective bullshit and have other dumb misogynists tell them that they’re killing it.

I actually can’t even believe you’re getting downvoted. This is basic, bare-minimum shit about higiene and grooming for the most part. This sub is laughable trash filled with trash humans with the occasional self-aware person looking for and giving valuable advice. The specific things he’s pointing out and claiming are exclusively female ways of thinking/acting are not in any way exclusive to females and are demonstrably common behaviors in males. Women aren’t another species. Men do this to women too. Just because you don’t get it doesn’t make it a mystery. Your world view is incredibly stereotype driven. You definitely didn’t say that. No, it’s just single women and single men below 40. The gay population pushes the percentages even farther to the advantage of single/straight men. This article really puts it in perspective. There are almost double the number of 20-24 years old females in NYC than 20-24 year old males. Scroll down to the table to see. If he wanted to talk to and pick up someone vapid he could, it’s just not his preference. You’re arguing with someone on their opinions/taste. Holy shit, this couldn’t be more wrong. Like literally everything you said. It’s so much easier to have casual sex in NY than anywhere else. It’s a 65-35 split between single women and single men under 40. Almost two girls for every guy. And they’re all DTF. I’m not trying to judge you in any way, but the other reply here is right. Everyone in NY is savy and the weak game that works on women elsewhere doesn’t work in NY. Sorry you had a bad experience, but you clearly needed to step it up.
/r/seduction12/01/22 05:10 PM

You’re misreading what he’s saying. It’s not about goals, he has a hard time talking to vapid women, and so do I which is why I prefer women in NY over LA, Miami, or Vegas because they can actually hold a conversation and have depth to them.

NYC and it’s not even close. 65 percent of the population between 18-40 is female and most are hot AF (models, actresses, and women who moved there to live the Sex and the City lifestyle). Almost 2 girls for every guy and they’re fun, down, and sophisticated as well. It’s a single guy’s dreamland.

A lot of guys make the mistake of trying to impress girls to stand out and end up talking at them and not with them. Girls want to see you taking an active interest in them, not make them question if you might be a narcissist. You have ti fight the urge to show off to them, which is a huge turnoff, and trust that your calm, cool, and collected quiet confidence will be more than enough (they find this a huge turn on). 95% of Black murder victims are killed by Black people. 91% of white murder victims are killed by white people. Men make up 97% of all murderers. Not all gender discrepancies are a result of discrimination. Some are self-inflicted. You can find similar stats on all violent crime, drug related crime, robberies, etc. in every country on earth. Men commit more crime than women. That’s why more men are in jail. Harsher sentencing might exacerbate that a little, but not enough to make up for the discrepancy when you look at the overall crime stats.

No, I definitely understand. You’re just confused, so your best efforts to explain it to me fall short. Misogyny is definitely what you’re talking about. That is misogyny.

What you said is textbook misogyny, though I don’t think you’re doing it maliciously. When you say “male energy” and “female energy” you’re just talking about assertiveness. That doesn’t have a gender. Even if you were talking about a Dom/sub situation, while men tend to be dominant that’s still not a given. But you called me ignorant based on an opinion, which is not a lack of knowledge. Meanwhile, your description of gender role stereotypes is pretty ignorant.

No one is dismissing them, I’m dismissing your attempt to co-opt their efforts for your agenda. These men volunteered for this. No one forced them or pressured them. And they’re not looking for sympathy, let alone your attempt to martyr them. They volunteered to put in some hard work to help others in need. And if they develop mental health issues as a result of this then they should confide in loved ones and seek out mental health professionals to help them get through it. If any of those loved…

“Expected” is like “required” but with social standards and social pressure as the enforcers instead of legally being bound to or forced to. What things are you shamed for or otherwise penalized for socially if you don’t live up to it?

As the APA, all they’re saying is that taking traditional masculinity too far can be unhealthy. And that’s true. For example: men suffer all kinds of physical health issues because our diet is too meat-heavy, much of which is due to pressure from other men to eat like a cave man and not eat “girlie” things like salad, or giving other guys a hard time for watching their weight and watching what they eat because that’s “gay.” To some men taking any amount of care for yourself physically is somehow…

First of all, don’t let the extremist outliers represent the while in your mind. It is a very small percentage of feminists who hate men. The term feminist literally means for the EQUALITY of the sexes, aka women treated equally to men. Yes, there are some extremists who hate men. Just like there are very a small number of black people who hate white people when almost all black people just want to just be treated equally and have equal opportunity. Almost all LGBT people don’t hate straight peo…

Ok,so you were making a separate point entirely. The subject we’re discussing isn’t the difficult jobs of and potential PTSD for firefighters, police, or EMTs m, or military. We’re specifically talking about these factory workers here in this situation and how “toxic masculinity” doesn’t apply to this situation in any way.

Read the article. “No one told them they had to do it, Braskem America CEO Mark Nikolich said. All of the workers volunteered.” They chose to take on a difficult task. No one hartases them about “manning up” or “stop being a pussy” or to “tough it out” or hazed then ir harassed them in any way. They chose to take on a difficult task for the benefit of others and were presided for their efforts, not bullied into them and throughout. This does not even come anywhere close to the definition of toxi…

If they were doing those hours as a full-time permanent job, yes. But there’s nothing specific to male behavior about that, it’s just job stress. You clearly don’t know what toxic masculinity is. If they developed mental health issues because they were being hazed, or harassed, or routinely told to “man up” and “tough it out” by male coworkers or bosses after mentioning that they were developing mental health issues then THAT is toxic masculinity. Working long hours is just working long hours.

Uh, hard no. That’s ridiculous. Is everyone who doesn’t do it shamed for not doing it? Or fined? Or in some other way penalized for not doing what’s “expected?” No. Because it’s not expected. It’s a nice thing to do that’s going beyond what’s expected, it’s EXTRA-ordinary on the part of the person doing it, it is not expected or required at all.

Those jobs are very different than working in a factory for long hours and sleeping there for a few days/weeks. All of those jobs are exposing you to trauma and other people’s trauma, and that can be very damaging. But the jobs themselves have nothing to do with toxic masculinity. If you want to say that there are toxic environments within those jobs that involve superiors or colleagues that exhibit harassing behavior, hazing, creating a code of silence and telling traumatized coworkers to “man …

No. For so many reasons. Taking on a difficult task for the benefit of others is not going to give them PTSD or anger issues or any other mental health condition. It’s a difficult task, but not anything that will cause lasting harmful effects. If anything it will probably be beneficial to them as it’s shown that engaging in charitable causes and caring for others boosts your own sense of well-being.

Based on everything you said and the combatitive tone younger taking in digging in versus having a discussion about this it doesn’t seem like you’re interested in learning what’s wrong or missing from your opinion on the matter. But if I’m wrong, feel free to check this out: https://www.apa.org/about/policy/boys-men-practice-guidelines.pdf

No. The actual definition is if it is toxic to a man’s mental or physical health. Being tough is good, being tough all the time to the point that you completely bury all of your feelings until you have uncontrollable outbursts or anger management issues or depression is toxic. It’s like too much of a good thing ends up being a bad thing.

No one expects that of people though. And when people choose to make an unexpected sacrifice it’s almost always appreciated, as is the case here made evident by this article celebrating their selflessness.

No. Someone giving their time and effort for the benefit of others is charity. That is not toxic in any way. It’s not unhealthy mental or physical behavior. In fact, caring for others is an extremely healthy behavior. If someone called them a bitch or a simp or a cuck for helping others THAT would be toxic masculinity.

Look up and down this thread. I cited multiple sources throughout for multiple points/stats, just not on this reply. Not saying you, but it’s frustrating arguing with people on the internet about easily accessible information when they could use the computer or phone that thwyMre on to google the information themselves and instead make me do it for them, usually because they’d rather not know so their pre-existing and unwavering world view would go unchallenged.

Yes, it’s that easy to make things up. Legit stats, made from a sample size large enough to extrapolate out, is data. Someone randomly saying “90%” is not the same as actually researching the issue and obtaining quantifiable data.

It’s not RAINN. There seems to be limited data on the percentage that lead to a plea deal. You assumed plenty about me and what I think about this issue and claimed that I’m making things worse for victims. My 8% stat was just about rape, not including sexual assault, and I cited it. So if you want to take issue with that study, its methodology, its conclusions, fine... but that’s not what you did. You made baseless assertions about who I am and what I believe and outright inferred that I’m part of the problem. “According to FBI statistics, out of 127,258 rapes reported to police depa…

You’re assuming a lot and it’s literally the opposite of both my values and actual history with this issue, and the point of what I was saying. I’ll take your word for the first stat. As for the rest, that’s not even close to accurate. There’s a variety of factors for the low conviction rate: 1) they can prove a rape happened, but not beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant did it. And this happens all the time 2) rape kits need to be done immediately, which isn’t necessarily possible, and even then it’s been shown over and over again that Kira go untested by the police on a routine basis. 3) without physical evidence or witnesses …

First off, don’t put words in my mouth or assume what I believe. I didn’t downplay female rapists at all. Ever. I know the prevalence of female rape against men, of the greater likelihood of female teachers to rape teen boys than male teachers raping teen girls, as well as the vast number Im of unreported male by male rape victims and male by female rape victims because of the shame of victimhood (similar to the reason behind many unreported female rape victims). That said, you’re taking all of …

“Most of them go to jail.” 95% of rape trials do not end in a conviction. 92% of rapes go unreported for a variety of reasons including that first statistic. So of the 8% of rapes that are even brought to police, 5% end in a conviction. You, statistically speaking, couldn’t be any more wrong.

I’m not a legal expert, but I can interpret basic evidence and witness testimony, not to mention the fact that you me of the defendants fled the country to escape an obvious jail sentence. Good for you, you strong tough individual you. You’re so much better than these people That you can now look down on for knowing that they’re weaker or more naive than you based on your own judgement of you. As for the people involved in this criminal case: They didn’t allow the girls to read the contracts. They also didn’t allow them to leave the room, or get their plane ticket home until they agreed to do things that they originally hadn’t agreed to. In several cases they physically intimidate…

Read their testimony. They weren’t allowed to read the contracts and were threatened into doing things they hadn’t agreed to. Don’t blame the victim. There are criminals in this story and it’s not the girls. Your vitriol is directed towards the wrong party. You would hate it if someone told you you were stupid for getting mugged or burgled or defrauded or otherwise victimized.

No. Should, shouldn’t, whatever. There’s a market for porn. And if they do decide to do it to make money, which is a legal though non-traditional profession, the other side is still obligated to obey the law, which they didn’t. So no, it’s not at all like a loan shark. It’s like a movie production company decided to violate a bunch of laws, which is exactly what happened.

Oh, ok. That’s why the camera MAN corroborated their story. Not everything can be blamed on gender bias. This is a cut and dry case of intentional fraud. Just curious, is there anything aside from gender that makes you disbelieve 20+ people who are all able to tell the same story and details independently versus the defendants, and even their lawyer, who can’t keep their story straight?

The girls were repeatedly misled about the distribution of the film, what they would be asked to do on film, how long they would be filming, etc. and in some cases threatened them with non-payment or withholding their plane ticket back home if they refused to continue. Most were also forced to sign legal documents waiving their rights without being given a chance to read it. Multiple people involved have testified that this all happened and it was by design. This is textbook fraud.

The amount we’d save in eliminating the FBI compared to endless and unnecessary foreign wars, the drug war, private prisons, and so many other needless and wasteful programs is minuscule. And he difference there is that they serve a necessary purpose. Also, the FBI doesn’t make the laws that are “forced” on people. Elected officials (and their lobbyists) do. The FBI are just federal cops that enforce those laws across state lines. The FBI existing is not a violation of the constitution. By law, …
