It was a bad idea from the start. First of all, there's at least 8 guys in my town with the exact first and last name as me. So if one of those 8+ gets named, all of them get to publically shamed and have their reputation ruined even if it was not aimed at them. I don't disagree that something should be done to protect victims (and name abusers) but it has to be a system in place to protect innocent people. I don't have an answer on how to do it, this app is just not the way to do it.

Well that doesn't sound bad at all. I was out of shape and depressed the last few years since she mentally defeated me last year. I hit rock bottom but decide to work and myself. I lost 50 pounds and I'm in best shape of my life. Your post gives me lots of lots of hope. Thanks for the tips.

We aren't at that point yet but she would probably be the one that would have to pay alimony but I would be willing to let that go in return to keeping 100% of my pension and me keeping the house. Not sure if I could afford to buy her out yet, I would need to look into that when the time comes. I am pretty sure if we do split that it will be amicable

I've been on reddit for 9 years but only recently started using it almost daily and participating in discussons. 3 months ago I joined the chronic_pain group and boy was it nice to be able to talk to other people that doesn't judge you and doesn't minimize your pain and understand the emotional struggles that goes with chronic pain. I only joined this group yesterday as marriage is not going good here. I made a few posts and so far have gotten some great advice on how to handle it, some harsh co…

Thanks for the advice, harsh but that is what I need. As for context, we have had alot of arguments in the recent years, it hasn't been smooth sailing for a while. We both have made some efforts to get things better but the same issues keeps popping up. Usually involving vacations and money. She will not budge on those topics and I always end up giving in because of the threat of seperating. I'm at the point that I do not want to voice my opinions when it comes to those topics. I don't see any o…

She would be happy if I took an expensive vacation as this will remove her guilt of taking some. The thing is that my friends wouldn't go on any expensive vacations. They are all very frugal with their money. I admitted to her that I am a bit jealous that she has lots of opportunities for this and I don't. She was happy when I said that at the moment but it was twisted and used against me our last argument. She doesn't see herself with me because of my jealousy.

She has admitted a few weeks back that she no longer wants to put any efforts :-(

She does take some accountability but is always accompanied with a "but".

yeah I am not planning on doing that. I love my house and neighborhood too much while she has been often complained about wanting to live somewhere else. If she wants to end it, she'll be the one to leave (at least that is what I am hoping)

I'm in Canada. I have a retirement plan with as a civil servant for the governement of Canada. She has her own business, thus not alot of savings for retirement. She has stated that she would not go after my retirement and that she would pay for all the kids expenses if we split up.

I am vulnerable with her it oftens used against me in the future, so I am guarded. I'm not sure how vulnerable she is with me, she does open up sometimes but she is extremely defensive all the time. She is a psychologist so she should know how to communicate as a couple, at least that is what I think.

There isn't much I can do right now, we've tried couples therapy that led nowhere. It actually made it worse when I expressed my feelings. We are both doing individual therapists also but I don't think I will be seeing mine again, just not clicking with her. Last week she told me that she needs space and time to think which I am respecting but don't think anything will change. We're in an endless loop right now,

I'm not at that point yet, I'm just on hold waiting for the wife to decide what she wants in life. I'm pissed that I'm in this situation but still don't want to quit yet.

I'm in the same boat, still clinging to hope that I'm no longer sure exists. Scared shitless of what's next

I can't completely gray rock her, we live together, sleep in the same bed, share kid duties and household choirs, I'm not willing to move out either. I love my home, my neighbours, my lifestyle. But I will try to grayrock her the best I can.

thank you for the advice. I know it is good advice, this is actually what I did last year when she first brought up ending the marriage. It did work, after a couple of months doing that it felt that she loved me again. We didnt split up, things were going better but we're back at it. I think she actually likes it when I do stuff by myself but I feel guilty because we do practually anything together unless her family is around. I've been playing disc golf practically everyday, gym 3 to 4 times a …

I still have some hope that we can fix it, I don't know if it possible but all I can do is wait until she makes a decision.

Kind of hard not to sleep with her, all beds in our house are taken and with my bad back, sleeping on the couch would be too painful. I know she ain't sleeping on the couch.

I think of myself as a good person, I've been a good husband and father. Not saying I was perfect, I could of done some things differently. How long did it take you to get pass the darkness? I'm already 47, I feel to old to go through this.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
