Caught my wife cheating (again). Divorce is the only path forward — just need perspective. How much did the certified attorney cost? What was the final amount you had to pay for all the legal work done, and did you also have to pay for your ex's legal fees? Thanks! | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/06/25 02:14 PM

Sister has CancerThis. OP, this is the chance to show the kiddos what real family does for each other. Life is tough, and the kids will forever carry the lessons they learn here. This is their chance to bring joy to your sister in her time of pain and illness. I hope your sister keeps fighting and pulls through for many many more years. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/09/23 02:36 AM
Fucked up countryI think the point they are trying to make is they were the saver, while their partner was was not. When the divorce happened, everything got split equally, which could be seen as unfair to the saver. That's the problem with going through the courts, they don't care if one spouse saved by fixing stuff around the house, working two jobs for 80 hours a week, cooking dinner at home and keeping the place clean, while the other spent money on cosmetic surgery and $250 weekly spa sessions. The fact tha… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/07/23 07:54 PM
Urgent question on alimony and equity distribution? What kind of lame math is this? It's actually way worse for you. Suppose home is worth $440K after subtracting debt. So arbitrator first assigned apartment and home (minus debt to her). That means W = $330K + $440K = $770K. You only got company worth $440K. So just to start off the division is not equitable, without even getting into the mortgage. Next, as for the mortgage payment, you are right - that is a huge mistake if the asset was handed over minus debt. Your wife got the asset worth $770K… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/01/23 06:28 PM
Need Insight on Dividing House Value.Should be 50% of the equity in the house, not what it's worth - i.e. if the house is worth $500K and you have a mortgage on it worth $300K, then the equity is $200K and you split that equally, so you would pay her share out by giving her $100K. Do account for selling/transaction fees - or get a conservative estimate. If you sold today for $500K, your net proceeds would only be $460K after commissions, etc. Maybe taxes too. Lastly, did you own this house before marriage? If so, then you need to l… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/21 09:17 PM

Trying To Finalize This LimboIt's not your fault, marriages fail all the time and you could have done the best possible job humanly possible but it might still not have prevented all this. Your guilt stems from you blaming this on yourself, or from misconceptions that this is something bad. It's not, it's just another event in your life. Like the death of a loved one. Grief is perhaps more warranted, not guilt. A failed marriage is not a failure. You have learned some valuable lessons and you don't have kids to worry about.… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/20 02:44 AM
