I mean that you can hold on to the belief that this woman represents all professional women, and consequently avoid them altogether when you are at work. But if you do so, you will miss out on opportunities for professional growth and teamwork. And in order to be promoted, you need to demonstrate your ability to work well with both women and men.

I work in finance, and collaboration is critical in my role. None of the women at my workplace, myself included, would ever want flirtation or anything short of professionalism from our coworkers. the men in my office are respectful and hard working, we have very constructive working relationships. The video is obviously a cherry picked example. No serious workplace operates on such a casual basis. And if you want a prosperous career with upward mobility, strong interpersonal skills are needed. …

Wait why would men avoid women in the workplace? That’s very strange and unprofessional behavior. Work is work. You are there to solve problems, usually through team work. I would be seriously off put by anyone who is antisocial in a team setting.

I’m sorry, maybe I’m misunderstanding your point. Why should a man who is, for example, a doctor, expect a partner who surpasses his own lifestyle? I’m a working professional, an accountant at a managing level in my 20s. My partner is a staff SWE. Pretty much everyone I know is dating within their socioeconomic class. We are in long term committed relationships and take care of our health/appearance. Where is the mismatch? From my POV (and I suspect statistics would support), people generally du…

I’m sorry… but how much higher can the standard get? Women now graduate college more than men, enroll in medical and law school more than men, we all wear makeup every day, spend liberally on fashion, maintain active social lives more than men. If a man can’t keep up, then that’s his problem. I don’t see why I should lower my standards.

No, I agree that the original comment was incorrect. With that being said, the fact that so many pregnant women become victims of homicides is horrific. I don’t think it’s categorically feminist to say that?

Did you read the article? The meta data references the following: “Of 38,417 female victims aged 15-44 years identified in the data set, 10,411 had known pregnancy status; 1,300 of those deaths were pregnancy associated. Of all deaths with known pregnancy status, 3,203 were by homicide (30.8%) and 7,208 (69.2%) were by suicide” 30% is preposterous.

Right! I forgot, nearly ALL men have deadly jobs. 🙄 get back to us when the number of men in deadly careers outweighs the number of women who give birth.

Surely technological innovation could resolve the issues brought on by sinking TFR before we… enslave women to have children??? The world is changing quickly, these sorts of regressive solutions you hint at make no sense.

Shiver me timbers! MisterDudeBroGuy on reddit.com is so big, bad, and scary. What will we do if he chooses to go to war in his loneliness? Go implicitly threaten women with r*pe elsewhere, genuinely, what is wrong with you?

Don’t be obtuse. My father met my mother while he was traveling abroad to my mother’s home town in latin america. they became engaged within two weeks. I know first hand the kind of struggle and power imbalances that exist in these types of marriages. I’m not opposed to men going abroad to find a partner, but it really upsets me when men tout its benefits and completely ignore what the reality is for the woman once she moves here. Do you think the racism (often from the husband’s family), career…

The link you sent states this: One in 4 women and about 1 in 26 men have experienced completed or attempted rape. With that being said, I think I’ll concede that the US does not take male victims seriously at all, and we do need to hold female rapists accountable. I’m sorry to hear about your experience, too, and I can’t imagine someone telling me that I should’ve enjoyed what I went through. Our society failed you if you ever felt that way.

I don’t disagree that your example has happened before to numerous men. Just that there are many many more rapes which women suffer, with hard evidence. Like rape kits, witnesses, text messages, etc. Still, only 69% of felony rape convictions result in jail time. Where is the justice for those women? https://cmsac.org/facts-and-statistics/#:~:text=60%25%20of%20rapes%2Fsexual%20assaults,50.8%25%20chance%20of%20an%20arrest. This is a good point, and I agree that if this is happening, that’s abhorrent. But more broadly, male rapists are not held accountable at the expense of women’s (and men’s) safety, don’t you think that’s also worth caring about?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/23 03:42 PM

These are extreme outliers that hardly broach the 1/6 women who experience sexual assault or rape. I agree that all of the things you listed are abhorrent, but I don’t think any of them are exclusive to women. Men also lie about SA, they lie about their perpetration. They abuse their male privilege far more than women are even able to. They don’t just advocate for killing all women, they do kill women at a much higher frequency than the converse. While I don’t agree that there should be a curfew…

Thanks for explaining your viewpoint in more detail. I agree with your opinion that we shouldn’t govern whether adult people can consume porn or not. My opinion, boiled down, is that I personally take issue with porn viewership. That basically means I will not be with a man who consumes porn, since habitual porn viewers have more than likely consumed images of pain and suffering. As far as OSHA standards in Nevada, there is still the prevalent issue of sex trafficking and pimping. Independent co…

Hard to up and leave when you have literally no other job prospects? Especially given the social stigma towards sex workers. Not to mention sex trafficking, where the women are forcibly kept in the industry. Do you have zero awareness of how industries and corporations function in the US? They must comply with certain standards and perform accordingly during audits. The victim is not at fault for their own abuse, there is obviously someone else in the wrong. Name ONE other industry where rape an…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but most industries where the employer abuses or takes advantage of the employees, we hold the employer accountable, rather than the employee for choosing that job (e.g., amazon). In porn, the victims just so happen to be 90% women. What accountability are you referring to exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/23 07:18 PM

Tell me why the sex industry fails to comply with OSHA standards, yet it’s completely ethical in our economy? We should still have standards. Other industries comply with workplace safety mandates, and if they don’t, we can generally acknowledge that the industry which harms its employees is in the wrong. With that being said, there is something quite grotesque about consuming the visuals of women and men in abusive situations. If you are a regular porn viewer, you have VERY likely witnessed (un…

I don’t think it’s radical, nor exclusively feminist, to oppose rape, abuse, and CSA that stems from sex work? If you are aware of the massive pitfalls of the porn industry AND STILL continue to watch, then that is the real moral abomination. And it’s not that I think people shouldn’t be able to sell sex if they want to… my issue is that the vast majority of women (and men!) involved feel they have no other choice and have to deal with abuse as a consequence. Is that not concerning to you?! Even…

Because the consumers are largely part of the oppressive tier within the sex work industry? Men own, film, pimp, and sell women’s bodies. Don’t be fooled by the .01% of sex workers who get rich on OF, the majority are trying to claw their way from poverty with the one commodity they have to sell. The porn industry is littered with rape and abuse. I do blame men who consume this content rather than the women. /r/PurplePillDebate19/10/23 03:25 AM

If you’re asking why porn is bad, let me assure you that its detriments extend far beyond moral anxieties. Firstly, the class stratification is extremely asymmetrical in sex work, meaning only a very very small percentile of sex workers make a livable wage. Such a lifestyle is far from empowering, in fact, it precedes a life dominated by financial struggle. Beyond that, sex work fails to comply with the basic safety conditions mandated by OSHA, which inherently positions a career in SW as one wh…

/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/23 06:09 AM

Dude, porn stars regularly experience traumatic events as a byproduct of the career. We shouldn’t compare it to any other trauma, because you’re right that it’s very different from a soldier’s PTSD. Nonetheless, it’s still an issue
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/23 05:47 AM

What? This is the dumbest comparison; when you gamble, there is no guarantee of any return for your money. When you pay a sex worker, you get exactly what you pay for.

Absolutely agree that men overall are generally great and harmless people. But, when it’s at the point where over 97% of murders and assault are committed by men, then I think maybe we should ask ourselves why? It’s not a matter of physical strength, since men hurt other men far more than women hurt other women. We shouldn’t just ignore the issue entirely since it impacts both men and women everywhere in this country
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/23 05:07 AM

Okay but in longterm relationships, you obviously go through every possible emotion with your partner. You will 10000% see your man cry, and most normal women will only want to comfort and hug their partner in that moment. It’s not a turn off at all; just because misogyny and toxic masculinity socialize men to feel ashamed of more stereotypically “feminine” expressions, doesn’t mean you can project it onto the other sex.

Lmaoooo please tell me about your undying contribution to society as a man? Are you trying to tell me that traditionally female jobs are useless?? Teachers and nurses? And what about the modern day women in medicine, law, economics, etc. Me and all the women I know have successful careers, and we do it while wearing makeup. It’s incredibly hurtful when men diminish our hard work, investment in our education, and passion. Can’t you empathize with that?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/23 03:35 PM

Wtf😭 it’s terrifying to see someone genuinely think these things. Maybe, just maybe, women were pressured to be their most beautiful and refined self for thousands of years, and recently, were able to enter the workforce so that they could live an independent lifestyle. Meanwhile, men are graduating college at a lesser rate than women and don’t have the same pressure to become beautiful. How about you catch up, instead of arguing for a society that drags women down to your level

How exactly are women oppressing men with their power? You are aware that men deferring to their “tingles” (lmfao) abuse their power every day by raping and abusing 99% of all victims (which includes both men AND women). PLEASE explain to me where women’s power comes into play in this society

You’re so right, we need to treat women like adults and they need to stop freeloading off the government so men can continue to have the freedom to behave like children 😡 after all, women have the responsibility to choose the right man, take birth control, and carry the baby to term. Wow, putting the onus on a woman who is in sex work to reduce a man’s urge to commit violent acts is horrendous in the moral sense. Nobody should have to bare the responsibility of another person’s virtue
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 02:15 AM

Sure, the root cause can be psychological, but the actual experience of the condition is physiological. As someone who used to have vaginismus, it’s completely out of your control, reflexive, and very painful. It also doesn’t necessarily entail sexual situations either; many women with vaginismus first discover they have it when they try to use a tampon for the first time.

Nobody is arguing that women shouldn’t be treated as “fully fledged adults” when it comes to choice and dating. Firstly, the woman did not choose for the man to harm her. It was not her choice, and the onus for another person’s actions should not be placed on her. The man chose to harm her. Why do you only discuss the woman’s choice to initially date him while completely disregarding the more obvious and major choice involved with abuse: the decision to inflict harm. Should abusive men not be tr…

I also don’t claim to know have any position of authority to tell men or women what to do. Which is why I suggested other professional men to begin with. On the other hand, are you arguing that you are in a position of superiority to tell women how they ought to react to men? What do you view to be a healthy way of communicating, then?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 07:00 PM

Absolutely not. I specifically reference male-approved and developed methods of communication by referencing books written by male scientists and therapists who specialize in male trauma. Besides, women as a whole did not personally victimize you. If you’re a virgin, you’re most likely blaming women for something that’s ultimately your fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:30 PM

Oh please, stop lamenting about “women approved” topics. Nobody but the echo chambers on redpill forums will tolerate entitlement or prejudice. Your language here, reducing misogyny to simply not “woman approved” and calling women harpies is, quite frankly, annoying. Learn how to communicate your feelings in healthy and meaningful ways by reading one the many great self help books written by male psychologists or get a therapist that specializes in male trauma. Alternatively, you can blame women…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:18 PM

That’s exactly my point, though. Wallowing does nothing for your character; beyond that, it’s not the self-reflection you claim it to be. Self-reflection requires an inward critique and challenging your own beliefs, not blaming every hardship on women. “Being a misogynist doesn’t make you a terrible human being” is not reflective of self development, you accepted your own faults.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 05:29 PM

Being a surgeon does not mean you are pleasant or engaging to be around. But it is an amazing accomplishment, and I would recommend leading with your passions rather than your bitterness to make friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 05:03 PM

Consequence of an infirm character. You wasted time devolving further into your own prejudices instead of reading, studying, exercising, and doing. You only proved your critics right

I meant that your “random sample” seems to stem from the results you believe would represent the views you have read on this website. Therefore, the bias would be unclear simply by looking at a graph since it came from a niche. My entire point is that I DON’T think 80% of men are below average. I think the majority of insecure redditor men on here claiming that they’re part of a majority are plainly wrong.

Then tell me how more than 20% of adult men are in relationships? Just because you’re viewed as objectively unattractive, does not mean it’s some societal mistake and that, instead, you’re actually average + everyone else surely views most men to be as ugly as you. Doesn’t it make more sense that you would be in the bottom percentile of attractiveness?

My issue with this take is that the statistical correlation between race and crime can actually be explained by historical socioeconomic stratification along race lines, such as redlining, slavery, housing discrimination, and racial profiling within the justice system. On the other hand, violence perpetrated by men specifically towards women cannot be explained by social class or historical oppression. Rich men commit IPV, as well as poor men, minority men, white men, liberal men, conservative m…

I’m sorry, but stereotypes and your honest to goodness opinion just don’t cut it. Bring me statistical facts that refute how men’s aggression is a more pressing societal issue right now than PMS. Men frequently demonize women through their misogyny, further, misogyny is a precursory ideology to violence. But you shouldn’t (and you likely won’t) care about femicide simply for women’s sake. The violence and murder committed towards men is disproportionately committed by OTHER MEN. Pointing this ou…

While I do certainly see the challenges men face in these days with dating, I still think it’s damaging to reduce feminism to sex and romance (since it primarily aims to eliminate violence, unequal representation, and sexual assault for women. With that being said, I think that men’s issues, such as the risk for assault, intersectional issues, and suicide, also deserve advocacy.) Your approach to women, which appears to be motivated mostly by sexual urges, dooms you to fail. Women can sense horn…

Concepts like hypergamy and masculine frame are so rudimentary in society, that they are central themes in age-old fables. You do realize that there is more to an individual apart from looks? She’s clearly an outlier due to her lifestyle and choices. I don’t know any woman in my life who would give up their career to become a sugar baby. Rather, we are in happy and fulfilling relationships where we feel respected and accepted for who we are. As far as abuse goes, women are at a much higher risk of bodily injury and even death than men are as a result of domestic violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/23 08:33 PM
4

Then why focus on an obvious outlier? At best, you’re arguing that the average woman has stooped to the level of the average man. Both work, both are kinda crusty looking, and both are uninteresting. Big deal? When women refer to the bar being in hell for men, they aren’t talking about the superficial bs like physical appearance or money. It’s usually in reference to the way their partner treats them (physical/verbal abuse, cheating, etc.)

I seriously doubt that a statically significant number of respondents rationalized a bad faith answer like that. Women aren’t as different from men as you seem to believe when it comes to work ethic. In fact, as the times change and more of us crave independence, women increasingly outperform men in college and outnumber men in the US’ college educated work force https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/11/08/whats-behind-the-growing-gap-between-men-and-women-in-college-completion/ https://www…

The rest of us have no issues with romance or sex, don’t blame social welfare for your virginity

It’s deeply sad how OP finds a way to blame women for injustices thrust upon them by men they trusted. He does not have a lens of morality, independent of sex, to understand victimhood in general. OP, if you’re reading this, please keep in mind that we should reject the type of people who use violence to interfere with someone else’s free will. Man or woman.

I’m sorry; are you implying that women need to take responsibility for being abuse victims? Regardless of gender, perpetrators of violence are the ones who the law forces to take responsibility. It’s an issue of morality, which appears to be defunct in your eyes when a woman is involved.

People are free to have their preferences, and I would never blame anyone for listing sexual history as an important factor. With that being said, why is it unacceptable (in your view) for a woman to judge the consequences of a man’s lack of sexual history (not good at sex, can’t keep a hard, awkwardness, etc.), yet a man can judge a woman for the consequences of her “colorful history” (e.g.: trauma, doesn’t want to repeat uncomfortable positions, waiting to have sex)? So what? We do away with rehabilitative programs, therapy, and anger management classes for perpetrators because alas, abuse is an inevitable crime? Of course not, education and prevention helps women identify red flags (like misogyny) and establishes a reintigrative path for abusers. Abuse is extremely complicated and often entails conflicting emotions, like loving someone who hurts you. as an abuse survivor myself, I believe it’s narrow-minded to tell someone that it’s their fault they were hit or strangled because they didn’t up and leave. The risk of death for women who experience abuse is very high. I don’t see a good reason to center a discussion around women avoiding red flags for abuse (misogyny being one of those https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/intimatepartnerviolence/riskprotectivefactors.html ) around how people who exhibit those red flags have a hard time dating. Should women be the ones burdened to change in this case, or men? My partner is a feminist, and that was one thing I found very attractive about him!
