The commentary and advice overall was good and positive. This podcast makes observations that are relevant and important to all women, but I find that it is very focused on women in their 20s. I'm in my 40s (apparently old and sexually unattractive according to the hosts!) but this kind of perspective is needed by all women, maybe even moreso 'older' women like me, and women with children. (We also date, and I think it's a bit shortsighted and even misogynistic to ignore this huge segment of the…

Agree, though I think that the nature of an abuser is that he wants his target because she does have value to him. Men like this would grow to despise any woman because they are never satisfied, feel entitled to do as they please, and resent any infringement on their ability to do whatever tf they want. It's so sick.

YES. And I ignored these first impressions as I got to know them better. I now realise that this was a mistake and I should have listened to my gut. Husband 1: I thought he was boring and weird but he was totally obsessed with me and I thought that I should go for a man who would be devoted to me. He turned out actually to be boring, but also to be super critical and to find my more exciting traits (which attracted him to me) to be annoying. Husband 2: he was totally at ease taking what he wante…

Absolutely. I am 41. So is my ex. He is now dating this poor woman (probably younger, though he won't give me any information about her) and going on family holidays and stuff with her. I have no doubt that he would take me back in a heartbeat. I can't explain why he would prefer me, other than that I am the mother of his child and he has always been obsessed with me. Problem is, he's a narcissist and a bully. I would rather be alone. For now, I am sure he is feeding her some lines about how I h…

YES. I have come to realise (through numerous mistakes) that a man who makes you feel like a dirty, inadequate secret is trash. NEVER give time of day to a man who makes you feel less than.

This is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately! I think exes have a lot of useful information potentially to offer, maybe including when you are still in the relationship. My ex has reeled in a new woman and I feel a strong desire to warn her off, or to signal to her that if she ever finds his behaviour confusing, I would be open to talking. I absolutely would warn her away from him, and I feel no jealousy of her. (He def has told her I am crazy though, so I am not going to affir…

Men hide who they are until women are trapped. It's easy to say that he believes in equality, but once the baby is there, what's the lady going to do if he refuses to pull his weight? Leave?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
