Seriously, that statistic is such bullshit. I know it's anecdotal, but my old roommate was accused of rape and it turned out to be most likely false by all accounts. Never went to the police (because of some bullshit federal law on how universities investigate rape now), but it's not 'proven false' under this statistic.

And that statistic is vastly deflated. A lot of rape cases go through the university. My roommate was accused of rape, turned out to be likely false. But the university held it over his head to the point where he transferred.

My old roommate was just practically forced out of a state university over a rape accusation that, while it wasn't 'proven false,' it was pretty obviously bullshit, and no evidence to prove it true.
