I remember reading an article about mixed attractiveness couples (i.e, people dating outside their "league") and the finding was that the vast majority of them meet through friends, work or some other medium where there was a longer amount of time for personality to shine through. I reckon the snap decisions associated with online dating are way more brutal on men, since a smaller proportion of men are immediately easy on the eye.

I'd be happy to be bi just for varietys sake but I'm fine dating women. Also if I was gay my dating pool would be reduced to only other gay men who are like 10% of the male population.

You're basically describing the prisoners dilemma here. Except in your specific metaphor to lose once is to die, I'd say the stakes aren't usually quite that high in dating. In the iterative prisoners dilemma it can indeed make strategic sense to start with a co-operative move.

Vulnerability is a humanising feature, and hence attractive. Its like that OKcupid blog about attractiveness, where they discovered that people who are seen as "attractive, but with a flaw" get more quality messages than people seen as "generically attractive" the flaw humanises them, and makes them more relatable and appraochable. On the other hand, you also need to be bringing something to the table to begin with.

Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just speculating based on the available information here. But to me the fact that its specifically anal is interesting, because theres no direct procreational benefit to anal. (And honestly its not even that physically pleasurable prepared to the self-lubricating vagina.) A large part of the appeal of anal comes specifically from the taboo aspect of it. From the dirtiness. So we have a situation where a person will do taboo stuff with one partner who they saw as a "bad" part…

It comes down to the fact that anal is something she has conflicting feelings about, so something she's not even sure she wants to admit she likes. With her prior boyfriend, that was ok, the relationship had an "expiration date" anyway. And he was already "fallen" in her mind, so she could explore that side of her sexuality. Her new boyfriend she sees as "clean" and pure as a person. And she actually sees a future with him - so she's more reluctant to explore the "dirty" shameful side of herself…

Why was she more "comfortable" with her short term ex who had a "big dick" but the relationship had an "expiration date" by BP logic? She gave him anal because the relationship had an expiration date. She sees anal as something "dirty" or "naughty" and so she'll only do it with guys who she sees AS "dirty", "naughty" and disposable. Men have been known to do this too, in the form of the archetypal madonna-whore complex.

If he didn't express that rage toward the woman it doesn't count, read the post. He did. Hence why I said "I knew a guy who did this".

Yes. I knew a guy in my social circle who frequently did this. It follows a very simple emotional logic: at first he's excessively nice and a massive doormat, because he believes thats the way to get women to like him. As soon as it becomes apparent its not going to work out though the fact that he was such a pushover suddenly comes back as an embarrassment to his identy "I can't BELIEVE I did all that embarrassing shit and didn't even get anything out of it", this manifests as rage. Its a kind …
