Etymology of the word "idiot" from Wikipedia: Idiot is a word derived from the Greek ἰδιώτης, idiōtēs ("person lacking professional skill", "a private citizen", "individual"), from ἴδιος, idios ("private", "one's own"). In Latin the word idiota ("ordinary person, layman") preceded the Late Latin meaning "uneducated or ignorant person". You just used a word with an evolved meaning but you're bitching on reddit about language evolution? Okay then.

Yes, they are. "I couldn't care less" is the proper saying, and "I could care less" is a colloquialism. That's the great thing about the English language: it's constantly changing and adapting to the way it's spoken. People can still understand what you mean even if your grammar isn't 100% accurate.
