I know you’re just making a joke, but Tel Aviv is filled with atheists. Basically like the San Francisco of Israel.

Agreed, but what’s the fine line between it sounding like an interview and genuine curiosity? I feel like sometimes it can be hard when a woman isn’t reciprocating the effort. Sometimes it can be out of not being interested, but other times it seems like women simply want men to lead, even ones they are interested in.

For me, personally, I think the opposite advice is better. I don't necessarily mind getting rejected by smokeshows and I'm generally proud that I at least tried. However, I tend to get demoralized when I get rejected by average to below average women. To each their own though. Rarely is advice one size fits all.

While I agree with what you’re saying for the most part, I do think that things have changed in recent times where most women expect the guy to put in nearly all the effort, even when the guy is super handsome. I’m sure everyone’s mileage may vary though.

Agreed, plus it's super relatable to many. For me, personally, I excel most at humor, but am horrible at coming up with conversation topics with strangers. When I had a social circle, like OP was describing, I didn't have to put in the effort of coming up with conversation topics, as people would approach me and then I could just make people laugh. Nowadays, it's much, much harder without the social circle to introduce you to new people.

I’ve noticed the same thing, after many years of not going out. Really interesting theory about too much validation, but at the same time, dating apps like Tinder have existed for more than a decade now. I wonder if also COVID played a role, similar to how it did for remote work becoming more common?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
