no matter how you try to spin it, he's not your son. of course you can choose to keep raising him, you can even adopt him. but choosing not to give a shit about him doesn't make you a monster. the only monster in this story is the woman. and she needs to take every responsibility. the guy doesn't have more responsibility towards the child than, say towards the child of his neighbor. like, it would be rude not to give him candy when he comes trick or treating, but that's that.
