I think a lot of it is fear. There's so much pain in this subreddit; and it's easy to just see it as just anger, seemingly pointed at women. Angry men are scary to women. Also people conflate this group with incels, who are really scary to women.

Been listening to Sherlock Holmes stories lately and the role of women is interesting. Holmes is generally unimpressed by them and they're often dismissed as sweet, simple, fainting innocents - usually. If they're the suspects they always turn out morally justified or innocent because actually a man was behind it and now that she's a victim her crimes get forgiven.

Instead of "male privilege" she should've said "the patriarchy", meaning this system of man = strong / woman=submissive, which hurts men and women. We need better words than "feminism" and "patriarchy" though, because it's not a question of women being victims and men being privileged.
