With a low quality desperate girl perhaps.

I believe the opposite. The low value girls will feel dread and think they have to grovel to keep you because they can't get anyone else. High value girls think: if he can't deal with situations rationally and instead immediately begins considering jumping ship to the next available port, I'll go and easily find someone else who doesn't do that. Dread only works on the weak minded and desperate. And those should not be LTR material

Yes, by inserting the idea in her mind that you are considering other options, women freak in the immediate term to prevent you doing so. Long term, the fact that you are demonstrating that you are considering options, and especially displaying this to her, she won't trust you, will feel insecure and ultimately will start looking for something else. Dread doesn't work long term. It works short term and for plates whom you don't care if you damage the underlying trust.

Its what keeps her from you leaving her... So that she can then leave you on her terms because she doesn't trust you

No, they would think you're above it. By engaging, you bring yourself down to her level. She has managed to get a reaction. Which means she was in control of the situation.

No. Dread doesn't work in LTR. It erodes trust. She will comply just to keep you, but deep down know you are constantly on the verge of leaving and start scoping her other options, even if that's not what she was originally doing. If you can't have LTR without those types of techniques, you aren't compatible.

It means don't use her. She is being honest. If your intentions aren't genuine, plenty of other girls who are dtf with no strings, who are not straight up asking you to please not hurt them. Have some respect where it's due.

Look at you all worried about if she's looking and what she thinks of pics your posting. Who is on whose mind right now.

I don't think he's a natural alpha. Judging by what I know of his previous relationship, she totally walked all over him. This is actually part of what made it so unattractive to me, that he is still actually veryuch under his control. She's recently engaged to someone else, and he literally had tears in his eyes the day I he said he has contact with her, as he described that sometimes the only thing that kept him going in the last year was that she sends him pictures of her dogs. After she brok…

I disagree that it was an ultimatum. Before I agreed to a relationship, I made it very clear for him that this was a deal breaker for me. I didn't want to enter into a relationship then later make an ultimatum. The reason I had even asked him about it prior to the relationship was because the opinion around the office was that he talks excessively about his ex and is obsessed. So when he started pursuing me I quite transparently said this is a concern I have, so I would like to make sure we are …

Thats a good point. In my mind I just want to at least have a conversation about what happened. Maybe it's a misunderstanding. Maybe if I hadn't done what I did, he wouldn't have gone on a dating site. After I'd apologized over and over for my behavioir, that is when he messaged me to say he just needs think time. Perhaps he was rethinking being on the site after he saw how truly sorry I was and devastated that I'd behaved the way I did. Maybe I'm just trying to make excuses for him. I've been s…

Yes, I'm so upset at myself for my behaviour. I've just not been able to work out whether he was genuine about his LTR intentions or whether I was being tricked. The dishonesty really bothers me, as I'd been really open to him that this was a deal breaker for me and made sure I cleared that with him before we agreed to be exckusive. and I felt like he intentionally hid it, which made me question that this guy was even really ever honest that he wanted a relationship or just saying whatever I wan…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
