The ERA is already law. The problem is enforcement. See this NY Times article that explains the complicated situation we are in. That the validity of this amendment is tied to congress being able to raise their salary is amusing to me. Imho either both are valid or neither are!

I don't think this is actually an exception. I don't see why a man wouldn't be hired as a stripper in a blind comparison if his resume showed him to have the most merit. Strip clubs are businesses interested in making money after all and if a resume shows that a person will bring in more than someone else then other factors ought to be irrelevant.

Here is a good summary of how it is going.

When I see things like this it makes me question the validity of all research. How do I know we aren't being led down a rabbit hole of foregone conclusions? Personally I have an interest in evolution would be very interested in reading the paper. Anyone know if it can be found anywhere?

I looked these up but still don't understand. Not a law student. :-( Would appreciate ELI5.

How does this situation entitle you to bill for your time?

I see this as progress. Everyone thinks they are special. This is one group recognizing they could be GF that might not otherwise identify with him. I eagerly await the "they treated me like I was black" and "they treated me like I'm not the 1%" articles.

This sounds like the politically correct answer. I wonder how important this will be when it costs the company more money.

A lawyer is how you facilitate legal transactions. That is unavoidable if you aren't representing yourself, which is difficult for most people. r/legaladvice can usually point you in the right direction. Some of the people there are actual lawyers and I find the community very helpful. I second posting this question there.

I prefer owning this word. Need a coworker to explain something to me in detail? Mansplain it to me. Works best when you are male.

This is the single most useful clarification I have heard. With this I have a one line retort to "wage gap" that adequately explains the problem and opens the door for questioning.

I found this interesting so I googled. Looks like it is too expensive to have kids in Hong Kong. Are you saying they have kids but they live with their moms outside the city?

Don't forget to give us the "after" photo when someone inevitably draws dicks in their mouths.

For the same reason you don't go into a vegetarian restaurant and order a steak. You receive what they have to offer because you decided to participate. You don't get to tell them what to offer you.

I think this view is all wrong. Girls that join Boy Scouts are doing it because they don't want to be brainwashed into filling traditional female roles. They want an equal experience by being able to do the boy things. Those same ones that develop some of the traits associated with masculinity. How can we not appreciate that?

Wouldn't it be more in line with MRA beliefs to have a human rights march? One that frames all rights as not gender specific, and makes arguments against more obviously biased?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
