I encourage you to read the comment thread, because I have engaged in good faith arguments on many fronts, but unless someone is willing to answer what I’m saying with evidence rather than speculation then I don’t think it’s a productive discussion. I do think you misunderstood intersectionality however. Egalitarianism is a philosophical position, whereas intersectionality is an analytical framework. It’s why Marxist Feminism exists, it’s a beneficial synthesis of ideologies, and I think that both movements can learn a lot from each other’s theoretical perspectives. I think you’re missing my point, regardless of the historical intricacies of the workforce and banking, women being able to have financial independence is one of the greatest things the second-wave of feminism accomplished. This includes maternity protections, and now women can keep their jobs if they’re on maternity leave in most countries in Europe. I’ve oversimplified Connell’s theory for the sake of a Reddit comment, of course, but I recommend you look into if you’re interested, there’s been modern developments of the theory that get much more nuanced in their classifications of the masculinity hierarchy. 1	As a feminist ... The idea of the modern class system developed from industrialisation and urbanisation, but that doesn’t mean it’s a concept that has to be dismissed.
