I'm sorry hun, the FDS advice you're going to get is to leave him. It's not easy and you're going to feel terrible doing it "without proof" but your gut feeling is enough proof, always. It's telling you to get out and it's telling you what you intuitively know - that he hasn't changed and that porn sick men never do, they just learn to hide it better. You already know he's hiding what he's viewed on instagram, and you already know that he's searching these accounts and lying about it. I know you…

That's kinda the point of FDS right? We aren't trying to date what's most common, just what's right for us. For me that means someone that at least matches my income, otherwise I'm perfectly happy single and spoiling my cats. Out of millions of Americans it might be rare but the hundred or so people in my social circle/professional network? Extremely common.

If this happened, which I don't fully buy, this is it right here. You know it wasn't coincidental that his relationship ended and he just happens to bump into an old crush in a brothel. How many of us have had random LVMs hit us up after their relationship ends? He was going through his mental roster of women and stalked her and planned out this whole thing. And now he's hoping to live out some savior complex which is clear from that fake af text reply lmao.

LMAO ladies what's your score? I put unmarried, any race, 5'9", not obese, and 200k and got 0.17%. Somehow even with those odds I manage to find different guy to go on a date with every week that meets those basic standards 🤔 i guess it's delusional to want someone literally just my equal but hey its a good thing I love cats 🥰

I noticed this the other day. A girl made a post worried about how she would never find a man because she didn't want to send nudes and she shared her story of the creepy older man that was pressuring her to send nudes. She got tons of supportive comments from both men and women saying no decent guy who wants an actual relationship with you will ever ask you for nudes. Then, of course some of the LVMs had to chime in saying wEll acKsHuAllY there's nothing wrong with guys who ask and the only iss…

Haha, honestly it really was the boring way. I grew up in a conservative & sexist family where my dad would beat my mom then turn to me and say I needed to make sure I got a good job when I grow up so if my husband ever beats me I could leave (just wanna point here out that abusers 100% are strategic about what they are doing). Anyways, I really internalized that message and knew my only way out was a good education & career. My parents were immigrants so they couldn't help with much but there w…

Ahhh I'm so sorry that happened to you! It's infuriating the way they'll twist things and make you feel like you're taking crazy pills. It never made sense to me because I always gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed they cared for me. But when you realize that they're speaking from a place of resentment and jealousy it all makes a lot of sense, and just makes the whole thing so pathetic.

Exactly! I don't want kids, so being that mommy pickme for a dude was so suffocating for me. I remember thinking, I am 23 years old and exhausted from having to support another fully grown adult. Also, I value financial stability and ambition a lot so if a dude is comfortable being broke, stagnant, or irresponsible then we aren't compatible in the long run anyways even if they seem exciting and adventurous at first.

There's no way the dick is any good with a bathroom like that 🤢 I'm glad to see the commenters in the post were not having it lmao. Reminds me of that one girl on tiktok that goes to tinder dudes disgusting houses and cleans for them after sleeping with them 🤡

This kind of stuff is why cardi was right when she said broke boys don't deserve no p*ssy. I used to be like her, very very aware of my privilege and thinking I had to be comfortable dating everyone and anyone so as not to be discriminatory. My ex started out pretending to be respectful, but eventually the little jabs started. He resented me for being richer and more successful than him, even though he showed me off and gladly used my money. He wouldn't dare to try to call me spoiled or out of t…

My ex used to use that as a compliment sometimes and I didn't get it and would just stare at him blankly. "I don't think I've ever cum that quickly" after it was particularly good for him. I didn't get what he was trying to say because I literally could not tell the difference seeing as how I never came a single time in that relationship. 🤡 It was only after I found the messages of him cheating on me and him saying the same thing to another girl (I usually last a lot longer but you were sooo goo…

This is how I've always asked because previously it never occurred to me that guys don't watch porn, and it's mostly worked to get both friends and bfs to spill their guts. It also helped that I was very sex-positive and came across as open minded and non judgemental about it (because I was genuinely asking). Anyways, the two times it didn't work were with a religious guy and a socially conservative guy who I think both felt internal shame about watching it. The Christian guy I caught definitely…

I don't agree with the takeaway of this. This lady never slept around and had three relationships in the past. We can't even share this level of info with men? Nah, I'm not interested in hiding my past like that. If a man tries to hold that against me, he can gtfo and look for a virgin instead. I do agree that you don't need to go sharing body count or past sexual acts because that's nobody's business, nor do you need to share past trauma or your sensitivities because that can be used against yo…

Something just clicked for me this weekend. One of my friends said something that felt off to me and instead of my usual avoiding confrontation at all costs and telling myself I'm overreacting I decided to bring it up with him. I am so, so glad I did. I learned that he is unwilling to be honest with me and would rather gaslight me and feign ignorance and helplessness than own up to his behavior. After our call, he messaged me basically confirming what I originally thought was true, but this was …

Agreed, I've seen it so many times. Super self aware of their problems so you assume they're trying to change, but really it's a tool to garner sympathy, avoid accountability, and manipulate others.

That's why I shared this post, I still had my doubts (bc I don't have experience with porn addicts) but now I think it makes perfect sense tbh. Also anyone notice how he had to clarify "consensually of course"? Gave me the heebie jeebies and a guess as to what kind of porn he's watching...

I'm kinda so tired of this message of men who do the bare minimum of contributing to the household is super sexy. No one thinks a woman is sexy for cooking or cleaning, it's just what's expected of her. But because the bar is so low for men we get turned on by basic f-ing competence. Just so sad all around

So which is it sir? Is buying gifts extremely low effort and easy, or is it too difficult and too lavish to spend money? You can't have it both ways 🤡

I saw this on insta and the comments just ugh 🙄. Everyone defending porn and how it didn't cause him to cheat. Sure, he cheated because he wanted to, but them attacking her as unreasonable for having this boundary is soooo disheartening

I've seen this exact situation play out, these dudes are never unique. He doesn't respect the new woman either. He may have used her accomplishments to devalue his wife, but it just means the new woman will feel the need to prove her independence and fall into the 50/50 trap. Then he will discard her as well when the next younger woman comes along.

I've never noticed the walking thing, but I had my own version. I'm naturally a very slow eater and was always self conscious about it, I always apologize when others have to wait on me to finish eating, or I just ask for a box even if I'm not done. On the first date with my first ex who didn't yet know this about me he ate just as slowly as me. Later he told me he had matched my eating pace just out of consideration when he noticed. It had never even occurred to me as a thing for someone to do …

Reading those comments makes me so glad I found FDS. Hundreds of women chiming in with their similar experiences, but most of them just being flabbergasted and confused and thinking maybe they didn't communicate enough to make them understand basic consent. It took me a long time to internalize the fds message that the problem is not that men don't understand, it's that they just don't care. So much time spent wringing our hands about how to teach men to understand consent -- really, truly under…

This is horrifying. I'm also an SDE at amazon and I make over 200k, and he's older than me so he likely makes even more. This poor girl got used to subsidize this man's bills when he makes at least 5 times what she does, and he saw nothing wrong with that. This guy should've never dated her if he wasn't okay with her not being on his level.

That's so funny omg. It didn't even occur to me in a million years to buy it for him, but now reflecting on it there were so any times he tried to set things up like that. And he definitely did like to talk about how "we" should go to football games (I hate sports) or to x vacation (to places he liked) knowing I'm the only one who could afford those. So funny to realize how much he tried to set me up to be his sugar momma and how oblivious I was to it all. Well, good to know now what to look out…

Question ladies, what is a normal line for "has a high regard for your opinion"? When I was dating my broke lvm ex he really wanted to buy an expensive bike even though he was in debt, crappy credit, and also owed me money. I felt really disturbed when he even asked me my opinion on if he should buy the bike because I thought it was obvious he couldn't afford it. He told me he really wants it but if I didn't want him to he wouldn't because he respects my opinion. So then I felt even more uncomfo…

I agree with not trying to explain your boundaries by sharing your abuse. I guess my dilemma is, how would you handle explaining why you are no/low contact with your family? Most healthy people seem to expect you to be close to your family, and are shocked if you don't visit or keep in touch fairly regularly. I'm not sure how to explain why I've cut them out without mentioning that it's due to abuse? Or is it okay to mention that they are abusive, if you don't go into details beyond that?

It's so jarring to me how this article says "women" and then goes onto discuss 17yos. What the hell is with the news sidestepping that his victims were children? Literal minors. They're buying into the same cognitive dissonance she was peddling - they are minors, not children, so they're adult women now? What is this BS?

Thanks, honestly I agree. I was never very intentional about making friends before, so these were just people who were friends of friends who I just hung around with often enough we eventually we became friends. But I don't think I actually click with them as friends, especially because they 100% do expect us women to be their mommies whenever it comes to making plans.

Thanks! I think I realized what the issue is with the first friend - I have tried to keep things superficial, but he always insists on texting me a lot more to make us closer than just acquaintances. So the text convos feel like a drag, and I feel guilty for being slow to respond. I think I will have to do the slow fade out.

Hi ladies, I need help with deciding what to do with the "close" male friends in my life. Recently, I've been looking at everyone in my life through a lens of do they add value to my life? And my female friends are awesome, ones for life really, we all are comfortable opening up to each other and doing equal emotional labor, etc. But my guy friends I've been having doubts about. One of them, we have a decent amount of interests in common that none of my other friends do. But sometimes when I've …

Yup, in my case it was religion but still in a racist way. I am wary of dudes of any race now. I dated a liberal white dude thinking he might be okay since he was aware of privilege or whatever. NOPE. When we talked about our sexual fantasies he says hijab was one of his 🤮 I was the first non-white woman he had dated and even though it's a religion not a race he 100% only fetishized me that way because I'm brown, and he'd gotten the idea from seeing childhood pics of me wearing a hijab. Disgusti…

Same, I'm Pakistani as well and I felt so sad because I understood the cultural pressure she must have felt to stay & be a good wife to a piece of shit. What makes especially upset is she said in the comments that he has started turning his abuse on the kids as well (and she seems to excuse it by saying he was triggered by his own shitty childhood?). He has her in so deep I don't think she'll ever leave, and in the end it's those poor kids that will suffer -- but hey at least she has a "successf…

I'm sorry, but this is really the wrong take. Is the guy a weird man-child? Sure, he probably needs therapy or who really cares. But IMO the FDS response to this would be to make an exit plan, walk away, enforce your standards by leaving. Trying to change him & forcibly getting rid of his toys is LV and abusive behavior. I am really disturbed by the responses on this one. I remember the post of the lady who collected jars or something innocuous and the bf got rid of them - we correctly called it…

Hey girl! I'm also 25F living in the PNW working at a tech company (and I have a cat and no AC too haha). I'm not religious, but my best friend is a strong Christian and she's going on a similar FDS-like journey as me after breaking up with her LVM ex. Like others here, I strongly recommend therapy, and don't date until you reach a certain level of healed mindset. I also recommend a trauma-informed therapist for the sexual trauma these men have put you through. I'm currently unpacking something …

Just wondering, what do y'all think about having a standard of must have a bachelor's? My friend has her bachelor's in a prestigious field and is going on to pursue her masters, but she feels guilty that she was being snobby/elitist when she started having doubts about her bf who only had an associates and who made half of what she did (the money didn't bother her but his less prestigious job/education did). I think in our culture it's also something that would never have been accepted by her ex…
