It's a morale issue too. Noone wants to admit it. But rumor that I've heard is that some men on that boat knew they were fucking up. But they didn't say anything on purpose. "Yes ma'am, straight ahead ma'am." Sure, blame them for sexism or whatever. It shouldn't be this way. And in some Marxist utopia it wouldn't be this way. But we're humans and IT IS this way. If morale is low because of whatever reason, things like this can happen. We're not perfect, that needs to be included in the calculati…

I have basically quit reddit. I used to check it multiple times a day. Now I check if a few times a month. I'm even a mod and I'm surprised the mod team hasn't kicked me out yet. Reddit is not a good place to be anymore. I always hated twitter, but I honestly find current day twitter and also substack to be much better. Leave reddit. Don't delete it off your phone. But everytime you feel like opening reddit, open another app like substack or twitter instead.

Nothing. We've already fled. Who honestly is watching things like Netflix these days? They have the customer data and I'm assuming they know who is subbing. Everyone is already moved over to YouTube, short form, and video games. It's the same with books and music. They stop publishing us, so we stop writing. We move onto mediums that accept us. Instead of gate kept publishing

Wish I knew this at 18. I would've done a mechanical engineering degree soley to work in an office of guys rather than a split 50-50 (or majority female like it was when I was a teacher)

My wife gets jealous of my female cat when I give her too much attention. And my fucking female cat gets jealous of my wife when I give my wife too much attention. I just grab the male cat and my steam deck and avoid them all.

I never thought about it from that angle. Defending myself. I do struggle with that. Alright you kinda convinced me a bit. Just having a few tools to deal with workplace bullies could go a long way for me. Maybe Ill check out one of those online things like better help or whatever. Thanks again Also hell yea. Network engineering seems like the best path, even if it's not the current status career like SWE it's way more interesting for me.

Oh I'm ahead of you on that one. I'm doing Cisco and CompTIA certs right now. I want to do sys admin or NOC type stuff. Maybe one day work on these huge AI data centers and cable, set up, and help maintain those. Would be pretty interesting and fit a shy introvert kinda guy like me. But I can deal with people, I'm coming from teaching. It's just exhausting is all. The therapy. I don't know. Maybe trying couldn't hurt. I've been unemployed for two years now (thank God for GameStop stocks and living cheaply in Asia). The last 4 jobs I've had female bully issues. It's me. I know it is. 4 times in a row isn't a coincidence. Something about me attracts them or I don't have the social tool/skill set to navigate women in the workplace. I had an abusive single mom growing up and I'm sure a psychiatrist could unpack it all or whatever. But the end result is the same. Ignoring the reality leads to me being bullied. Acc…

Just wait until we get communist UBI payments and that forces a rework of child support laws. The top 5% will impregnate all the women. Pay no child support because everyone's on AI/robotic UBI. What're you gunna do to a man with 60 kids from 60 mom's when he gets 1750 a month UBI payment. And so do all those mom's and their kids. The only thing most men had to offer was being a provider. Most men are cooked.

I know I personally am looking for an all male work environment at this point. I was a teacher before (currently unemployed) and it taught me that I don't fit in with a feminized work environment. It's me. I'm the problem. I know that. But once you accepted that reality you can move forward and find a solution that works.

I mean, they're trying. But they're getting a lot of pushback. Just keep voting with your wallet and the market will meet the demand. That's the beauty of capitalism. If you're screaming like a female moose in heat about wanting to spend your money on games eventually a company will sprout out of the fucking ceiling to drop down and meet that market demand.

It's a chicken and an egg problem. Is the change in style of content being made causing men to leave viewership for other entertainment mediums like video games? Or, did men already leave and so the film industry is left with only pandering to a new audience because all the old men are off playing play station and all the young people are playing Roblox and watching TikTok and YouTube? I think we are left with a small male die hard audience that can't sustain the film industry anymore because th…

With the way things are going currently... Yea. Men are disposable. Literally. And currently we put more into taxes than we take out which is the opposite for women. AI and robotics will help usher in a really bright future but the transition is going to be a bit rough. We will have bullet trains spanning the globe, for example, but it will be men who once did accounting and law that migrate to build the tracks. Eventually they'll start shipping men to Mars.

I'm calling it now. When AI and robotics start to take over. There will be a short period where only women qualify for UBI. Men will be expected to be migrant physical labour.

I don't disagree. I did the same thing as you. But don't regret it. Philosophy degree (which is male dominated) into teaching. Taught in Asia. Hated my coworkers. Now I'm studying IT certs at 32 years old looking to move back to Canada and get a fresh career. Wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe I wouldve done electrical engineering if I could turn back time. Nah this is not true. Being a bad teacher is not easy. I’ve done construction in the sun. I’ve done retail, worked in warehouses. Been a student. Etc etc. tons of shit jobs. Teaching is hard. You’re running meetings for 6 hours per day. Prepping time, creating the materials for them. Grading the papers. It’s actually a shit ton of work. Being a bad teacher is easy though. When I was quitting I’d just put Matilda on repeat and coast. That’s easy money.

Haw haw haw. Yea it’s good and worth the read. It kind of drops off on the second to last chapter, but finishes strong and starts really strong. It put words to definitions I already held. And as someone who used to teach, made me feel vindicated in the reason I quit being a teacher. Some kids you just can’t help and it’s not their fault they’re built that way. We would’ve remained in the preindustrial era? I’m not sure that’s much better. The technology that we have now has helped humanity tremendously. You can’t just skip oil and coal and go directly to nuclear. We needed every bit of energy we could get. It wasn’t until 80 years ago that hunger was still a real issue in the west. We needed to burn coal to survive. Not just to make people wealthy. I took a melatonin and am off to bed. I’ll check your full reviews tomorrow when I wake up (I’m in Asia …

Agree to disagree. I’ve read almost all his books now. While it wasn’t his best (hence the “bonus points” and not on the main list), I loved the Texan redneck character and found a lot of relief in the fact that one man CAN make a difference in the world. We don’t need to roll over and give up.

/r/MensRights10/05/24 06:32 PM

I disagree. Relationships will always be tied to status. The football jock isn’t going to give up his blonde hair cheerleader girlfriend because of a chatbot. This at least gives people who would never have any opportunity something. I think it’s an overall good. And it gives power back to men. Men don’t need to become work slaves, giving a cheating wife all their money just for a chance. This frees them from that.
/r/MensRights10/05/24 04:05 PM
43

I don’t think it matters. What if we twist the angle a bit (and for background here, I’m married already). What if the chatbot was a male role model for boys who don’t have fathers in their lives? Is that a bad thing? Some men will never get a woman. Historically speaking only 40% of men ever born have procreated. You’re more likely than not to never get the chance. That’s why religions took off, men played a long because it created the family structures we see today. So coming back to my first …

I don’t disagree with your sentiment. But I think the the idea that they should just make their own IP doesn’t quite land right either. Existing IPs always get milked, people show up and consume the product just because they’re fans. It would be like asking women to make a new sport instead of playing golf. Making a new popular IP is incredible hard and rare. For stock holders and MBA holders it seems more in reach to try and get women to watch comic book movies than it is to make the new X men.…

No, I understand completely. It’s a more open and comfortable dynamic when it’s just boys. You can be weak and relaxed which is refreshing. When women enter the scene everyone has to pump their chests out and it becomes a 0 sum game. When it’s just the boys it feels more cooperative.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. I think this is spot on. Women spend more money than men. It’s in the interest of the people that own these products to want women to come. Play golf, buy overpriced bullshit golf accessories. Come buy overpriced magic cards sleeves or iron man plushies that they can’t hawk to men because men don’t care. Men are statistically raped more often than women. I don’t want to take away that women obviously need fear rape more, but men also need to be careful. I also cut ties with my family. They all do and sell drugs, I went to university. I'm the white sheep in a family of black sheep. I hate the way the system is set up. It really needs to be torn down and reimagined, we're way over do. I saw a lot of AI and online courses coming in though. Where the teacher is a guide and the AI is in control of the material. I got to play with that for one semester before I quit, it looks like the right way forward.

This might be true. There is a strong female bias in the education system to begin with. Even if your sister was disruptive, they might have favoured her. That wasn’t me though. I really did try to work with and help the boys. I got a lot of push back because of it. I’d spend more 1 on 1 time with them, allow snacks in my classes, and try to be fair with my grading. I did see other teachers favour the girls a lot though.

In an ideal world, yes. But in reality, that’s just not the case. Being a teacher (I worked at a private school) is literally about getting high test scores. That’s what they put on the pamphlets to show to parents to get more kids to enrol. My job was tied to them scoring well on tests and choking down the text book. I know this isn’t “right” or good, but what the hell could I do about it? Speak up and lose my job? I was homeless since 17 with a cokehead mom and an absent father, and struggled …

I’ve had issues in the past. I’m like socially retarded at dealing with them or something. I always seem to butt heads with them, especially if they want to manage me or are my manager. I try really hard to become a ghost and avoid them as much as possible, but they sniff me out. I wish I knew how to work with them better, I don’t even know where to start. I just have a punchable face or a demeanour that they hate. Even some coworkers have pointed that out to me. That I seem to get target for no…

It’s a lot of peer pressure and some long years at the school if you do this. Easier to just stand for the hour and not stick out rather being known as the guy who “hates women’s right” or whatever shit would be spread. In a case like this, you need the girls to fight for the men, honestly

Well if you want to play semantics, you can have a clean room while also being on drugs. No one is buying your dumb shit on this subreddit. You hang him by his own regard on a sub Reddit that cares.

I just want to clarify, you think taking medication for a health disorder is a dirty thing? 1/5 Americans use these types of drugs, and you think it’s slanderous that he did too? He said clean your room. He didn’t say get your house in perfect order. He said take small steps that are in front of your first before trying to become a CEO. You’re grossly misinterpreting his message. If you’re a pot head with cum tissues and empty pizza boxes all over your room, why do you complain online that you c…

When he said that line he wasn’t addicted to anti anxiety medication. It wasn’t until years later when he blew up, was giving speeches and fighting people on tv that he began taking that medication. And he went ghost mode for months while he dealt with his recovery because he knew he wasn’t in a proper state. I don’t even like Peterson that much. His early shit was good, but the stuff he talks about now is so-so. But why drag him through the mud?

Besides that the culture can be pretty toxic too. Want to talk about toxic masculinity? Try building retaining walls in 30+ heat. I remember one time I was digging a drainage hole and I saw sparks in the ground where I was digging. Everyone on the crew called me a pussy and told me I just needed some water. Turns out I hit a power main and could’ve been fried but got lucky. Boss didn’t check the plans closely enough and had us digging in the wrong spot. I quit the very next day.

100% this. I had an essay on gender inequality in university. The prof wanted us to submit outlines for approval before we started our papers. I wanted to talk about men’s issues and he was snide and basically said (you can try but it’s going to result in a low grade). So I gave in and wrote the paper on bangledish house wives and got an A. Sometimes it’s just not worth it.

Sorry I’m way out of the loop on the transvestite stuff in pop culture. But in Asia they’re still called trannies or transvestite. How is it bigoted?

Yea it felt like a bit much. She makes almost 50% more than me per month. I keep telling her to save and buy stocks/investments. She refuses claiming she doesn't understand how. Whenever I get a good option play to pay off, she flips a mental switch and starts demanding stuff from me - instead of just learning how to buy ETF stocks herself.

Feeling this hard. Just passed 100k in savings, and my girlfriend demanded I buy her a laptop. Told her to eat shit and bought myself a ps5. It's my money, I saved it. Not hers. She makes more than me anyways, but spends it all on stupid stuff. I don't spend and save every penny. No, we will not get married.
