I recently dated a 45yo single mum and it was the hottest sex I’ve had. She was my dream. Shame she was emotionally unavailable.

Unless we’ve agreed it’s casual, if I start sleeping with someone, then expect exclusivity, but I’m British and in my fourties’ so that’s the expectation here. I had the exact scenario you discuss where a woman I was dating had a ons with another man between our first and second date. When I found out she dropped in my estimation and I was no longer that fussed about seeing her again, which I didn’t.

I’m also concerned for you. Make sure what you eat is balanced. If you’re not feeling hungry then you’re probably fine to listen to your body, unless you are losing weight, then you might want to discuss that with a doctor.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 11:07 AM

Firstly. You can reject whoever you want. Secondly, you make a lot of false assumptions. For example, don’t assume being overweight is a choice. There are many factored such as genetics, gut microbiome etc that determine this. There is plenty of evidence around exercise and weight too, that shows when we exercise the body will naturally increase appetite to calibrate back to the bodies baseline weight. Ultimately my point is you make a lot of misinformed statements about overweight people but no…

Argh, sorry, I need to correct your statistics on longevity there. Married men don’t live 17 years longer than their single peers, they do live longer but on average it’s about 2 years. And no, single women don’t live longer than their married peers, they also live 2 years longer, than single women. Here is the study on this https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7452000/

Oh I’m pretty sure women can always find someone to sleep with, if they want. Most men, not so much, unless they are willing to pay of course.

I think we are relatively friendly in the UK, even in London. Likewise, I generally smile at anyone, regardless of gender, if my eye catches theirs. I also hold doors open for men and women alike. It's always appreciated or reciprocated, and if I talk to people, they generally interact with me positively. From Reddit, I get the impression this isn't the case everywhere, especially in the US.

Not at all , but you said single women lived longer than married ones which is fundamentally untrue and unlike happiness, is measurable. Happiness is subjective.

Happiness to me, isn’t jaded, angry and shouting and swearing to yourself. But I guess happiness is subjective and only “measurable” by self reporting so this study should be taken with a pinch of salt and therefore anecdotal in itself. What is measurable is life expectancy and married women live on average 2 years longer than their supposedly “happier” counterparts. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7452000/

I know plenty of older women 60+ who never married or had kids and they say they are happy but they seem pretty miserable to me. My aunt is one, several of my mums friends, my next door neighbour. Most come across quite jaded or angry. My neighbour for example is always shouting and getting angry to herself. I hear it through the walls. Yet in person she is pleasant and you’d think her happy. A lot of women I’ve dated in their 40s and 50s who were childless have pretty much all had some form of …

That’s not true. Statistically married couple live on average two years longer than their unmarried counterparts. There are studies about unmarried women being happier but happiness is hard to measure. I’d ask, if they are so happy why do they not live as long? 🤷‍♂️ Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7452000/

I think the key is people change when they have kids. You have no choice, it’s such a lifestyle shift and sometimes two people can be on the same path but after a change like that, they diverge slightly (perhaps in their values and goals) and over time that compounds. In my ex’s case she became more focused on the kids than our relationship and although the sex worked between us she didn’t show up as a partner in other ways. I did everything to try and find middle ground with her but she didn’t …

While I don’t think this is universal I certainly know women who feel like they have settled and I can’t imagine that feeling helps long term intimacy.

I think this is definitely a cause. I wasn’t in a dead bedroom even after being together for 22 years but things changed between my ex and I after kids and never truly got resolved.

This 💯. When people say “improve yourself” this is the detail in what they mean.

My understanding is that most of their clients are actually married men, not guys who women wouldn’t regularly have sex with. Incels don’t use prostitution afaik. I guess it’s a pride thing?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 07:34 AM

Well I think the idea is that it’s different women. Fun with the high body count ones and settling with someone with low body count. Incidentally it’s not just men that value a high body count women lower it’s women and society too. I know if I sleep with a woman with a reputation, it’s more likely my female friends that will call me out on it. I wonder if its because women can access sex easily so by being selective she is showing self worth and therefore, higher value, whereas for men obtainin…

In that case, since we are simply talking about women with model level beauty, I’m going with a tiny percentage. Not because they are chads but because they happen to be straight men working in the fashion industry.

Have you heard of “yachting”? The first two are literally on a yacht so you can probably sleep with them too if you have the money and are that way morally inclined.

It’s called classic clothing and by its very nature cant be outdated. Also watch some men’s fashion YouTubers and you’ll learn what is actually in fashion.

But that’s the point it’s subjective. I’m not sure what you’re suggesting is possible. I’d place her on one side of the line or the other based on my own subjectivity.

All this is subjective. If I found her attractive (which isn’t just physical) then yes I would, if I didn’t then no.

It’s apparently 65.3% of all users according to this study are married or “in a relationship,”

This sentiment seems very reductive but I’m sure there is a certain Yin and Yang element to it where those with typical “feminine” traits will seek a man with more typical “masculine” traits. It surely creates more balance in a relationship. You can be masculine without the bravado or being an athlete though and still be a good guy. Focus on things like confidence, strength of character, leadership, judgement, being able to make decisions, focus, ambition etc. These are all typically “masculine”…

Well at the moment I’m on vacation in France and it’s been hot here so bespoke fitted linen trousers in stone from a boutique London menswear brand and a navy linen short sleeve button down from a fast fashion brand (but it’s acceptable quality). And then either leather penny loafers for bars in the evening or white trainers (sneakers), again boutique London brand. I grew up in a very fashion conscious Parisian family so if it gets their seal of approval via complements then I’m on the right tra…

But if hot is defined by being slim and having a six pack then that is attainable to pretty much all of us. Albeit at a lifestyle cost.

It’s solid advise. I see few well dressed men outside the likes of London, Paris etc. But I agree you need to be slim to look as good as these guys and even better if you spend 2-3 days a week in the gym and obsessively eat protein and avoid sugar and carbs. It’s obtainable, but at a cost.

Ha well as a man who believes he dresses well, I can tell you we don’t wear waist coats, wool trousers or jackets (as in your link) in the summer as otherwise we’d pass out from the heat. Though there are some good linen options for this time of year but despite keeping us cool they are a pain in the arse to keep crease free.

Look I’m not looking to argue with you. I gave anecdotal evidence to suggest that women who I personally know who didn’t have children for all sorts of reasons, including the reason cited by the original commenter above may regret not having children even if they don’t think they will now. There is an implication and subtext in both the OC comments and in turn yours as you are defending them, that suggest millennials and gen z are somehow different and that’s where our disagreement lies. I don’t…

Some did and didn’t find the right partner, some couldn’t have children, some prioritised their careers and some thought they didn’t want children, then age crept up on them and suddenly they changed their mind. I’m not convinced your generation will be any different. If you don’t personally want children and know for certain you’ll never change your mind or at least be okay with any regret then that’s great, but don’t presume you speak for an entire generation when historic evidence suggests th…

I’m sure there are women who actively don’t want children but anecdotally, the majority of women I’ve dated in their 40s without kids have been pretty upset and bitter about it.

Exactly, plus it’s not exactly liberal of her to judge people by skin colour anyway

Yeah this sounds about right as a 45m. It’s not always the case but it sometimes feels like I end up being the one to take women out on dates and providing the intellectual stimulation (and footing the bill) while sex is reserved for the hot younger 30 something plaything guys. I think I had more fun in my Teens/20s but that was a very different era of meeting women in clubs/bars, at work and through friends.

How do you know they saw your profile and swiped left? You can’t possibly know unless they tell you in which case I’d be interested to know why they swiped left but ultimately I wouldn’t have an issue as I’d rather know they like me in person than they like an avatar of me and a few words. Much better that way round than the other.

I think most women will pick Zelenskyy. If not his looks, all he stands for. He represents all that can be positive in terms of masculinity. He has strength, courage, kindness (from what I’ve seen), he stands up for what he believes, is confident and not only a protector of his family but an entire nation and upholding western principles. I’m sure he has his flaws but he certainly appears to be a genuine hero.

I’m on my 40s and successful and left my wife but not to date 20yo women but because we grew apart and neither of us were making each other happy. I didn’t want to become her parents, these two resentful people stuck together. I can confirm younger, prettier women are not coming out of the woodwork. Though my ex set a high bar but for now I’m focusing on my work and kids, the dating I’ve done have been with women the same age, or within 5 years of my age. I’m not sure younger women would have an…

I’ve always done option 3. Where we both had our respective incomes paid into our own accounts but paid a proportional amount into a joint account each month to cover joint costs. Rent, bills, food etc.

You don’t have to be effeminate to work in fashion but I can confirm having done some fashion photography work about a decade ago, working with agency and non agency models, as well as stylists, you get lots of opportunities. Though I’d argue there are two things going on here. Not only are these women in a female dominated industry with less opportunities for them to interact with men but also when you do a lot of work in an industry like this you become very comfortable around women in general…
