I wouldn't rush into it: bringing a rebellious 15 year old into your household will cause issues for everybody. I brought my rebellious 13 year old into my already-blended family and while we have made it work well, there are times when it is difficult.

Well, you already know you need to talk to a lawyer, but in Canada, back child support is a pretty fuzzy matter. IANAL, but I think that the odds that she would be able to collect back support from you are relatively small. I was able to collect back support from my ex-wife, but only because I had initiated court action immediately when she didn't pay. She delayed and delayed (over 2 years of court) but was finally ordered to pay up.

Late to this: If she's 15, this may be fueled by mother/daughter conflict. Many 15 year old females have rough relationships with their mothers. Been there. Am now the custodial parent as a result.

Nope, been-there-done-that reporting in. If someone pushes you, they are likely to progress to hitting you, throwing things at you, etc. Been there.

No, you should break up with her. My first wife was like that. It progressed. You should break up with her, or you may find yourself in trouble.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
