Once something is your only option it limits you completely. If you feel like you have to have something, it’s not going to work on a way that’s natural. Focus on yourself man, you’re not screwed. Pull yourself up and find some things to do that you’re excited about even if it doesn’t involve dating women. Best of luck.

Yeah it’s like 6 months to a year between on average. How do you close this gap? I know it’s just a matter of being out there more, but really know how to create a consistent circle or get past my past insecurities yet.

I’m trying man. It just keeps getting to this stage where things fizzle out for one of the two reasons and then I get annoyed about it. Like should I just keep pursuing this girl who is not expressing strong interest? Or am I going to get locked into a relationship with a girl where it’s not a good idea? I also feel like I’m not meant for dating. Like when people ask me about a girl I went on a date with, my inclination is to shrug it off, not be like “yeah I went on a date and tried to show her…

Yeah I hope one day you learn that there’s even more to it than just “going for it.” You want to talk to her, so why are you holding back. You’re preventing yourself from expressing your emotions honestly if you don’t. You get closer to being yourself this way!

So basically just stop pursuing and doing anything to profess with girls. Just be passive and let go?

I guess ideally you wouldn’t have to even think at all about your actions like your on autopilot everyday. For some reason, the same doesn’t always seem to be easy when it comes to relationships and there’s the rub.

Yeah but you there’s a spectrum between being 0 and 100% invested. Generally I would say even when I’m interested, I’m not 100% invested. When I described that she loses interest, I back off (evidence I’m not being completely invested). Then she - every time - just moves on and back to the start. While I agree it’s good to not be all in, I’m not getting any further in any of these interactions than the two results I just described.

It’s very theoretical (much more theoretical than Models) but I think the teachings from it are present in a lot of aspects throughout the community. Have fun!

You can definitely be friends. The issue is when you’re not honest about your intentions. Do you actually want to be friends or are you looking at it as a pipeline to something else. There’s nothing wrong with getting to know someone before deciding to be their friend or asking them out, but if you are romantically interested, I’d express that pretty early on and save yourself a bunch of pain later.

I think you should have just done it. Even if she rejected you it would have been positive. The news isn’t going to report tomorrow that you asked her for your number, nor are the people who work there even going to care. There is only upside. Think of this next time when you are in that situation.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
