| 1 | Wtf just happened? Man goes to jail while he was the one who got assaulted by his girlfriend and has the burden of proof. All this while he was the one who called the cops.He can either be a poor student or she can be a gold digger. Not both. I hope you get help with whatever is ailing you. | /r/MensRights | 05/08/22 11:16 PM |

All this while he was the one who called the cops.Houses are replaceable, human beings are not. Innocent 3rd parties can get killed or hurt when people decide to fight back instead of walking away. It happens every day. | /r/MensRights | 04/08/22 10:04 PM |

All this while he was the one who called the cops.He can try that defense in court, but he would have to prove that he was at risk of serious physical injury. Given that she did not have a weapon, that’s very unlikely to fly. | /r/MensRights | 04/08/22 09:23 PM |

All this while he was the one who called the cops.I’ve been in a very similar situation to him, have compassion for him, and also have direct experience with how the criminal justice system works (as a grand juror who dealt with dozens of DV cases). He could have left and he should have left. Fighting back was a choice to commit a crime, in our current criminal justice system. | /r/MensRights | 04/08/22 09:17 PM |
| 1 | Wtf just happened? Man goes to jail while he was the one who got assaulted by his girlfriend and has the burden of proof. All this while he was the one who called the cops.If you assault someone instead of leaving the situation it sure is. He would have to prove in court that he had no other alternative, which is hard to believe. It’s your line of thinking that got the man in question in trouble. I’m pointing this out out of interest in keeping people out of trouble. | /r/MensRights | 04/08/22 09:09 PM |
| 1 | Wtf just happened? Man goes to jail while he was the one who got assaulted by his girlfriend and has the burden of proof. All this while he was the one who called the cops.I had some drunken courage and told her I'm watching it regardless of what she says. He could have left the relationship, but decided to drunkenly provoke her. I screamed in pain and shoved her off of me. She fell when I did and I instantly regretted it and still do to this day because I've never put my hands on a girl before. He admitted to assault right here, regardless of what she did to him. It sucks but it's true. I sat on a grand jury recently and I'm pretty confident he would be indicted … | /r/MensRights | 04/08/22 06:25 PM |

All this while he was the one who called the cops.I wonder how many men still don't know that it doesn't matter "who started it". The man in the original post actually admits to assaulting her (pushing her hard enough that she fell), which can be used against him in court. He should have left the scene and instead he committed a crime. She did too, but that doesn't change his crime. | /r/MensRights | 04/08/22 06:17 PM |
