they are trying desperately to find ways to get control of the internet I don't think it'll succeed. Back in the 70s there were CB radios. People suddenly could say whatever they wanted in complete anonymity, and its popularity skyrocketed. CB radios became a pop culture phenomena. The only difference between CB radio and the Internet is that the Internet is a little less ephemeral. Chat rooms are very ephemeral. Forums like Reddit have a discussion lifetime of at least a day, and some maybe eve…

This is all because of the Internet. For the first time (in a long time), men people are able to speak their minds without having to worry all that much about the backlash. Edit: Not just men, but all people. And it's not just men's rights issues, but all sorts of issues which are being discussed. Our "betters" have lost control.

It's never okay to leave children in the care of mothers who will poison their minds, but the legal system is tipped in their favor. Recognize your limitations and don't beat yourself up over it. There are dozens of other problems in mankind's future, and most of them are outside your direct control. Don't let worry overcome your soul.

I think you're on to something. The world is ruled by alphas who don't give a damn about the remainder. Many of them are clinical psychopaths. Both men and women engage in "virtue signalling" by pretending to care about the alphas' victims. Meanwhile, women despise the male portion of the remainder for being "weak", while men are always in competition. Maybe it's not hate, so much as contempt.

An interesting point of view, but probably bad advice. Suicide is usually a way to escape pain. Your "solution" seems to promise more pain in the future, which would put the OP right back to where he's at right now.

sprint to your dreams and desires Except the desire to be cared about, and the dream that you are. You wouldn't be here if someone didn't care about you at some point in your life. Your parents wouldn't have been there unless someone cared about them. And their parents, and their parents' parents, all the way back to the beginning of time. It sucks that we just can't depend upon that any more. The pain of losing that is valid and real. It's natural to mourn, but like all mourning, eventually you…

The kid can still have a birth certificate. Well, of course. I was thinking through the details of the proposal from the libertarian, non-intervention-in-anything point of view. But your argument from a basic fairness perspective is watertight, man. This should be one of the basic demands of the men's rights movement. It's revolutionary, really. For the first time in history, men have access to a basic right enjoyed by women for all our previous history - a guarantee (without being an absolute a…

I firmly believe that a PT should be required for a name to be entered onto the birth certificate AND before a single cent is collected in Child Support. I think that's a great idea. What your proposal does, is relieve the pressure on the man who might suspect that his partner's baby is not his own. Making paternity testing a matter of course, relieves the pressure on both partners, even when both are completely innocent, but will reveal the highly skilled cheats among females. However, one coul…

Not lately, not in response to today's women. The women of today don't deserve the kind of respect that women used to enjoy. It's no wonder that "women firsters" are a dying breed.

So how does "men's rights" fit into your view of the traditional male? Do you think that the legal system treats men fairly? Would you say that the current state of the law increases, or decreases, the possibility that men might enjoy the right to carry on the traditions you espouse?

American men seem to have forgotten the basic survival instincts of their ancestors. Just maintaining your dignity, and refusing to be conned, is a part of an ancient system of honor, which had once kept men from being cuckolded. While I condemn the manner in which many men behaved towards women in the past, particularly any sort of violence, not having any kind of norms in place in society to prevent cuckolding is worse. Or at least, pretty fucking awful. Maybe this won't "make men's rights tak…

It's not really about the money. It's more about learning what your rights are, what is to be expected of you, and the woman in question, how to" fight for those rights, and finally, learning to fight for those rights. Feminists started teaching women self-defense years ago, their first obstacle was convincing women that they needed to learn it. That took convincing them not to take whatever happens to them passively, but to believe they ought, nay must, fight back. Only then did they have the i…

Not in public. There are "male privileges" in private institutions, especially religious ones. Most churches do not ordain women. Freemasons is still a mens-only club. I'm not aware of any formal "male privileges" in the public realm. Among informal privileges, I suppose the "slut vs stud" double-standard exists, because of biology.

This is painful. Near the beginning of this blog post, she links to the article she wrote "How Atheism Can Make the World Better By Tearing Down Religious Irrationality I followed that link, and read it in full. I really liked it. It sounds like she understands how rationality challenges fundamentalist beliefs which had been used to oppress others, not only women, for so long. I was sold. Rebecca's position was fine, up to the point where she felt the need to "fault" someone in public. The man In the elevator accepted her refusal when she said "no". She could have been gracious and left it at that. That she felt the need to castigate all males, for one man's totally innocuous behavior, is more a fault in her character, than ours.

What struck me as ironic was the angry rant directed at Dawkins by Jen McCreight at her blog BlagHag: Words matter. [...] You don’t have people constantly explaining that you’re subhuman, or have the intellect of an animal. You don’t have people saying you shouldn’t have rights. You don’t have people constantly sexually harassing you. You don’t live in fear of rape, knowing that one wrong misinterpretation of a couple words could lead down that road. Did you catch that? Not suggesting you're a troll, but that was the best parody of a mens rights advocate I've ever come across. You pretty much captured the essence of how the other side sees us - miserable, neurotic, insecure, and bound to become violent. You highlight the problem that always arises when I focus on the aspect of the problem which affects me, in order to protect myself and defend my particular rights. Because the problem is bigger than "men's rights", or "racism", or "homelessnes", or "corporate g…

Partly true. Note kanuk876's point about SIDS cases. The book he quotes looks interesting, too. many of the patterns of abuse and neglect that we see in cultures around the world (including, of course, our own) are neither unpredictable nor maladaptive in evolutionary terms. "Mother" Nature, as she points out, is not particularly concerned with what we call "morality." See also this oft-linked essay by Brad Hicks

Please explain the link between piracy and global temperatures. The best theory I can come up with, is that the rise of piracy has left the capitalist class feeling unprotected and betrayed, so they have fewer compunctions against anti-social activity, like releasing massive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere....? That's the best I could do, and it's extremely tenuous. Could you explain your reasoning? I'm afraid I'm not intelligent enough to make the connection on my own. The theory above seems…

erm, you apparently do come here to read things like this, because the article is about a father in trouble with child support committing suicide. That is what this is about, after all. Although ProzacLady's attitude is problematic, she is correct in pointing out that a lot of children feel angry at a parent who committed suicide. And although I think her comment reeks of sarcasm, I also must commend you for forgiving your father, as she did. I wonder, though. Were you always forgiving of your f…

The title also completely missed one of the major points about the article: Dyncorp's contract allows them to be free to run their own business.
