There is such a thing as naturally successful. There are MASSIVE genetic differences between people and elude to their natural ability to do something. Yes, even someone with natural talent probably worked hard, but naturally successful people do exists

For that to be comparable to my statement you’d have to prove that one side VASTLY uses these fallacious arguments and other bad practices more than others, which you have yet to do. My argument is that I see it enough on both sides for it to be a problem that both share. The exact amount is debatable, but well within reason. Unlike your example of the Amazon and the Sahara

You have yet to explain why it is meaningless and useless. The use of the premise is explained in the post and in my reply that it is to show why people can’t make progress in these discussions. That conclusion gives it meaning. You don’t need to compare to arrive at that.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/21 10:10 PM

That doesn’t defeat anything about the premise. It’s the biggest problem in the sub (in my opinion) that people make bad arguments. Saying both sides do it doesn’t make it any less valid. Also thanks for letting me know the logical usage of the word. I’ve never heard it in that form

I don’t want to be that guy, but that’s not the definition of tautology. I’m not saying the same thing in different words, I’m using the same words to explain that the problem is that all parties on here can’t have worthwhile discussions since they use poor debate practices.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/21 07:26 PM

Both sides use fallacious arguments and such. If you want to debate on which side does it more that’s another topic all together, but the point is that both do it to a noticeable amount. Even in this comment thread a rp guy was strawmanning the opposition.

It can be, but it is still a bad argument and won’t convince anyone of anything. If I take a marker with no label or anything to show it’s color and make an assertion that it’s a black marker because I’ve seen it, and because my friends say it’s true, then it may be true that I’m right, but my arguments are still bad and shouldn’t convince anyone

I don’t expect them to, but it is a problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/21 01:56 AM

That’s a fair point. I do enjoy reading a lot of the informal posts, but if people want to have their points taken seriously then they need to avoid using things like strawmanning or fallacious arguments

Hearing is different from listening. You do exactly what you criticize others of doing. Anyways, enjoy the echo chamber

“Winning a debate against a smart man is difficult. Winning a debate against an idiot is impossible” some smart guy. I’m very into debate and discussion (been in many clubs for it since middle school, so I get the frustration

I agree completely. You have to take it case by case. I disagree that the conversations are doomed from the start, because lots of people do put in their specific points, which is where conversations can be had

I don’t expect the mods to police the sub that hard. I think it’s more of something that the individuals need to look at before they post. Also the “and you cite your TRP source” is a bad argument not because of the no true Scotsman fallacy, but rather because of free extrapolation fallacy. Basically you can’t extrapolate an entire ideology or point of view from a single individual or study. All sides do this a ton

The problem most people are having with your post is that you try to stay neutral by saying everyone has it hard, but they stop being neutral by saying women have it harder and no one can disagree with it. Your argument about different countries is unimportant because on this subreddit people focus almost solely on first world countries such as the US, Canada, UK etc. also your point about historical oppression also doesn’t matter for the most part since people here generally talk about recent (…

Just like the “sluts have daddy issues” thing this is an gross over exaggeration. I get around a good bit both on tinder and by meeting people in class and I have a very good relationship with my parents. A few of my friends that also get around a lot also have very good relationships with their families

Yes, but women not only hold more fat naturally (about 10% more body fat than men), but they also hold their fat differently. Men hold it in a significantly smaller area (gut, chest, lower back) while women have the luxury of holding it in larger areas (legs, but, arms). A women of high body fat is more attractive than a man is similar levels of fat (subtract 10% for natural body fat differences due to sex)
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/20 10:01 PM

That really depends on a lot of things. I’m a Mexican who grew up in the suburbs of Minnesota, so 95% of the people I interacted with and went to school with were white, so all my relationships happened to be with white women for some time. As I became older and got out of high school that changed, but it really depends on circumstance

I’ve got problems with that he posted, but I’m not talking about that right now. Yes male sexlessness is more prevalent than female sexlessness, but that isn’t what the discussion was about

Girls do the exact same tho
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/20 10:55 PM

This isn’t exclusive to men. I swear almost everything being complained about on here is relevant to both genders
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/20 10:54 PM

It depends on how you look at it. In some ways it is 100% successful. The “universal truth” is that if you maximize your attractiveness then you maximize your chances of success in relationships and casual sex. Technically that is always true. If you do that and you get rejected then that still holds up as true.

“They base their self worth on how much women want them” That is part of their self worth, but it is also part of women’s. I saw a post earlier on here asking women how’d they feel if their partner did not find them sexually attractive, but stay with them because of their personality. Majority of the comments were saying they’d be devastated, so it seems more like a basic human feeling to find worth in others liking you (or in this case your partner finding you sexually attractive)

And when you look at who is the largest majority of the dating pool (18-29) women cheat more
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/20 11:18 PM
1

The exact number varies greatly depending on your source. The only thing that is consistent is women cheat more before 30 and men cheat more after 30.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/20 10:25 PM
1

Actually, women are more likely than men to cheat from ages 18-29, and then men close that gap and exceed it later in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/20 09:37 PM
1

I’d say it depends on the situation on who ends up better in the short term, but in the long term it is the best for both parties.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/20 07:23 PM
1

Actually both genders cheat at about an equal rate.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/20 06:45 PM
5

That’s the point of the post. OP is saying that if you’re in that situation as a man then you should leave
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/20 06:38 PM

“Do most men take that long to realize that?” Most people take a long time to realize things are issues. Things like being obese or overweight don’t happen overnight. They’re compiled over many many years of a lifestyle that isn’t healthy. Of course people don’t notice these things while they’re happening.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/20 11:20 PM
1

To an extent yes. That’s what, if given the choice to mold the world a lot of guys would want. Similar to how with women they want men who are extremely attractive and alpha asf, but also are sensitive and honest, but will settle for average looking to below average looking women. It’s almost like people want things that are contradictory in general. With a lot of things I see here I don’t see this as a gender issue. This is something true for both sides
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 05:07 PM
2

Perfectly fair assessment. I agree with you, but the points made by the other poster are very flawed. People in general should always be carful and take precautions. There will always be a minority of people who seek to do harm to others. I personally don’t see this as a gender issue though. The issue I had with the other poster was their extrapolation of their experiences to literally every single man

Yet you have provided zero evidence to the following other than some of the worst pedantic arguments I have ever seen. Take a communications class or two and learn how to speak to actual human being.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 11:39 AM

Okay, most men are harmless and most men pose no danger to you. You should take precautions since there is always a chance, but most men will not hurt you

X group is inherently bad. Can’t you see why X group is inherently bad? We are always making excuses for X group. Your arguments are actually terrible. Jews are inherently bad. You can tell they’re bad because of the way they are
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/20 11:45 PM
6

X happened to me therefore X is the standard. I’ve seen X person do this so X group is all the same as X person. My mom beat the shit out of me, does that make all women abusive uncaring people?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/20 10:49 PM

I said if you believe that every man is a piece of garbage then yes you should. Here in reality where everyone else is the answer is no, since every man isn’t garbage, and people have the ability to choose good and bad partners. I’ve said this a few times already, but this isn’t a gender issue. This is true for both genders
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/20 12:03 AM

I’m earnestly sorry that people treated you poorly, but that adds nothing to the conversation. I never said “all men are good” I said some people are good and some are bad when it comes to being a partner. People treated you like shit and it sucks, but sometimes we make bad choices in partners. My first 2 girlfriends cheated on me, and I later found a trend in women that I picked. Is it my fault I got cheated on? No, but it is my decisions that lead me to those women. After seeing more of these …
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/20 08:29 PM

Bruh, I’m not gonna lie, that is some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s literally “all men bad”. If people think that all men are bad then don’t date men. It’s as simple as that. It’s still a choice even if what you said is true, which it isn’t. Some men, just like some women are bad. Some people are bad. Some people will cheat and commit terrible actions to their partners, but not all. It’s a choice to pick these people. If it happens once or twice it’s not that persons fault…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/20 08:24 PM
4

Because they make the choice to be with these men. If a man gets constantly cheated on then it’s most likely his fault for picking women who would cheat on him. It’s the perpetrators fault for committing the action, but it’s the others fault when it’s repeated over and over again
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/20 06:50 PM

“If all these women are having problems...” if they’re all having the same problem then it’s them, and not the men. They’re all making the same mistakes, which is why they all have the same problems. AKA be responsible for your own choices
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/20 06:44 PM

I agree that the niceness was never the problem, but I disagree that these people choose to ignore their other traits and use it to play victim. The ACTUAL reason is because this is the reason they’re given by women. Women often go “Sorry anon you’re nice and all, but I’m not interested”. This isn’t an issue, and is a very polite way to turn someone down. What this leads to is that during every rejection the through line is niceness since with every rejection their niceness seems to play a part …
