The way some of the commenters responded to your comments in the post you are referencing was really scary. One of them kept insisting that since the opinion you voiced deviated from the collective theme of the subreddit. That they should question why you were even reading or commenting. Saying you were either trolling or shouldn’t be allowed to comment there or should stop commenting. That you needed to leave. I have been noticing this in a lot areas of Reddit and I think the point of it is to …

A therapist can help you with a lot of your issues, confidence, boundaries, and ways of thinking and trauma etc that may have nothing to do with dating, but once you get to a really mentally healthy place, you will become more attractive in general. It shows.

Maybe you don't realize other people perceive you as insecure or you are doing or saying something that rubs chicks the wrong way.

Do you work on your appearance? Hair, skin, clothes, shoes, posture, fitness, body language, oral hygiene, etc.?

As a slightly above average looking female I find your level of attractiveness kind of intimidating. you look like a model.

Me commenting on your strategy has nothing to do with you. I don't know you, I don't know what you look like, or anything at all. You're probably a great guy and have no problems finding women. I'm simply pointing out that guys need to be aware that this is a really risky way to approach women and it may turn women off or backfire.

Want to add: The scenario I originally imagined this in was broad daylight, me heading somewhere on my day off with no time restraints or anything on my mind. If a man wants to approach me like that, the best thing he could say for the outcome you desire is tell me he wanted to let me know he saw me and thinks I'm gorgeous, and we can both smile, I can thank him, and keep going if I'm not interested. He may be in front of me but he isn't blocking me from moving. I'm not trying to insult you or w…

It doesn't matter what my plans are or what time of day or night it is, or if I am busy and rushing or moving leisurely at my own pace. If you approach me in a way where my access is blocked, you will not like my reaction and will regret approaching me in such a manner. Call it aggressively jumping in front of me, call it suddenly coming in front of me, either way it will end badly for you, and best case scenario is you walk away rejected without worrying she will call the cops or attack you.

If someone did this to me (I'm female) I would feel very uncomfortable and worry I'm about to get harassed, kidnapped, or mugged. DO NOT do anything that blocks a woman's access to continue moving away from you or anything that may make her feel trapped. It's predatory behavior and I'd be surprised if she didn't mace you or react similarly. EDIT: to add, if she DOES give you her number after this approach, don't be surprised if it was just because she was frightened that if she didn't, you'd do …

May I ask the reasonable reason?

If you had to "convince" her to go out with you, could that mean she felt uncomfortable saying no because she was raised to be polite, and she really just isn't interested and doesn't no how to reject you without feeling rude? She did say she is uncomfortable with the idea of you and her being alone.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
