I'm shocked a feminist is even calling another country out at all. The standard line I've heard from them is "We can't criticize non-Western countries, because that would feed Imperialism."

Worst thing about those phony anarchist subs are the mods who ban you for saying things they disagree with. Isn't that completely missing the point of anarchism?
/r/MensRights24/11/14 07:34 AM

Then you'll be happy to know that Western feminists generally refuse to criticize Islam (or the mistreatment of women in non-Western countries) at all for the very same reason.

I foresee the SJWs finding some way to "discredit" Ayaan Hirsi Ali They already have. They've painted her as "a tool of the Right, feeding Western Islamophobia."

Feminists will also try to ban them claiming that they make their knees soggy The main claim I've heard is "it objectifies women and teaches men that women are only for sex." I'd argue the exact opposite: The men who us have sex with bots will then be interacting with real women in every way other than sex. I imagine that, if they find out a guy has one, they'll immediately jump to single-shaming and virgin-shaming. If a shady company ever ends up making child-sized ones for pedophiles, expect f…

That would depend on how sentient they are, though. It's relatively easy to program a robot to simulate things that people do, but actual consciousness is completely different.

I think it's when someone tries to say other people are inherently different, specifically two groups inherently different. Unfortunately, finding the definition of terms SJWs and online feminists use is difficult, since they'll just tell you "It's not our job to educate you! Google is your friend." Then you Google it, and all the results are other blogs where someone comes and asks for the definition, and they respond "It's not our job to educate you! Google is your friend."

I've met feminists who believe that 'egalitarian' is just shorthand for 'mra in disguise'. Most of the people I've seen calling themselves "egalitarian" seem to use it in place of "non-feminist", it's just that they know they can't say the latter without being social outcasts.

I'm a bit unclear on that. OP seemed to be saying that his lawyer went over his head and plead guilty to the judge despite what he wanted to plead.

Was reading about this a while ago. Legally, a lawyer can't enter a plea without their client's permission.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the mods being biased. Haven't heard a peep from the mods myself yet, but then again I haven't been posting that much there and probably haven't said anything they'd take issue with. In any case, it's orders of magnitude better than any other online interaction we'd have with feminists, considering it's usually confined to Asking them a question and getting "It's not our job to educate you. Go use Google." Then you'd Google the same question, and all the link…

Those criticizing the MRM think it and Red Pill are one in the same (they throw PUAs, anti-PUAs, Incels, and FAs in, too). It's like the Cracked article where the author was talking about how dangerous the MRM was, and the examples he gave were all quotes from /r/TheRedPill.

A few feminists did actually mention his racism, which they blamed on the White Supremacist Patriarchy. One of their concepts is Intersectionality, whereby they believe that racism and misogyny are basically the same thing.
/r/MensRights18/06/14 06:22 AM

I would not consider MRAs a problem for feminists You might want to tell that to them; they're obsessed with MRAs right now, and bring up how dangerous they think they are every chance they get.

Okay, you're going to have to explain this to me. How it's a great example is going right over my head. I think we may be using different definitions

It is physically and emotionally draining to be called upon to prove that these systems of power exist. Notice the author isn't saying that it's draining to be discriminated against, she's saying that it's draining to even be bothered to defend their position with an actual argument. This is basically just their way of saying "shut up and accept what we tell you without questioning it."

"Severity of violence" and "context in which it took place", eh? This is coming from a group that I'm sure would say all violence against women is equally bad and that any questions of context would only be "blaming the victim."

I think positive real-life volunteering would be good. Most of the chronically homeless are men? Get a group together and volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen, or help build houses. No domestic violence shelters for abused men? Raise money and build one in a major city. (Or at least some form of support network, as buying/building something is pretty in-depth.) Men are several times more likely to commit suicide? Start a crisis/depression counseling center at a university. Besides, wh…

He said board where you villainize women, not specifically men's rights. He thinks the two are synonymous. And he's not too far off. If you constantly hate on women, what makes you a good partner for one? And yet, the guys who treat women like shit (they don't hate women, but likely have no love for them) are drowning in women who think they're ideal partners.

I'm stauncly pro gay-rights, pro transrights, pro-choice, por-sex, etc. When you mentioned this, did they get angry and say "So what!? Do you want a cookie for that?". That's one of their standard lines.

Admittedly, those are just the cases I've heard of, but it's pretty well established on a college campus (and often in the real world, too) that if they're rich or an athlete they can get away with anything.

I don't actually feel that way personally, but I have seen a lot of guys online who do. This is what critics of online communities like this don't get. In a large part, it's not for guys who want more social power, it's for guys who don't feel like they have a place in society to begin with. If you're probably never going to have a family and society doesn't give a shit about you except to collect your taxes once a year, why should you care about others' problems or trying to improve the quality…

Yeah. In all fairness, I didn't think there was any chance that she would seriously do it. Oddly enough, since then she's been pretty nice to me, sometimes ever nicer than she is to the guys that call themselves male feminists.

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean, "Why do people see misogyny here if there is none?" If so, then I'd say maybe you see it here because you expect to. Like the old saying, When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Sadly, one topic of debate in Women's and Ethnic Studies is whether logic, reason, science, and math, are only White male European social constructs and should therefore not be regarded as universally true for all races and genders. Their argument is something like "Minorities and women do worse at Math and Science because it was designed for White males, so making them learn and test on it is unfair." I find it ironic that their philosophizing has led them to a view that's far more racist and s…

I had a friend show me this French feminist video about reversed gender roles once. She was horrified that I didn't think the guy in the video had it that bad. "You don't understand. If the roles were reversed, you'd have women hitting on you and trying to have sex with you every day You'd have to see women running around topless all the time. Doesn't that seem horrible?" "Uhhh, no..." Note: The guy in the video did get his dick bit, though. That would suck.

“The second you post on one of these message boards, it should be legally bound you never find love.” I wonder if he know that a lot of the guys here have given up on that anyway. In the words of the Joker in The Dark Knight: "You have nothing to threaten me with." Shaming doesn't work if you know the other side is never going to see you positively anyway.

exponentially more common for a womens allegation of rape to be denied because she was wearing a revealing outfit, enjoyed having sex with different people, and liked having fun I've heard this repeated ad nauseum, but I've never seen an actual case of this happening. Also, you misused the word "exponentially", which is a specific type of growth and doesn't simply mean "a lot more."

Title is a bit misleading. When I saw "university article", I thought it was going to be by a professor. This is an opinion piece in a student newspaper. I'd be interested to see how this develops. Will the campus feminist groups demand he be expelled for writing it because "his hate speech is oppressing us"?

If those things are obvious, then why is any student who dares question the professor in those classes immediately shouted down? The guys I know who've taken those classes usually say "I just learned to write what they wanted to hear, even though I didn't agree with it. When I had to write a paper, I'd just write about how it was all the fault of the Patriarchy and I automatically got an A."

However, their recent actions are possibly backfiring and instead of killing the movement they drew attention to it. I didn't really realize it until now, but I'll bet a lot of the feminists who excoriated MRAs on social media made their existence known to men who otherwise wouldn't have heard of them. They said "For god's sake, don't go to any of their websites, because they full of vile hatred and nothing but the most horrible people in existence." Their male friends thought "Hmmm, sounds inte…

What sort of amoral institution covers up rape on a grand scale? It actually does happen at universities, usually because it's done by a football team that's winning a lot of games and bringing in a lot of money for the universtiy, or done by a few fraternities loaded with rich boys whose dads are donors, or because the institution just doesn't want the bad press and hopes the problem will just go away.

I don't actually blame my problems on feminists, I don't actually think they're trying to oppress men, and to be honest I don't consider myself an MRA even though I comment here a lot. The only thing I'm blaming them for is dropping the banhammer down on anyone (even well-meaning) who asks them a clarifying question or (god forbid) dares to question any small point of their ideology.

I beg to differ. Maybe they present a united front to outsiders, but if you watch any of their internal discussions they'll rip each other to shreds for not being sufficiently in line with their ideology, or even in arguing over what their ideology should be.

Recording it on his phone saved the day for him. Apparently, the police believed her story and were putting him under arrest until he showed them the video. He likely would've been a convicted felon and (if she actually did allege rape) a sex offender for life. Nobody would've believed his story and feminist blogs would've been raving about how she saved the world from "a dangerous, rapey, guy taking creepshots on the beach."

There are no European countries where woman-on-man-violence is legal and no countries where an abusive spouse would get custody rights if a case was brought up. Sure, it's illegal, but guys who reported it used to just have the police laugh in their face. Also, not sure how it works in Europe, but here in the US the legal system almost always awards custody to the mother, sadly even if she has a history of violence.

She just criticized him for "thinking he was entitled to sex just because he was a nice guy." There is one incident that sticks out in my mind. A radical feminist friend of mine and her husband encountered a woman in a Burqa when they were dining out. He commented first by saying how tragic it was that her patriarchal culture had forced her to wear it. (I got the sense that he was mostly trying to get brownie points for a feminist comment.) She just took him to task for his Islamophobia and lack…

I've noticed something similar. The male feminists I know are almost always in relationships with feminists. I think the main reason they're so adamant is that they're afraid if they don't "toe the line", their SO will leave. I've also had a couple male friends posting a lot of feminist topics on FB. One of them posted about being put in the Friendzone a couple weeks later, and got raked over the coals by a feminist.

I noticed that something weird happened in my conversations with people about Men's Rights groups on FB. People kept talking about "MRAs/Pick Up Artists". What?! Why the heck do those things get lumped together? That's like me saying "Feminists/strippers". I've noticed the same thing. The feminists I know on FB have been blaming "the attitude of entitlement fostered by the Men's Rights/ Red Pill/ PUA community", as if all three of those were the same, or even looked at the world the same way.
