That's a silly way to describe it. To put things in TRP terms, I am exceptionally good at maintaining frame, particularly in a relationship. This was her first attempt at breaking that frame in nearly 12 weeks, and it has wildly backfired on her. To put things in normal people terms, though: I am naturally persuasive and quite gifted at reading people. When I'm in a relationship, I do not feel like someone else is steering, and I am good at setting firm boundaries for how it is acceptable to tre…

Ha, well, looks like I may have to dump her. She got drunk and treated me horribly pretty much out of the blue, so now it's going to be remarkably tough to ever trust her not to do that again. She's apologetic as hell and promises it will never happen again, but she may have forced my hand in dumping her ass. What kind of a dumbass would risk a relationship they love and cherish on a drunken whim? Especially if you're with someone who you know, if you force him to choose between self-respect and…

You're helping a girl that's fucking you. As if that's a favor exclusively for me?

you let me sleep in EVERY day while you get up with the girls, you change more diapers than I do, and you cook dinner every night after working all day, all the time telling me to relax. What kind of person thinks that doing all this for someone is what love means? Real love pushes both partners to be better people. This kind of pseudo-love is nothing but insecurity, "please don't leave me" communicated in 100 different ways, and actually makes her a worse human being.

Well that's an awfully stupid point to make then. It's like a subreddit devoted entirely to white bishop strategy in chess. Someone who says "hey, I can't win a chess game with the tips here" can be dismissed with a simple "that's not what this sub is about, bra."

So if I did know what this sub is about, then I would see those things?

I have personal experience with this. She broke up with him because he was lowly and demonstrated unmanly characteristics (ie. showered her with affection). You don't know that. You're literally basing this off of nothing. I agree that if she gave no reasons short of a "I just don't feel it anymore," then she probably has some romantic interest in someone else and doesn't have her shit figured out enough to know the difference between a relationship and a crush, and he should not get back with h…

It's a dreaded game of "find out what I'm thinking" till you're both dead My ex was like that. That was a big part of the reason I was terribly unhappy in the relationship – if your happiness depends on me being good at guessing what you want from me, you're in for a pretty miserable time (and you'll make me miserable in the process). They aren't all like that, though. My present girlfriend doesn't do this. As for shit tests, everybody does "shit tests." Men and women. I did, without even realiz…

Maybe he liked her and thought it would be fun.

An adventurous badass woman who fucks like some BPD psycho with the morals and personality of a good girl. Hold out hope. I have that, and she's awesome. And her family, with whom she has a great relationship, is also awesome. Just screen out the people that have families you wouldn't want to marry into, and then from that pool find the fun exciting ones.

When I like a girl, I tell her in no uncertain terms: "Hey, I like you and I'm attracted to you." Something like that. A few years ago, I went on a few dates with someone who, for whatever reason, saw me as a "nice guy" – no real romantic interest in me, but enjoyed my company. Taking this approach, I wasted no more romantic time on her. Trying to figure out clues would have been impossible – I still don't know whether she wanted to fuck me when she invited me over after we had been drinking on …

This thread is full of bad advice. I don't know how old you are (and this depends on your age), but your ex-girlfriend likely wants you because she feels lonely and misses all the good parts of your relationship. If the relationship didn't have good parts, you never would have been in it in the first place. Why did the relationship end the first time? Did it fail because one or both of you lacked boundaries? Have either of you changed to fix the shit that made it fail? If she ended things for re…

The reason I say this is that truly showing love and appreciating a partner are not easy. And I don't mean gestures at the beginning of a relationship where you're trying to woo a girl (those are easy); I mean the truly selfless "I got this to make you happy and for no other reason. You could dump me right this second and I would still want you to have this" gestures. I've never seen anyone here say they did something for a SO just to show their love and appreciation. To me, that's a huge part o…

Usually people use that to describe wild insecurity, which is unattractive because it means a person is terrible at setting boundaries and would make an awful parent. Not what's going on here. This one took a lot of work.

Long enough to have been through some pretty shitty times, too. The difference for this relationship, and why I feel so encouraged and hopeful, is that I can see exactly how much each of us have changed since we started. I can see exactly how we've each worked on – and improved on – the things about ourselves that made the relationship difficult.

You're an adult. Handle your marriage like an adult and talk to the woman you chose to marry about what things in your marriage you want to change and improve upon. Explain that that improvement will help both of you grow into more complete and better human beings, etc. etc. You're tinkering with the engines of a plane while it's flying; you better be damn sure to tell your copilot the engines are being worked on or she will be senselessly confused.

God this whole sub is filled with terrible advice. You handled the situation fine. You don't need to play mind games. You have boundaries about what you're comfortable doing for women you don't know very well; you stuck to them without being rude; and your boundaries are for your peace of mind, not concocted as some manipulative game to gain a woman's affection. Handle this like a normal adult. If you feel like seeing her, even in a friendly capacity, then ask for an apology for her childish beh…
