Cosmetic genital modification performed on children comes to mind. You could look into whether it's men or women who are ineligible to receive food and water during natural disasters and humanitarian crises. Maybe you could guess if it's men or women who are legally allowed to be forced into labor during times of war. And I'm not even referring to conscription, which by itself is probably another answer to your question. Of course, these probably don't actually speak to the point you're trying t…

I think we hate it that feminists don't bother to put in "a lot." They would just say "men are vile." If there hadn't been a qualifier making it clear that it wasn't referring to all women, the mods would have removed the comment instead of doubling down on the dehumanization.

Is there any data on how the parental leave split typically shakes out? Do both parents tend to take roughly equal time?

Just to make sure I'm understanding you correctly. The argument you're making is essentially that women who give birth should not have to financially contribute to the wellbeing of their child because they went through pregnancy, is that correct? That they should receive "credit" for the burden they willingly undertook in the form of exemption from child support?

A 9 month commitment that she willingly chose to undertake. She can take steps to either avoid conception or relieve herself of the pregnancy at multiple points. Why would she deserve monetary credit for that? That is the case in all states, at least in the US. There is nowhere that a noncustodial parent can be released from their financial obligations without ceding their parental rights to another person that will stand in their stead.

The noncustodial parent is alway required to pay child support. Even if they're homeless and the other parent is a billionaire. If the responsibility is shared by two, why would only she get "credit"?

Out of curiosity, let's assume it's the latter. Once the father is made aware that he has a child, would he be entitled to take custody of the child and receive financial support from the mother? What kind of credit do you envisage the woman receiving in this case? An hourly wage? If anything, wouldn't it make more sense to charge her a penalty for producing a child that she had no intention of caring for and foisting that responsibility upon others?

Don't have sex with men who don't wear condoms.

Would you not agree that they are effectively the same thing? The entire argument against the paper abortion is the mother can still go through with the birth leaving a child with only one parent providing financial support. Currently that exact same scenario can take place with safe haven laws that only the mother can effectively utilize. In my opinion, the paper abortion concept would realistically exist as an expansion of safe haven concepts. Instead of having between three and thirty days …

That is true if the father is also a legal guardian. Single men are not legal guardians until they are on the birth certificate or establish paternity through the court. That means, in most cases, a father can not utilize safe havens without the mothers permission. She doesn't even have to let him see the child until the court orders it. Married men could theoretically utilize a safe haven but due to presumption of paternity, would be unlikely to escape financial liability if the mother then cla…

Safe haven laws are essentially the same thing as "paper abortions." Every state in the US has some form of safe haven laws and I believe most western European countries have them as well.

Women currently have access to "paper abortions." They're generally referred to as safe haven laws.
