Honestly, sneaked sounds so wrong versus snuck [to me], which works fluidly with "sneak", but sneaked sounds like someone forgot the word to use so they added some ending to it to show some tense change and made a new word.

I believe the main reason she got nothing was because she wasn't actually married to him. The time they got together, the divorce between billionaire and his ex-wife hadn't actually been proper, with her never being served/noticed of the divorce, and her side never going through with it (unbeknownst to the billionaire), so the marriage to the [alleges] gold digger was annulled.

Though I agree with you, it's more or less involuntary bait. Sure, some b(m)illionares look for trophy wives, but not all of them actually just look out to find one. It's unfortunate when it happens, but when they become rich, that becomes the bait that they may or may not have wanted to be out there for every woman to see, so a person "catching" a gold digger may have been totally a reluctant move on their part.
